Well, you said it yourself: "Maxed out PC" :)

Although, IIRC, people were able to find that several graphical settings were disabled in the PC version, some of which were present in the E3 demo.
hence the "pretty damn close"

And yes, there were some missing effects, namely proper reflections.
---
Has anybody else thought about how a commander mode could be implemented in a Star Wars Battlefront game? It could be pretty cool if done well.

I think there were a couple of people that thought the teased storm trooper pic could be a commander. I thought that was an interesting theory

The question is: WHERE does the game look like that?

On PC only? On consoles too?

I have little doubt it will look like that on PC, but Ps4 and the Bone too? There I remain ducious.

Of course, it's PC. Of course, lower costing alternatives will look worse.

And yes, we still have not seen true gameplay.

If Sony allowed EA Access in time for Battlefront I would gladly pay whatever it costs just to get the early "demo access" for it.

Assets will be the same across them. Obviously that shot is massively downsampled but the core will be similar. I'm expecting post process AA on consoles. Res/framerate, and effects will be the big question for how close it looks going from console to PC. I'm hoping the incredible motion blur from that teaser makes it into the console builds.

Naw we're totally going to get an Iron Man / World at War situation here, where some versions are a completely different game.

On the platform they show it on... they haven't shown it yet and he's referencing tomorrow's reveal.

Haha

I was just trying to explain the way you should look at it to someone who seemed confused. I'm kind of used to looking through bullshots at this point. Footage is where it's add these days. It seems most of the shock is coming from the authentic look of the assets, which seems doable to me due to the angular nature of Star Wars' style in an engine with PBR and good lighting.

added a bunch of new people

Find me a seat I am onboard till this sucker has its reactor core detonated

Is this game multiplayer game focused like battlefield or it has good singleplayer story mode? I am asking cause I have never played battlefront.

This is going to be such a great weekend. I have to write a term paper, but for my breaks I have a new TFA trailer and BF trailer to watch endlessly, 10+ Star Wars comics in my backlog, 2 Star Wars novels, and all of The Clone Wars and Rebels to watch.

It's a good time to be a Star Wars fan.

if one of those novels is Tarkin, you are in for a treat. I am currently reading it right now and am loving it

You can say that again. I haven't been this excited for Star Wars in a long time. I got chills watching that force awakens trailer today.

I hope dice stays true to battlefront, and maybe add some ideas from those psp games like ground to space transitions.

God damn I am so excited

I remember all those years ago, I said battlefront would be way better if DICE was handling it; in the end, it's a BF clone, so why wouldn't you let the premier studio on the genre handle it?

These days, I'm not so sure anymore. I hope DICE still has the capacity in them to surprise me, and not take a Falcon to the Hype Star.

Has DICE commented on EatChildren's incredibly successful cover yet?

I'm hoping they end up having to use it at this point because I happen to really like it.

Regarding single player, I hope it's no more than what it was in bfr2, galactic battle map with conquest type games with bots - for some reason bots disappeared from these types of games to be replaced with completely unnecessary single player campaigns with stories and what not, and I guess that would've been okay if only they would've kept the bots, but they don't anymore, I've honestly not played a game containing bots in almost 10 years, Battlefield was such a game right up until bf3 as was battlefront

I'm actually down for an AAA SP experience.

The set pieces could be fun.

I don`t think we should expect anything better than the single player they have to offer in Battlefield. That`s just horrible. I hope they prove me wrong.

Swap out the BF4 SP weaponry, vehicles and setting for SW stuff and I am more than happy with that campaign. :P

More than anything though, hopefully they can do good sci fi skyboxes. Seems like Bungie is the only company that does them impressively.

I fucking love an impressive skybox.
