What's the difference between the Director's Cut of Deus Ex HR and the original version of DE:HR?

I got the original in a sale many moons ago, so I'm wondering if there's any point in getting the director's cut. Thanks.

Entire team is casting "raining gold" entire time....14 Levels later..

212 Million coins...

...a few minutes later...haven't taken a pic, but at Level 590 I now have 300Million.

I joined at level 560...now to spend my $$$$.

Probably nothing! I only bought the base game though and it wasn't a game that was top of my list.

The Definitive Edition is basically PC edition at highest settings. Only way console is a better option is if you can't run the game smoothly on your PC.

By far the most expensive day so far for me, bought both Lords of Xulima and Talos Principle.

Probably both will be on sale even cheaper before I get to them, but both seem like games that deserve support.

You haven't played Xulima yet? Sorta surprised! Though I get that last year was a busy one.

I consider it really strong in terms of base gameplay systems and how they convey themes to the player. My only gripe was a certain reliance on a single, lengthy gameplay loop that repeated a few times too many. I only put 40 hours into it, got maybe halfway, enjoyed it greatly, but put it down for other games and haven't felt a strong urge to go back. I probably should now, as it's been a good amount time and the loop won't have that same "overstayed its welcome" feel.

It's as simple as googling "auto clicker" or "free auto clicker".

However, when you're pulling $250k - $300k per click....you don't even need one.

First time I've been on a team that doesn't try to kill the boss. Everyone (7-10 at a time) casts "raining gold" and they just keep doing it while keeping the boss on the screen for minutes at a time. On level 640 we were getting $394k gold per click..LOL.

My haul so far; Elite Dangerous, Cities Skyline, Galactic Civilization 3, Guardians expansion (Endless Legend). All of which were on my wish list so I'm pretty stoked about that :) Also purchased Monaco 4 pack, Nidhogg 2 pack and Fez.

Question is if Serpent in the Staglands will go on a bigger sale than the current one?

Oh good, maybe you can answer my concerns about the game. I really wanted to like SE, and I was thrilled when they had a free weekend for it a while back, but the more I tried the survival aspect of the game, the less I was enjoying myself. I tried the scenario where they start you on a platform attached to an asteroid with some very basic stuff at your disposal, and for the life of me I couldn't get anywhere near enough resources to build anything. All of the various components that I needed required so many resources, and I could hold such a small amount, that it was taking forever to mine things. Not to mention the fact that I kept burning through my meager supply of fuel and couldn't find any more. I would jet over to other asteroids, but they didn't seem to have much more either. I actually never made a single ship before I ended up getting frustrated and uninstalling the game.

The game's advertised as having a survival mode where you have to scrounge for all your parts, and that's really what I would like to play. Is it at all possible to play SE in this way?

I'd say so. You have to keep in mind that not all starting scenarios are equally difficult, and I think the platform scenario is one of the tough ones. Starting on the crashed red ship allows you to repurpose broken parts of it into smaller ships which allow you to mine and grind faster, making the whole thing a bit easier.

There's AI ships which periodically enter your space and can be used as extra resources, plus the ships you can randomly find since they added procedural worlds.

On top of that you can change the grinding speed and inventory size to accommodate different styles of play

Anybody try out Space Engineers?

I like it. I was skeptical at first since the dev's previous game was Miner Wars, but the work they've put on SE has been exemplar. Updates every week, adding player requested features... Not long ago they introduced DX11 render, and next on the table are planets (there are only asteroids so far) and reworked netcode. If you are into sandbox survival games, I'd say it's worth your time.

Dang, there I was sitting with my copies of DE:HR + DLC + Missing Link bought in 2011. Hahaha, that's what I get for waiting so long... a better version of the game.

Are there any positives to the old versions?

I would read this article, which will give you a comprehensive lowdown. Basically, the jarring, action-heavy boss fights of the original DE:HR were - while not necessarily game-breaking - poorly implemented and completely missed the mark. That's understandable considering they were outsourced. The Director's Cut takes major steps to fix them, among other things.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.

Gotcha, thanks for the link.

Wow, I glossed right over the Talos Principle being featured. Everything I've seen about the game has impressed me, so I guess I'll have to pull the trigger.

And to think the Serious Sam guys made it. Blows the mind.

Space Engineers is amazing, everyone should buy it.

The devs are probably some of the best early access devs out there. They update about once a week with actual new content.

Seriously, just look at the update feed on Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/news/?appids=244850

I will say the game probably isn't for everyone. Those who don't enjoy building rad spaceships should probably stay away.

There must be some cheaters in my game today. I joined one in progress that was level ~200 or so about 3 hours ago. We are at ~7200 now and we go through the non-boss levels like they are nothing.

I'm sure you have an epic backlog (all us addicts do), but try to move Xulima higher up in the queue. It deserves to be played!

Give it a few hours. It's a bit tough at lower levels, but things even out a bit as you get higher.

Sinatar even made an OT!

Aw sweet, Astebreed just unlocked as one of tomorrow's milestone sales. I already got it, but hope others will snag it too. Love Edelweiss. Will probably snag DreadOut tomorrow.

Is it just me or have the sales so far in general been underwhelming?

It's not just you. Those of us who have followed Steam sales long enough can recognize that games aren't being discounted as much as they used to be and as fast after release as they used to be.
