Dark Souls III leaked info and screenshots [RUMOR - Better Details Write-Up]

I don't think it has anything to do with Bamco, they're only the publisher outside of Japan (assuming Dark Souls 3 is even published by Bamco & not Kadokawa).

Ah right, very true. I always just assume it's a Bamco thing because I see the PC release as something that sells more in the west as opposed to Japan (based on absolutely nothing but how I assumed Japan and PC games is).

The game will add “Sword Fighting Arts,” which including “Rush In” and “Circle.” The former is a sacrifice attack that allows you to dive into an opponent and take damage while delivering a huge hit, while the latter sounds like a dodge move.

Rush In?

Circle?

Also please remember that Sony not only contributed capital to Bloodborne but manpower as well.

This would free up more members of Fromsoft to work on souls.

Maybe one of the reasons Sony contributed manpower is because when they first asked From they already knew they were gonna start work on DS3 and wouldn't be able to do Bloodborne by themselves

So recycled bosses from DS1 and/or DS2 and direct sequel to DS2. Ehh... would have preferred spiritual successor with everything new. Still day one though lol.

It clearly looks like they appropriated unused environment assets from Bloodborne as well.

DeS-Miyazaki's Team(Probably has fewest overlap because it was codeveloped W/JapanStudio and is the first game)

DaS-Miyazaki's Team

DaS2-Tanimura's Team

BB-Miyazaki's Team(Again CoDeveloped)

Ds3-Miyazaki Directing with a mix of OG Souls coders and Ds2 coders as well?

DS3 is Tanumura's Team most likely with Miyazaki doing a supervisor role.

I wonder if chalice dungeons will make some kind of return.

I for one wouldn't mind and endless boss rush mode. Maybe an altar where I can activate it and be summoned for random bossfights consistently.

Jumping to conclusions much? Jesus lol

Atleast in the video they said it is going to have few bosses from earlier entries and especially if there is only 15 new bosses thats high probablity. That would also mean a direct sequel like DS2. I don't think it is a bad thing though but would have preferred if there was no tie ins to earlier games.

Are you from the future? We need to tell people about this. Time travel is real!

watch it be called something completely different than Dark Souls

i see they are using the Bloodborne engine that Japan Studio helped them with
looks pretty nice (if its real)

Working on Bloodborne and DS3 at the same time? Damn. Dude needs a long vacation after this

Yeah. That's even more impressive than his actual games. He is the president I suppose, so he's able to manage his own time. Doing a fucking masterful job of it.

Bloodborne has 17 bosses. A bunch of common mobs as bosses in chalice dungeons and a handful of unique chalice dungeon bosses.

"45 new enemies, 15 new bosses. Characters and monsters from previous games are not included in that count."

I would say this should tell you that there will be bosses from earlier games which would make it a direct sequel to DS2. Sure I could be wrong but seriously this will most likely be the case.

I can't go back to the blocky PS360-style graphics in DS series anymore either.

The intricate aesthetics of Bloodborne has spoiled me.

It doesn't appear that there will be PS3 or 360 versions and judging from the screens it appears to have a similar level of detail to Bloodborne, probably using the same engine I'd imagine.

If they do announce this at E3 i'm only expecting a CGI trailer and perhaps some screenshots combined with a PR statement. I don't expect footage at all.

Is it worth going back to Dark Souls 2 after playing Bloodborne?

I guess so, the problem is the game has changed so much as compared to when it first came out that i can see exactly how much SOTFS is now as compared to Dark Souls 2 on release.

The two classes i used the most have been made almost completely useless - sorcerer and like a paladin/faith/lightning guy. Spells are now dog shit and take off fuck all - everything is heavily favoured towards the melee classes which also seems to be the way they have gone in bloodborne, add this to the DLC enemies apparently being heavily magic resistant.

Plus they have hidden so many areas behind statues and you now have to source a fragrant branch of yore to unlock simple areas.
;
Im about halfway through the game or maybe 2/3s right now and im not enjoying it at all as compared to the PS3 version from before which i loved.

You will also release how much better it is that FROM dropped equipment load and ADP from the stats screen so you can focus on other things. Dark Souls 2 is WAY more stat focused and it really is slow going from the very start.

Just dont expect it to be as good as bloodborne - it is a lot more strategic and a lot slower and i believe the changes they have made have been for the worse.

Sorcerer deserved the nerfs. I played with a faith build after the nerfs and still had a blast.

Here's hoping the multiplayer is Demon's Souls/Dark Souls 1 level and not completely screwed up like the past two games. Give us something we can play for a few years, then take a long break.

They pretty clearly consider Dark Souls to be a continuing story and not a fresh start every time.

I don't know why anyone would think that changes with this one.

Eh... This seems pretty legit.

Imagine the Silent Hills stuff is true as well.

We are in for an interesting E3.

The sorcerer has issues already I. E not being able to wear the strong armour or carry huge weapons.. They didn't need to be rendered unusable.

No point carrying lightning spear anymore. Way too much casting time and so few casts.

I know people don't like those that criticise souls games but sotfs just isn't fun anymore, they changed way too much of the game.

Looks amazing. I hope there are classes that play like Bloodborne. The fast and dynamic gameplay of BB is where it's at.

That's what we'd all think. But people in the know keep claiming Miyazaki is directing.

Also, how would it be his swan song (as John Harker claimed) if he was just a "Supervisor"? That wouldn't fit in with clues he's been giving us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but game directors are not like film directors. They can tackle multiple projects at once, can they not? Hell, Nintendo's games of the 90's had Miyamoto as some kind of director on almost all major IP's not by Rare.

If rumor is true then you don't need to worry since Miyazaki is in charge :D
Bloodborne had plenty of stupid design choices, too.

And as much as i think that DkS2 was the weakest in the series by far, many of its problems were probably rooted in the troubled development, of having to restart production midway through, having to repurpose areas, and change direction in several design ideas.

So, before elevating Miyazaki to Godhood, and going with the "Shitty B team" narrative, i'd say we should give them a chance to have one game done correctly, start to finish.

After all they had that chance with the DkS2 DLCs, which turned out pretty great, for the most part.
