Gungho America asks about porting classic games to PC (Lunar, Grandia, etc.)

I'll murder everyone who don't answer this survey and don't answer Grandia as their favorite game!

I want this series on Steam! Specially the first and the second.

It's bad. Really, really bad. Glitchy, slowdown, attack animations are messed up, hit detection is out the goddamn window, graphics in some towns go freaking nuts.

Shove that into the garbage disposal.
I dont remember any of those issues. The only issue I remember is the FMVs being ass encoded which makes spells take forever at times. There's a mod that fixes the problem though.

Other than that it was fine. Ran full speed on my P4 lol. Granted I've only played it on Windows XP. maybe it breaks on later OS/drivers

I'm sure they'd need to work on the port regardless though. There's always stuff to fix.

Lunar Silver Star Story Complete please.

I has always heard that it was pretty much impossible to see those games released again. I so hope that they are released though.

I'll fight you to the death before I concede to the inferior game.

(Totally kidding I love both series please don't murder me)

Please make sure the games are fully functional on release. Whether you have to do a closed or open beta to make it possible.
I prefer to have a delayed over a game with hiccups and cut features relegated to post-release support.

Features for PC games are important. Please check this link.

Thanks for being upfront on what you'd like. I'll also bookmark that link and share it with our team. Cheers!

Port Grandia and fix Grandia 2, then release them on GOG/Steam. That'd make me very happy.

Game Arts should hit up Sony and get either a Lunar or Grandia exclusive going since Sony seems to be reaching out to Japanese developers.

Oh God, I'd love any sign of life from Grandia. Absolutely loved the first one back in the day and still liked the second one a lot, too. Wasn't a fan of 3 either, but the Grandia battle system still remains perfect.

Was released around the same time as the PS2 version and has its own porting quirks, so I presume it is a separate port of the DC version.

What were the quirks?

voted for the one and only Grandia
please let me turn off the voices or give me the japanese ones

Being able to switch between the two audio tracks would be awesome. The Japanese version does sound a lot better - hopefully the rights aren't tied up or too expensive as sometimes happens.

Japanese audio as an option for those games that had it would be great in general.

PC/Mac version of Grandia? FUCK YES.
I wouldn't mind trying out the Lunar games if they were also available at a reasonable price.

What relevance does Sony have to this particular thread? My goodness, the Sony crowd will always find a way to stick their dicks in every PC thread in existence.

I think Grandia II should be priority. It's been a long time since I last played it, but I remember the ATB combat system fondly, and also how AoE skills worked intuitively, as far as actually having a circular AoE, and not just arbitrarily targetting either every mob or one mob. It's a modern enough game that it won't feel janky in its mechanics.

As a child I played Grandia 1 on the PS1 and I really loved it.
Later on was Grandia 2 on PC.
But Grandia 3 never got an europe release and I lost track.

So I voted for Grandia, looked for Lunar pictures on google and it looked nice too.
Would be happy to see them in stores.

Great to hear all feedback. I hope the community is open to the idea! I'm always available via PM if you have direct feedback, too, for Game Arts and/or GungHo in general.

Filled in the survey, feel free to count my vote twice as I actually bought Dokuro on Steam. :P (fun game btw)

Since Gungho bought Grasshopper, is there any chance for No More Heroes or Lollipop Chainsaw on PC? Thanks.

Holy shit Thexder?

I played both of those on my old Tandy 1000SX.

PC speaker Moonlight Sonata for the win.

I remember playing a bunch of these like Thexder and Zeliard somewhere around the Pleistocene.

*Old man high five*
