Gungho America asks about porting classic games to PC (Lunar, Grandia, etc.)

Gamearts just opened up an online survey to gauge interest in seeing some of the classic games that they own on PC.

Here's the survey link: http://gamearts.pgtb.me/G11qsW

Games they mentioned included the Grandia series, Lunar series, Thexder series, Gungriffon series, Ragnarok Odyssey and more.

As a big fan of many of the games they mentioned, I hope this ends well. :)

Definitive English port of Grandia 1? Sign me up.

I doubt this would include the Working Designs versions of Lunar so I'm not sure how interested I am for that.

A) Yes.

B) No.

Great to hear all feedback. I hope the community is open to the idea! I'm always available via PM if you have direct feedback, too, for Game Arts and/or GungHo in general.

I'd love for them to make a brand new 32-bit level RPG either in the Grandia or Lunar series or in a similar vein to those.

Filled out the survey:
- Favorite game: Lunar:SSSC
- Most wanted port: Grandia II

Neogaf repped lol.

Also is saying DRM is important mean that you want it or that you don't want it?

In other news my answers are Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia Grandia

Could we get a decent port of Grandia 2's Dreamcast version? Please? I'm afraid the Dreamcast I have in my closet is going to be like the Cowboy Bebop fridge episode and come alive to kill me years later.

Is there any difference between the PC and the DC versions?

I reckon the PC version was pretty ok

I'm tempted to send you a daily PM just saying "Grandia". :)
No seriously, I think it would do really really well on Steam if it gets a decent port.

i think i'd play pad battle tournament on vita
i say think because i've never played battle tournament

I'd love to get the Grandia and Lunar games on Steam and/or GOG. My favorite is Lunar Eternal Blue Complete, but I voted for Grandia as I never got too far in that one during the PS1 era.

Grandia 2 is the obvious choice since it's a good game and the only good version of the game is the Dreamcast version which obviously a lot of people don't own these days.

I was really excited to see Thexder 2 though. Great MS-DOS 2D action/adventure game where you control a giant mech that can switch between 2 forms (plane/robot). Noticeable improvement over the better known first game. Also has a fun little 80s anime-style plot (Heroine goes looking for her boyfriend who was lost on a previous mission to a giant alien base masquerading as an asteroid).

Please, please do no rerelease the Lunar series on PC.

I have only so much money to throw at you, and having to decide between Lunar and Puzzle and Dragons would break my brain, heart and wallet. ;_;

My greatest regret is never having played Grandia 1. 2 was my favorite and I would also buy that (again) in a heartbeat, despite owning the currently definitive Dreamcast version.

Honestly, I would probably buy a lot of the games on that list. A decently priced bundle of all those Game Arts games and I would be sold on it.

Can I confirm that choosing "drm" in the features question means I am interested in a drm free game?

err

The correct answer here is Lunar. In every single version of the universe.

It's bad. Really, really bad. Glitchy, slowdown, attack animations are messed up, hit detection is out the goddamn window, graphics in some towns go freaking nuts.

Shove that into the garbage disposal.

Yes. It means that you feel strongly about it one way or another; and since I am the one that put together the survey, I know that drm-free is typically what the community would want if they were to feel strongly about it.

I have most of these games on the original console and would rather play that way but I support this and would probably double dip on a few.

Holy shit Thexder?

I played both of those on my old Tandy 1000SX.

PC speaker Moonlight Sonata for the win.

I did my part. Asked for a PC port of Grandia. I'd really like to re-play it again, I still own it on PS1. Wouldn't mind playing it again with Saturn-level visuals, in high res, at a high framerate and with the option of having Japanese audio.

Plz.

Please make sure the games are fully functional on release. Whether you have to do a closed or open beta to make it possible.
I prefer to have a delayed over a game with hiccups and cut features relegated to post-release support.

Features for PC games are important. Please check this link.
