Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

What's everyone's favorite weapon so far?

I'm loving the Roller, especially the Krak-on version. I'm also doing quite well with the basic Splattershot (not the jr). I like the SP skin you get from the Squid Amiibo. Shame about the sub and special weapons though, I'd much prefer something other than bombs and bomb rush.

I bought the Decal .52 Gal and will see how that goes tomorrow. Feels good in the training mode. I also tried out the Splattershot Pro and the one that looks kinda like a drill (splatter shot style but with the best range) but I don't do as well with them even though they have the inkstrike special which I do like.

Not a fan of the charge weapons. I want to like them but I suck at them. Maybe I'm just not playing with the right?

I did it. The motion controls have FINALLY clicked for me. Was getting really worried I wouldn't be able to enjoy this game because of its controls.

The secret? DO NOT TILT THE PAD AND USE THE RIGHT STICK SIMULTANEOUSLY.

It'll only fuck your aim up. I make sure to keep the pad steady and only move it to look around AFTER I've turned my character to face the right direction. I completely remove my thumb from the right stick for a sec and adjust my aim slightly using the motion controls.

I've suddenly started killing people and placing first or second with 900-1100 points pretty consistently.

Is the roller the only weapon that's good for getting a lot of ink or is there anything else? Because I'm terrible with the roller
Do you have the aerospray yet? If not the jr should work.

Bomb rush is the tits for charger, but that's because the grenade is stronger.

Taking a break from another session
New personal high score. 1622p with splattershot jr.

Gotta love the bubble. Invaded their homebase part of the map twice and took them out.
Long win streak too. Of course. That only lasts as long as you have the right team and opponents.
It's a strange feeling. How sometimes your dominating and other times.
It feels like you have to babysit your team.

I've only been playing randoms. Perhaps I had an opponent from GAF?
I am J22 in Splatoon.

Up is "To me"
Down is "Nice"
Might be different depending on location.

Yeah, NA has C'mon and Booyah but the EU has to me and nice. It seems weird to change that between the English speaking countries. Like, to me the "Nice" seems like something you'd use after someone gets a good kill on you but in NA it's Booyah which is what you'd say when you got the kill. C'mon and To Me just seem weird changes, I can get them thinking Booyah doesn't carry over to the UK or something but c'mon.

It bugs me in Turf War when players just make beelines to the center of the map right at the beginning. I realize it is important to hold off the opposing team in big middle areas, but I'm always the guy establishing our territory for the first 30 seconds of the match. lol This is especially bad in the skatepark and mall, but at least I get an easy power up every time!
I actually prefer when people go to the middle first. Get just enough for your power-up then go straight to holding off the enemy. When you die and respawn, don't super jump but fill up your special again by filling the spots left over. I'm not convinced cleaning the whole back at the beginning is a good idea at all as long as it's filled by the end, especially if it results into your team being pushed back too much since there aren't enough players pushing the front line.

Then again, battles can change so quickly in this game, it's hard to say what the most effective gameplan is.

Stopped multi to play some SP.

Man world 3 is amazing. The invisible terrain is such a fun concept. I hope we get some maps that take advantage of these single player concepts down the line.

This whole game, especially hyper jumping off to floating installations really give me a Mario Galaxy vibe. Its so good.

C'mon is terrible since the meaning of the command isn't a clear "get over here".

I should incorporate that into my strategy more though, I've been ignoring it most of the time.

I consistently have higher scores than any roller on my team, and I use the customer splattershot. Rollers can only spread ink while they are not knocked out. :D

Jeez, I didn't even think about it as easy ground for special refilling.

This is weird, for me the best thing about it is that I can do both simultaneously
Oh well at least you're starting to enjoy the game. Welcome man!

Countless hours of Heroes of the Storm make me wish I could ping the map, lol.

Just started playing. 10 minutes in and I'm already encountering terms like "Fresh" and "Booyah."

Nintendo, please don't. I don't think 1995 is worth revisiting.

Maybe I'm having trouble explaining my method clearly, because yeah, you kinda have to use them simultaneously, but I was going overboard. I really lay off the right stick as much as I can and do better.

I advice you to do the single player, it really helped me to get used to the controls.

Same, one of the moment you just want to yell at your teamates then you realze you can just facepalm >.>

Step 1: turn motions control on

Try getting used to the gyro controls, it's totally worth it

Yes, after doing a few of the single player levels, I've come around on motion controls. Takes a bit of getting used to, but the single player mode really helps with learning the controls.

I tried the splattershot pro but goddamn it runs out of ink so fast. Its almost useless.

Yeah the pro is kinda good against enemies but for coverage is weak. The "clip" is way too small. Splattershot (the basic one) is a good all rounder but has sucky sub and special. I can't remember what is on the alt splattershot.

Can't seem to find out how to gain more abilities in one's gear/how long it takes to do so? Some of my gear has an ability gained from battles, etc., but not more than one.

If there's no more question marks, there are no more abilities to gain. You can add more slots for a price I believe once you hit level twenty, for either a tremendous amount of money or a super sea snail.

It's the endgame resource sink.

Loving the dual squelcher. The rate of fire more than makes up for the reduced range.

The random rolls on my power gear are okay. Maybe reroll the shoes when I can.
