oedons tomb
where the npc guy is but these two locations seem to be in different areas. Im trying to find the
crow lady after missing her in yharnam
and trying to find the headlamp.

Edit; nvm its at boss 2 just never lit the thing. I hope i see that lady again i want twinblades

I have an extra messenger top hat dlc code and I'm not interested in profiting off of it. Would any of you non pre-order blood Bros or blood sis want the code? Shoot me a PM. I'll edit the post if it's not available anymore. First PM gets it.

EDIT: Dr. Malik got it, I'm sorry everyone else. :(

Just wandered upon and killed Cl
eric Beast
on my first try after struggling with Fa
ther Gascoigne
, which took countless tries on my part. As with any difficult Souls boss, it was so satisfying once I figured it out.

The former was coming down to the wire, but I managed an unintentional stun to finish it. Love how easy the PS4 makes recording and saving these moments.

I'm curious, which one is intended to be the first boss?
The first one of the two you mentioned. That's where you're told to go.

Fucking lol, I'm fighting
father gascoigne
, hiding behind the graves using my heavy attacks. I start think, "Lol I'm kicking his ass," all of a fucking sudden,
dude turns into a beast,
breaks through the graves and starts attacking me. I panic, I die.

Just when I thought I outwitted the game. I should have known better

Spoilered boss name and what happens during fight, just incase

Second boss spoilers:

Father Gascoigne goes beast mode on me when he has about 80% HP. I've seen it happen to others when he has 20% HP. What gives? Is it because I'm using the music box?

yes.(from what i've read)

use it
when he transforms

I was thinking about getting the cane but you guys are making me change my mind.
No cane love here ?!
I really wanna use the cane tho .

Are there any weapons with a good skill scaling besides the threaded cane? I upgraded it to level 5 and I still feel it's ineffective against bosses.

Well guys...2 hours into this game and i cant even get past the group of guys at the begnning who are roasting a giant arm around a fire....

That being said i keep putting off sleep for "one more try"... so i guess that means im enjoying it

I love the cane, I've had zero issues with it and I've only died twice since starting the game (just started in the third area after the second boss).

How's the game?

Thanks for compliments on my (her) character. She's flattered.

Game is everything I wanted and more. Makes Dark Souls II look like a beta.

As to the cane vs. axe debate, Dex (in this case, Skill) weapons are always harder to use and more difficult to master. But in the long run, they are much better, especially once you start getting invaded . . .

What does the music box do?

I just used it and I don't know if I fucked myself over.

Also are there covenants in this game? I ask because I met a NPC asking to help him in co-op and I agreed but I don't know if I joined a covenant or not.

Also fuck this game is scary. I was in a location that was quite but after a few minutes people started crying.

Played up to second boss so far. Loved Demon's Souls when I played it a few years back. Never got into Dark Souls very much.

Bloodborne is fantastic though. New weapons are a lot of fun. I haven't noticed a weight system in play yet, is there one? I have two different weapons equipped and its nice to switch on the go depending on enemy, doesn't seem to have impacted my maneuverability.

Visually the game in beautiful. IQ could be a bit cleaner but I'm more concerned with the loading times which can be mildly annoying. Also no a fan of the way the game dials back animation frames when enemies are far away (like they look 10fps even though the animations for your player character look normal). Given how narrow and winding most areas are though it only happens rarely.

The framerate hasn't been an issue for me, seems to run pretty well. I have seen occasional stuttering maybe related to loading.

No weight system. Could you even imagine an overburdened hunter? He wouldn't last very long in this game. No blocking.

Animation scaling I feel is appropriate. But, I have never seen THIS much animation scaling before in a console game in my life. I only see this in MMOs that are on PC, and only when you set it to "low" to help out your bottle-necked CPU.

My guess is, they attempted this to help with the load of all the physics based objects in this game. Barrels, cloth, dead bodies, etc. ... It all puts a load on the CPU.

Any tips at getting past the two werewolves in the 'tutorial'? They have killed me about 5 times now. :/

Try opening with a dodge to the side followed up with an attack instead of attacking head on. You can tear these guys up pretty well if you can get to their sides or back. They're really slow to turn.

Also, instead of using your entire stamina in one go, try to only get a few hits in, then dodging away before they can attack. With no shields, proper positioning is the key to staying out of harms way.

If they crowd you too much try using your gun or transformed weapon to get a little space between you and them.

where is Alfred/the password?

also did anyone buy the "bolt resistence" set for the
Prison boss? DARKPEERL or whatever.
I wonder if it's worth 6 points of Insight.

He's down a side path off of the Grand Cathedral plaza. The password is in a cut scene after Amelia

It is a hard start that is for sure, I went with it because I like Dex weapons, but this game along with DS 2 feel harder for Dex starts than DS ever did.

Also is there any way to change my weapon I got a
sword hunter item, and another hunter item
Are this what are needed for changing your weapon? If so, where do I go to do that?

Just had my first session as a co-op helper against the Cleric Beast. Still an absolute blast to help others out in these games, and I love how your HP as a helper is crippled now. It was 2v1 and the boss seemed to have been given decent buffs as well, though I couldn't tell how pronounced the difference there was relative to the Souls games.

And thank god for no soul memory. That feature tarnished co-op in Dark Souls 2.

Where do you get the small resonant bell? I'd love to help out some others and get some much needed levels in the process.

Use what you wanna use. I'm using the cane and have had little trouble with it overall. On my way to the third boss.

So I created a new character after getting my ass handed to me constantly as a Cane wielding Professional. Holy shit the game is so much easier with the hunter's axe! The cane is so much harder to use effectively. It's a pain. Such a shame because it's absolutely badass weapon concept.

I'm thinking I need to do the same thing, because I chose the cane as well. While that is very cool indeed, for a first run through I should probably stick to something that I can actually use to get farther in the game.

I'm only a few hours in but I love the cane. Upgraded to +1 and took out the first boss on my first try. Leveling up skill and endurance and now I just roll around folks taking them out up close. Roll back for the whip when there are too many at once.

It's seriously atrocious. Especially considering how many times you die and have to wait for the loading of the level. I wonder if having a SSD would fix this.

I just do stuff on my phone in the middle of load times. Yeah it's long for a modern video game but Its definitely not something a patient human can't withstand. It's not even a minute :p

I've been getting my ass handed to me by Cleric Beast and I just realized I can by armor upgrades back in town. lol. guess I need to go farm a few souls to get the upgrades and then try again.

It still annoys me how hit and miss the gun is. 80% of the time I shoot the boss it does nothing. I've only actually Riposte'd him maybe once. Will the gun stagger him 100% of the time if you time it correctly? If so I just need to work on my timing.

Finally got the asshole third boss, time for a break! Probably would've gone by wayyy easier if I bothered to level up but I had to keep blowing echoes on antidotes.

Loving the game though. My only real complaint outside of the terrible loading times is that you sometimes have to grind for consumables if you get stuck. Wouldn't be so terrible if you didn't have to sit through several minutes worth of loading screens in between runs though.

armor upgrades won't save you if you're getting your ass beat by the cleric boss. watch his movements closely, try to stay at about mid distance between attacks (too far and he does a leap, which is a bit less easy to manage) and work him down. it's very doable if you focus, daniel-san.

I also had trouble reliably landing parries on cleric beast. I succeeded when I stopped spending the whole fight trying to go for them. just focus on dodge and wack.

Don't think the first boss can be parried. He seems to stagger after getting shot a certain number of times.
