Gungho America asks about porting classic games to PC (Lunar, Grandia, etc.)

So I've never played any of their games, which one do you want me to beg for?

But really, it's hard to go wrong with most of them.

Yes. It means that you feel strongly about it one way or another; and since I am the one that put together the survey, I know that drm-free is typically what the community would want if they were to feel strongly about it.

Should have read the thread before I did the survey, would have selected DRM in that case. I didn't want to select it and give the impression "Yes! I like DRM!" and support the addition of crummy Securom or something to anything you guys might release.

Would love to see the Lunar and Grandia games on Steam/GOG, those would be definite purchases for me. Less familiar with most of the other games but I'd check them out.

To be honest, in terms of "features that matter," running smoothly and without bugs/glitches is priority one, anything else is secondary (resolution options would be next in line). Wasn't really on the list so I just wanted to throw that out there since this thread is being read.

Been wanting to play Grandia, voted for that. Would rather play it on my Vita because portability but, if it gets ported to PC with some sort of enhancements I'll play it there.

Survey done.

If they can, remake Grandia 1 with 3's battle system (or improved) with amazing cartoony graphics!

also, Lunar games on psn please :D

Just in case anyone doesn't already know, Grandia is playable on the Vita already (PS1 Classic). A new version on the PC with better voice acting & the Saturn improvements would be very nice though.

Now that I think about, Grandia II has some notably big-name voice acting. Jennifer Hale and Cam Clarke, if I recall.

I put down I wanted Eternal Blue Complete for PC. Have both SSS Complete and Eternal Blue Complete on PS1, only beat the former.

I can see these doing awesome on STEAM, so here's to hoping!

Voted for Grandia 3 (plz don't kill me).
Don't liked first one and adored second (on pc, good port for their time).
PS - what is Xtreme? Remake?

What relevance does Sony have to this particular thread? My goodness, the Sony crowd will always find a way to stick their dicks in every PC thread in existence.

so kinda like when pc gamers come in a graphics comparison thread clearly meant for xbone/ps4?

seriously, the poster just wanted some grandia. we all know there aren't any pc-only publisher that would fund a jrpg like grandia, and a lot of jrpgs have been coming out on ps3/4. but i digress.

Lunar: EB is by far my favorite Iwadare soundtrack, but the soundtrack for the most recent Ace Attorney game is also really good.

i dont have a lot of the lunar music in my all-time-playlist, maybe i should give the soundtrack another chance when the game arrives on pc :P

but pw music is a hit or miss. while it has some fantastic tracks (like Godots theme
god damn that one is so good
there are too many rehashes of tracks i dont like xD

There's not a single game on that list I wouldn't buy for PC, but if they give us only one, make it Grandia. Also love that they realise DRM might be one of the most important things on PC for some of us.

Told the truth.

I would love to buy another copy of Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (preferably the Complete version). I don't care the platform. It's the only one that I have to jump through hoops to play on a mobile platform (disc, on PS3 via remote play).

I'm not interested in Dokuro again because I already played it.

I would LOVE a new Grandia, or even an improved PC port of the first game (PS1 slowdown and voices hurt).

Overall, I think this is a good thing for Gungho america to do. This is a great thing to do with all that Puzzle and Dragon money

No.

Sony has no relevance to this thread. This is a PC thread.

Agreed about voice acting, but saturn improvements? Are you talking about the Digital Museum? I dont remember what extras Saturn had vs the PS1 port.

...

If dual audio cant be done, at least having an option to mute voice on cutscenes and battle.

The history of video games belongs on PC in their unaltered state. The idea of having to track down used copies or subscribe to streaming services is just a terrifying one.

With that in mind, PORT PORT PORT.

I was mostly just referring to how the Saturn version plays & looks a little better than the PS1 version. Getting the Digital Museum content added in would be awesome though.

I know I'm asking for a lot personally, but I would love it if the PC version of all the Grandia games was their "greatest" version.

XSEED did this with Trails in the Sky, their in-house programmer added in all of the PSP extras to the PC version of the game. Having a definitive copy of a great title is always such an amazing thing!

Lunar 1 & 2 on PC/Mac PLEASE I have hard copies of both but more people need to play these fantastic games.
And they are two of the only games I just don't lend out to people so do what I cannot!

Would love to have ports of Lunar (complete versions) and/or Grandia.

Answered honestly with Dokuro. I loved the game, but I've already bought it and played it. Would recommend it to those who haven't played it though.

Could imagine quite a large number of folks on Steam would buy those titles if they were to be ported over.

We're in agreement that it would be far better if they port Lunar SSSC rather than Harmony, right?

Also, how many of you are married to the Working Designs macekre stuff? Me, I'd want them to strip it down and retranslate it with the idea that they're doing an early Ghibli movie instead of Slayers cut with vintage 1995 neckbeard cheese. Keep it simple and charming. That doesn't mean slipshod garbage like Ubisoft's translation of the GBA game, but it also doesn't mean inserting jokes about IUDs or Bill Clinton or making up ridiculous terms like Furnacheron. I wonder if there's any chance of that.
