There is no need for matchmaking when one of the best weapons is available from start.
Don't try to fight straight on with the Splattershot Jr. It's not made for that. It's for flanking the enemy and hitting them when they're otherwise busy. Paint the floor, build up your Ink Meter, and pop that to make yourself invincible for a short time. That's when you fight. Or bump into team mates and share the invincibility.

The stores change content once per day.
The stores refresh their good from time to time during the day.

Why do they keep putting the 2 chargers in the same team?
Cool game, so far. Definitely has that EAD feel/polish. Bounced between both single-player and multi during my two sessions so far. Digging the story-mode stuff a lot and I'm already wishing it was a primary focus. Overall, seems like good groundwork for a fully realized sequel.

They refresh every day with new randomized items. You can also order clothes of Inklings you see in the plaza through the NPC in that back alley.

The sooner you get a game like this, the better. By August a lot of people will be really good compared to new players.

If you're losing all the time at level 2, play single player to develop your skills. There is a bit of advantage that gear can get you, but it isn't extravagant (nowhere near CoD/BF), and it completely relies on you being good enough to have a preference of playstyle to know what abilities you want. Really this reminds me of the old days in Quake. You just have to grind out your deaths until you get better.
Edit: I would also recommend painting walls if you have a good weapon for it. Walls are often overlooked by your team and the enemy. Because of the former, painting walls will give the enemy more to undo if they get into your territory. Because of the latter, they probably won't bother. It takes a bit of practice to learn how to do efficiently, but it's the best action "as a support" for your team.

Paint the floor, don't worry about splatting people for a while. Get used to the controls and your weapons and evading peopl. For this mode splatting the other team is pretty much just a defensive strategy to slow their progress.
The more floor you paint the more experience you get.

Speaking of Miiverse, it's integrated brilliantly into this game. Like, it's probably the best implementation of it in a Wii U game yet.
I got hook on the game for two hours. At firsr I also was getting beaten left and right (why does the game put high lvl players together and lower ones? Is hard beaten a team of all level 18 and the heighest in hour team was lv 3 O_O).
But that help me get idea and strategy...sadly the team works just follow my path instead of covering other areas. I didnt think this game would had that much strategy, but it does and battle can feel instead. Havent even play single player yet
