Ive put 25 hours into bloodborne and havent noticed bad framerate btw.
Neither have I.
It really doesn't have much going on. Even though the world is expansive as whole, most areas aren't very large or busy. It's still a nice game to look at because From is very interesting both creatively and artistically, but the PS4 is definitely capable of much more considering some of the games we've seen on it already.I disagree. It would be an extremely impressive feat for this game to be 1080p/60FPS at its current fidelity. Maybe a more consistent experience at the technical level but 60 FPS? No way.

So, as someone playing games for 35 years AND developing games by yourself you can't tell how a sub 30FPS games feels?
Ok.
Two completely different games, but The Order has Victorian settings as well and looks about a generation ahead of Bloodborne while running at the smoothest 30fps you'll ever see. It is a corridor shooter for the most part, but the brute force of that game can't be ignored. It has a couple of large scale areas of its own as well, and performance doesn't suffer.Doesn't have much going on? The environments are very rich in geometry because of the Victorian architecture which creates high poly counts.

The order technically runs at a different ASPECT RATIO
Fixed!
I don't know the details, but the difference in results are staggering.Order looks fantastic, I'll give you that. But I doubt you'll be able to show that it has higher poly environments then Bloodborne. In fact, I think that comparison might favor BB if anything.
As with PS360PC multiplatforms in general, PC version has higher resolution and heaps of post-processing but the environment complexity is (subjectively to me) firmly PS360 tier, so it's like putting makeup on an old woman.Bloodborne's environments must really be taxing, because while it's obviously doing much more than Dark Souls with the blood, fog, and cloth physics, the PC version of DS still looks like it's part of the same generation -- especially indoors. I ran Dark Souls at 60fps on a 4870, i'm sure the PS4 could do the same for Bloodborne with a technically gifted developer.
Fixed!
It's both. The Order runs at a 2.4:1 AR or 1920x800, for 1,536,000 pixels.
Full 1080p is 2,073,600 pixels.
Seems about right. Even if Nintendo games typically have great frame rates.

Except that everyone perfectly understood the meaning of Furfuryl Furforate's post (that TO1886 is rendering fewer active pixels and thus, in at least one respect, is less intensive than Bloodborne). In common usage, "resolution" is often equivalent to "dimensions of active sample grid" (i.e. you could use "resolution" to refer to the dimensions of a texture without confusing anyone), so there's nothing particularly wrong about the original statement. In some general sense it could be made more precise, but it's perfectly intelligible.Proper is : game is full 1080p in 2.40:1.
No, it sounds like a pair of numbers. It's also the only necessary information, since whether TO1886 is upscaled or not is completely irrelevant to the point being made.1920x800 sounds like game is upscaled, but it isn't.

I think we all here have played the game.
what a stupid post..
and here some example of the framerate issue(which maybe not all players have, but a lot):
in the level itself
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksusUGhTo68
had that happen in the woods too.
2, or 3 times. but in a different spot.
and once it happend in a later level.
and when entering the boss fight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42DEsLkqvsY
that accured everytime, I tried the boss for me.
serveral other players mentioned that to.
and here a texture bug I recorded yesterday
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATh8YoEHZyU
that was the worst one.
but throughout the levels I have stuff popping in pretty often.
my PS4 isn't even 2 weeks old btw. hope I didn't get a bad one.

As someone who's been playing games for 25 years... Bloodborne is not shit. It doesn't play like shit, it doesn't look like shit, it doesn't feel like shit.
The only thing that's shit in here is your arrogant, narcissistic and plain assinine assumption that just because you've played a lot of videogames you have the ability to tell other people how bad a game that you've never played is.
Could Bloodborne be better on a technical front? Sure, it could. There's is definitely quite a bit of scope for improvement. No-one is debating that.
One thing I wasn't expecting coming in to this thread was to read claims that Bloodborne is proof there's no craftsmanship left in game dev (It's actually the opposite in so many ways) or that there isn't a lot going on in the world (Again, the opposite actually).
Comparisons to the extremely scope controlled world of The Order are kind of silly.
I'm someone who believes framerate is a key part of any games core design and will likely target 60fps for things I develop but aside from the micro stutter issue I don't think the framerate ever hurt my experience in Bloodborne. The action feels intense because every decision is meaningful not because it is actually fast like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden, it's clearly designed to work at 30fps despite being significantly faster than ~souls has been in the past.
Hope they fix the micro stuttering but I suspect some of it is tied to LOD/Loading as the game has to be quite aggressive about that with its massive interconnected world that has no load times.
My launch PS4 has done this one running up the stairs to the cleric beast. Pop-in is pretty noticeable, but I've never had framerate drops as bad as yours. That said the frame pacing is awful for me, and in a game designed around precision dodging and timing it can make fighting enemies immensely frustrating sometimes.what seems about right?

I think you're underestimating what bloodborne is doing here, technically it's a generation ahead of DS1/DS2 and there's quite a bit of geometry being rendered with graphical heavy effects like POM and tessellation used literally everywhere in that game. More than that, the heavy use of alpha and particle effects is a main stay in every scene. Effects like smoke, fog, ash (from burning pires), fire sparks, blood spray and souls are in every scene and you'll even get the odd ruffled feathers littering the screen when you fight aerial creatures too.It really doesn't have much going on. Even though the world is expansive as whole, most areas aren't very large or busy. It's still a nice game to look at because From is very interesting both creatively and artistically, but the PS4 is definitely capable of much more considering some of the games we've seen on it already.
As far as your issues go, you seem to be unique. DF and others here do not seem to be experiencing those issues. Sorry to hear.

I'll need to pay more attention to this next time I face it since I was too stressed out to notice this when I somehow beat it, lol.Yeah I think it has the best cloth and hair physics I have seen, especially the thick hair on Cleric Beast that animates correctly as he slams his fist on the ground. Its the most impressive thing I have seen in a game this gen, more so than the pristine IQ of the Order or Second Son.
the frame drops are a pretty common problem.
a lot here had them too and youtube is full of videos.
so there are more people who see it.
saved a clip this afternoon from Cathedral Ward.
The low fps on entering the foggate and sometimes when walking around things seems like to be caused by a disabled ~Auto Camera setting. As for the last example, in my experience that seems to be the worst location in the game where geometry isn't loaded fast enough and while regrettable, a rather isolated case (unless you use unintended skips). Nothing which shouldn't be able to be patched out (I hope).
Is DF not doing a tech analysis on the game?
Check out this analysis of bloodborne by NXGAMER. video. Very informative and it will point things out a bit better since it's visual in nature. Is DF not doing a tech analysis on the game?
He's been getting worse and worse as time went on. I frankly have no idea how one develops so much anger over something so essentially irrelevant.Holy hell what was wrong with Thrakier? I've known that guy for a while I cant remember him ever coming across so combative. Especially over something he hasn't played
