Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

my sniper duels with the japanese guy (lvl 16 to my lvl 14, he was really good) ended with a "nice!" after I counter sniped him three times in a row :p

I the only person who even killed him in the last 5 or so matches

I imagine it like this, but with more colour:

Also, i've gone back to the Jet Squelcher and damn does that weapon leave you open to Close-Range Combat. I like it though because it gives so much distance to fling ink everywhere safely...for the most part.

I beat the first 3 bosses in mission mode just to unlock the Amiibo missions to get full gear sets. Got the full Robocop-esque suit from my Squid Amiibo, and I look like such a bad ass in multi-player now, haha.

Very much enjoying the game, but the art style just isn't jiving with me. It gives me a very ModNation Racers feel; urban, chill, punk vibe, but also very dry looking. Almost like a third-party Western Nintendo 64 game would look, if you get where I'm coming from.

I feel as though Jet Set Radio Future nailed the perfect vibe for a game like this; I wish Splatoon were cel-shaded with lusher colors, honestly.

Hahahaha, hey the storyline in singleplayer is really cute.

Im pretty sure who agents 1 and 2 are lol Loved the first dialogue of agent 1 hahaha.

All people saying the final boss is one of Nintendo's best is just making me more hyped.
Glad the team decided to make a singleplayer, and make it so good.

Once more: squids of gaf, send me a friend request!

Love the game, I'm lvl 7 now, bought all the clothes for today and such.
I hate that I did not get the girl amiibo >.<. I wanted the costume so bad .-.

I've been grinding away for hours and I'm only up two levels (5 > 7). How the hell are there level 20s out there?

Edit: Also, is it me or is the charger absolutely useless if you're trying to level up?

Guys I've died as the kraken quite a few times.
It is not invincible.

I can confirm it takes more than an full tank of ink to kill the Kraken with a splattergun. Me and my friend are testing now.

And i hate using this but without voice chat or spot options it makes it hard to coordinate....

I'm pleasantly surprised with this game. Had zero interest in it until last week. Picked it up and am loving it. Hopefully Nintendo can get those updates out fairly regularly to keep things fresh.

My biggest and perhaps only complaint is I wish you could change your weapon/equipment mid match to better suit what your team needs. Or at least in the menu while waiting for next match to start. I hate loading a game up with three rollers and then your teams boned.

You don't think it's fun? :p

If they make a sequel, id really interested in being able to play as something other than an inkling. Like if you play as a crab dude you move super fast but can't swim up walls or something like that.
I just want Octolings playable. Hopefully DLC someday.

It's got a shit ton of health, then. I've had my mine go off right after it killed me and it didn't even flinch

I think a localisation change is "on fire" is "hawt" in the US version

I've died with the bubble active :( . Lag is a piece of shit.

Actually thinking back its been with rollers that I remember.
Maybe it's been lag, or I've gotten unlucky and died right when turning back.

All of the .gals seem awful.

The Inkzooka seems mostly useless

The Inkmine is interesting, but not that useful

That shotgun burst weapon doesn't have a whole lot of strategic use outside of killing people, which is usually what makes you lose

A lot of the weapons seem like they have a purpose that has nothing to do with Turf War, which is making the initial lack of content feel real apparent.

Yeah, I mean with chargers you can rack up massive points by painting the ground, but you have to forego fighting completely or you're bogged down, and aside from the fact that chargers range isn't really all that bigger than a splattershot pro or a squelcher, it just makes that weapon completely useless in Turfwar.

I've seen quite a few people use a tactic in where they would constantly hop in and out of ink just firing once at you and then diving back in and repeat... It kind of works if you want to 1on1 someone, but mostly it just looked goofy and didn't net them any significant advantage.

... now the splat range of the dynamo roller, now that's fucking bullshit.

This game is soooo good!! Just reached level 5. Been first place in most of my games so far. Single player is pretty fun as well, only did the first world so far.

Wow. Took a break from Multiplayer to finish up the single player and I'm blown away. I had essentially no expectations for it, thought it would be just a tacked on afterthought but it was a blast from start to end. It started a little slow, and most of it isn't very difficult, but it does an excellent job of introducing all of the gameplay mechanics to you and I'd say it will make you more prepared for multiplayer if you play it through. The final boss sequence and credits alone justify the existence of the entire single player portion. It was definitely one of the most fun endings to a game that I've experienced in some time, I recommend everyone give it a shot if they haven't already.

Someone needs to do research on this. Did you die to another special maybe?

I did the squid amiibo challenges and I could swim through stuff that would normally instantly kill you so I'm not sure about that. The only thing that could kill me as a kraken was falling down or the special attack from the 4th boss

If the Kraken isn't actually invincible then that's probably a bug. No, really.
Man, when the lag is bad it can completely screw you over.

I was firing at some enemy ink and nothing happened for about seconds, and then suddenly the whole area just turned to my teams colour. Then I exploded, and a few seconds later one of those Kraken things swam by.
Have you ever been splatted by a roller who was nowhere near you? Happened to me this morning. It was weird.

Why do people say that the charger is not a good weapon for Turf War? Maybe you guys don't know how to use it right, but I exclusively use charger weapons and often score over 1000. It's also an excellent support weapon.

Bought today, done some matches and I already love it! So much fun, can't wait to "develop" some strategies, I think this game will be really skill based in short time.

Now I'm really curious to try single player too!
