just ran into a
cyclops
sleeping in the middle of the road, had this weird urge to throw a pokeball at it.

that needs to be a mod, i want to go around weakening and capturing these monstrosities

Lol.
Did you fight it? Only managed to kill one so far. Another guarding some hidden treasure was a level 30 and was a pain to hit.

Oh my god, that would be an amazing mod. Turn them into gwent cards.

Shit, this game is killing me (in a good way)

Yesterday I had 82 question marks around Velen/Novigrad, started ploughing ;) through them last night, went to some more notice boards and I'm back at 81!

GOTY for me up to now.

can you only have 2 sidequests at a time? I pikced up everything in the first notice board, but I only have 2 sidequests (one being the gwent card one), I walked back to the notice board after doing the blacksmith arson quest and the notices were up again, minus the 2 I have (to find someone and a witcher contract which is a different tab)

bug or what am I missing?

You will know if its a quest/contract when the notice is longer and has a stamp at the end of it.

Holy shit, the mind control Axii for battles is OP lol. Enemies that would take many hits to kill are killed in 1-2 hits once a controlled enemy attacks another.

I know about the signpost trick but in general, if I drop an item, does it stay where I drop it? Or does it disappear?

I need to upgrade and grab this. I'm also loving the Quen shield you can keep up and take hits to restore health, and the Igni alternate. I pretty much always open by just burning enemies.

So... devs... please do not put dialog heavy cutscenes in the middle of boss fights. Especially with annoying bosses. And especially when the loadtimes are already so obnoxious.

There must be another way. There just must be.

Yeah. You have about 4 or 5k health and some of them can one hit kill you (on Death March). Most enemies don't have near that much health so they just end up obliterating each other.

This is good to hear! I'm actually working on unlocking this with my next point. I started out using the ability that let's me use axii in conversations. It's been very beneficial so far.

why are you "readying" yourself for areas? Just go. I've been wandering in all areas since I was like level 5.

Not necessarily readying myself. I just felt like I always had plenty of stuff left to do in the Velen region before it "made sense" to move on to Novigrad and beyond.

lol at the "Witcher
Wannabe"
quest. That's a hilarious interpretation of the Law of Surprise. And the
School of Snail
is my favourite
Witcher school
now.

I think the greatest thing to happen in this game is doing some dumb peasant broad's fluff quest and it turning into
reuniting with motherfucking Letho to help fake his death!

That was so goddam cool to do a random, nothing quest and have it turn into something huge and important.

I ran that quest a long, in-game, while ago. Pretty sure the save I imported (from the first OT's OP) had
Letho alive
. I killed a few specters, investigated the house & opened a chest.

Am I just out of luck now?

Couple of mods I'm hoping someone would make.

1) Fix Geralt's basic movement.

2) Add a option that shows Geralt's outfit of choice regardless of equipped gear. Feline sets were good stat wise, but they don't look great at all.

3) More haircut/hair colour/beard options.

4) Allow teleport to any sign post anywhere.

Anyone else have a bug where you buy a formula from a vendor and it doesn't show up in your Alchemy list? Trying to buy Enhanced Moon Dust from a vendor in Southern Novigrad and it doesn't show up. Very frustrating.

I can't seem to get this quest started. I'm pretty sure I'm at the right place but I can't interact with anyone there. Is there something I'm supposed to do?

It's the bookstore
In Heirarchy Square. Talking to the book merchant should start the quest.

Sometimes merchants bug out and you can't talk to them. Meditating for an hour usually fixes it.

shit, just need a
monster carapace
to craft the
mastercrafted Ursine armor
, and it doesn't seem like any of the blacksmiths are selling it.

any tips on how to buy/find one?

I think items personally dropped stay forever, but loot you don't pick up disappears if you leave the area for a while.

Also what's the sign post trick?

Thanks.

The sign post trick is if you go to a sign post and drop items, they literally stay there forever. It's kind of like a storage area. LOL. I used it last week before I started over and it worked but I don't really want to use an exploit so that's why I was asking.

"And then my dear friend Geralt was convicted and iimprisoned for littering. But he was kinda ok with this since everyone in jail played Qwent."

I think the original save from the first OT was messed up and actually had
him dead. If he's not there, he was dead in the imported save.

It won't stay on the ground forever. Some streamer on pc lost alot of his stuff because all his crafting materials that he dropped on the ground disappeared after hours of playing.

Dunno. I imported the same save and met him yesterday. But I got the quest from some elderly, poor noblewoman who wanted her residence cleansed. If there were traps all over the place then that was the quest. It might be that
he's still there, waiting on the second floor of the barn IIRC.

This has probably already been asked but this thread moves insanely fast. I'm only level 3 now but you do you get more ability points as you level up more or is it 1 for 1 each level? I found a
Place of Power
so that helps too.

There are
5 places
of power in White Orchard to help you specialize a little bit early on. I do not believe there are any places of power after the prologue zone.

Also, if you get all 5 active at the same time(have 5 buffs from them) you get a trophy.
