Well all are valid points. But you have missed one big reason why people favors Sony over Xbox and that is Sony's first party games. Say what you want, but Sony first party games have always been diverse.

That kind of is his and my point - those big Sony titles that we love haven't really come yet with the exception of Bloodborne.

Yes, but you're missing what he said. He said it was underwhelming for hardcore gamers. The biggest games are multiplatform. The big exclusives haven't really been that great in general compared to previous generations of consoles. On any of the current gen platforms at that.

That title has new meaning I guess - cause Bloodborne is arguably the best hardcore title out there along with Bayonetta 2 since next-gen began. If we're talking hardcore. Everything else has been standard fare.

I detest using metacritic as a point of reference when referring to "big" titles in these debates, so I think I'll defer from this one and go back to the topic at hand.

I guess that rumor/tweet from earlier didn't pan out. Sucks. Was hoping we'd get some more announcements like the UC Collection pre-E3.

One of Microsoft biggest problems this gen is that a lot of the earlier games that had that wow factor on the 360 they havent developed for since or are no longer xbox exclusive.

Mass effect is gone

But

Where is perfect dark, lost odyssey 2, kameo 2 project gotham racing, halo wars 2

Yeah, it didn't
So guys remember that "omg announcement incoming at 6pm PT" thing that was happening by the twitter dude that wasn't verified, surprise surprise, it didn't happen. According to the guy, there was supposed to be a hype video from Sony teasing stuff for next week, showcasing the games we know of already, but "a single frame" in the video had something that looked like The Last Guardian.

So glad I didn't hype this little development up.

This was the initial quote we're referring to, with the most relevant portion bolded:

More like they got lucky that MS and Nintendo fucked up so badly in the beginning, PS4 automatically became the go-to platform for casuals that need their yearly AC and CoD fix.
Which is probably why so many people want an exclusive PG game funded by Sony, since from a hardcore gamer's perspective, the PS4 might just be the most underwhelming market leader within this amount of time on the market. The console's arguments seem to both start and then end with Bloodborne, especially in an age in which many hardcore gamers got a PC for multiplats. Yes, these games bomb, but it also wouldn't hurt Sony to improve their exclusive lineup too.

Personally, I don't care where the PG games go, as long as they keep getting miraculously funded (okay, I might not be happy if they'd go mobile).

That's what he and I are saying.

What rumor? x.x

Thought it sold more on PS4 the months after. Guess I was wrong too.

Edit: Sorry my bloody ignorance but, NPD is only for US sales?

What is the Europe? PAL?

Battlefield Hardline sold more on Xbox One in both March & April NPD. It sold more on PS4 on the PAL charts.

They do not deserve the success though!

I like how PG games count as "hardcore" but when you mention the crap load of Japanese games coming exclusive to PS4 its like no those games are too niche. You cannot get more niche then PG.
Yes a company that listens to its consumers do no deserve success /sarcasm.

He's being sarcastic too. The second statement he made seems to support my assessment.

I think that PG will continue its mercenary approach going forward. The company has a small, dedicated fan base. Going exclusive, may not suit its needs in the long run

Please, no Destiny at Sony's confrence.

Please.

You will likely be disappointed.

Kinda cute :P
But you will get this for 30 minutes and 30 minutes of powers.

If anyone don't like this, you got 30 minutes of sports and media.

Hopefully we get 30 minutes on 3.0. That'd be great

Why is it such a sin for people to want a games console that plays games with no bullshit?

Because reasons...

I think they will talk or at least tease about the next Destiny expansion.

Kinda cute :P

Does anyone want third party games to have live demo's at conferences? Personally i think that should just be reserved for first party games.

Kinda agree and disagree. I'm selfish. I want to hear about the games I love even been 3rd party and consume people precious time. But, seriously, most of the time I hold your opinion as mine.

Didn't understand what you ment by that.

I hate to be that guy but I am really looking forward to a fixed NHL 16, maybe a finished WWE 2K16, Whats new in Madden (the NFL has had CRAZY changes), and if 2K is going to stop it's currency bullshit.

These are really high up on my what to watch for list.

Just wrote up my expectations and predictions for this year's conferences on my blog.

I hope we're genuinely surprised at this E3, in a good way of course. Most shows end up falling below expectations.

The person you quoted is correct. I'll go one further and say that the PS4's success revolves around its initial 100 dollar price difference with Xbox One, the horrifying Xbox One reveal/Kinect/DRM/omg I can't buy or sell used games (which some idiots still believe, btw) etc, and Nintendo's lack of third party support. It really had nothing to do with available games or resolution (no matter what some claim, most people don't care). That initial momentum is nigh impossible to counter, even with price and content.

Yeah give no credit to Sony, total BS.. If X1 had a great reveal and launched at 399 it would still be losing because Sony has a console that sells World wide. The 360 being cheaper and launching a year late and sony shitting the bed gave people false hope that Xbox is actually competitive against Playstation. It simply is not worldwide,

Has nothing to do with the brand confidence consumers have that sony took 20 years to build, or their internal studios, brand power right??.... Such nonsense seeing people keep downplaying playstation. They have dominated the home console market for a reason.

WTF...cannot be serious? All of a sudden the trolls came out it seems.

You think Is MS had a great launch and at 399 they would somehow be winning worldwide? It is all luck? They did nothing right with PS4? 20 years of brand recognition, making a product people want is all luck?
Cannot believe people post this type of downplaying. Only reason 360 stayed close was 599, a year late to the market and Sony doing everythinng wrong. Playstation head to head would still easily beat xbox as it has a world wide appeal.

Yes bloodborne is the only good game on ps4......such nonsense.

Just watched the Uncharted PSX demo again in anticipation of E3. Goddamn that game looks incredible and I cannot wait to see what Naughty Dog has to show at E3!

What utter nonsense.

There's a reason one console has double the sales of another.

Sony has more exclusives in the pipeline than Microsoft and Nintendo. Where are you getting this from?

Waifus.
jk

People been reasonable. It will change your life?
I love PlayStation, like really love. I have my PS2, PS3, and PS4 plugged to my TV, but, the world didn't changed when PS3 sold less than X360 and neither when PS4 sold more than XBO. So, nice day to everyone :)

Didnt the PS3 end up catching and barely passing the 360 in worldwide sales though?

I would react the same way, but no way that's happening. Holiday 2016 is a good bet.

I wish with all my mighty that it comes as a launch title for Morpheus.

I know a lot of you dislike/hate VR, but it won't ruin your experience if comes to Morpheus. You can play it without. And it will come before 2016 Holidays.
