There is no need for matchmaking when one of the best weapons is available from start. Is there any sort of matchmaking at all on this, because i have just got my copy & i'm level 2 & i'm playing against people at least level 10+ & am getting destroyed all the time!
I have played about ten regular matches so far & only killed one person, cannot get close enough with the crappy default gun before i get killed myself.
Hmm the BETA was more fun than this.
Don't try to fight straight on with the Splattershot Jr. It's not made for that. It's for flanking the enemy and hitting them when they're otherwise busy. Paint the floor, build up your Ink Meter, and pop that to make yourself invincible for a short time. That's when you fight. Or bump into team mates and share the invincibility. Is there any sort of matchmaking at all on this, because i have just got my copy & i'm level 2 & i'm playing against people at least level 10+ & am getting destroyed all the time!

Regular battles no.
Ranked yes
Ranked Battles uses matchmaking (using a ranking system). Turf War is just casual play.
Stock changes every day.So is there more clothing to buy than just the six pieces in each store I saw upon playing last night or not?

Are the Amiibo necessary for this game? I guess what I mean to ask is, am I missing out on not getting the splatoon amiibo?
It is not necessary, but there are some neat content locked behind the amiibos, unfortunately. Are the Amiibo necessary for this game? I guess what I mean to ask is, am I missing out on not getting the splatoon amiibo?
amiibo functionality is in the OP.

Close to what? If you have played 10 matches, you should be able to upgrade your weapon. Focus on painting at the lower levels.

the default gun is one of the best combo in the game dude. even needs a nerf as far as I'm concerned.

I don't like it either, but it seems to be the most popular weapon so far.Hmm i don't like it compared to the weapons that were available in the BETA.
Are the new maps update based or lvl unlocks?
Rollers, rollers everywhere.
No, it rotates every 4 hours.
Do you want to have fun now or later? So is this worth buying now, or should I wait until the whole thing has been released around August or so?
Seems to be a game where you need to get it at release to progress.
The sooner you get a game like this, the better. By August a lot of people will be really good compared to new players. So is this worth buying now, or should I wait until the whole thing has been released around August or so?

Playing the single player campaign until the end is excellent training for the online battles.
I don't remember, is it possible playing this with the Pro controller (if I choose no motion controls) ?
Miiverse noob here. How are people posting messages, pictures and doodles in Inkopolis?

Nope... Fingers crossed for an update (I'd love to play with the Pro Controller + Gamepad next to me for the minimap, kinda like MH3U)
the controller thing really should be in the FAQ section at this point^^
