Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Yeah, i kind of feel bad getting it for that price.

It's really weird that their games are so heavily discounted and getting so little exposure.

The Pixeljunk games are always 80% off without being a daily or flash sales, and I think that during all the sales they have been part of, only Pixeljunk Eden have been on the frontpage, and that was once.

They're all good, definitely worth their price, and everyone should buy them. But their tactics makes them look like they don't care that much.

It's ironic, this has been the best Steam sale in a few years but I still haven't bought anything,

Cities Skylines was still too pricey and I don't know what else to look forward to.

Edit: At least it's great knowing that Valve will be putting out a high number of daily sales for holiday sales moving forward, I think it would look bad if they downgraded in scale, especially since games will just keep on piling up.

You have the comfort of knowing that Cities: Skylines is always $18 on Nuuvem, at least.

If I didn't already own Splinter Cell Blacklist on 360 I would consider grabbing it on Steam. In fact I'm almost tempted to double dip and pick up the DLC while I'm at it. If you like stealth games, do yourself a massive favor and pick this game up. It's incredible.

But have you have Chaos Theory?

Plays that over Blacklist. Excellent PC port including best in the genre M/KB controls. I believe multiplayer is still up aawell.

Yeah that's what I'm waiting for as well.

I got three games remaining on my wishlist.

Ori and the Blind Forest, Shovel Knight, and Trails in the Sky.

I hope at least one of them gets a flash or daily deal.

Not sure if you're willing to buy from GOG or not, but Trails in the Sky is 50% off over there currently.

It's kind of weird how some of Bethesda's products have actually gone up in price over the years.

I was checking my purchase history and I bought the ultimate edition of Fallout New Vegas for $4.99 two years ago in 2013. I also purchased the deluxe edition (all dlc) version of Oblivion for $6.49 in 2011.

edit: These purchases were made on steam btw.

The thing with Trails on GOG is that the base price is higher there. €18.29 on GOG versus €15.99 on Steam. They are currently cut down to €9.19 and €11.19 respectively. If Steam finally decided to put it on sale for at least 50%, it would beat GOG's price at €8.

I know I'm splitting hairs here, but, hey. I want to get the best deal (and if I can get it on Steam, even better yet!).

What's that shadow run game?
Used to be called Shadowrun Online. I've not played it but the reviews are kinda meh. I'll stick to the singleplayer Shadowrun RPGs myself.

for anyone that bought or own the ARMA 3 DLC what does it add to the game? single player missions dedicated to the DLC? is it worth the price?

Haven't bought anything so far. The self control is real.

Almost grabbed Dishonored yesterday. I kinda regret not grabbing it now.

Is there any overlap in gameplay between cities skylines and banished? I bought the former, and I'm wondering if banished would be more of the same? They're both city/town builders in a sense, right?

Bought shroud of the avatar's early access.
I don't play early access games, but i doubt it will be any lower on release day,and this is a day 1 game for me.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
They changed it so that it doesn't work a month or so back. JaseC or someone else probably has the specifics.

It works, but only when logged out. Your store region is account-bound now but you're given two options during checkout/on your account page: one as determined by your most recently used billing info and another as determined by your current IP address. The purpose of the new system is that people no longer need to use the undocumented cc=xx trick when travelling abroad and it also automates your account's "home region" being changed upon a successful purchase in a different region, which previously had to be done manually by Valve itself (i.e. you no longer need to contact Valve after moving to a different country and then wait a few days for your account to be updated).

Is the entire Assassin's Creed franchise going on sale soon? I'm going to need that!

Yes.

Banished is more survival focused. You're building a town, true, but you're also trying to keep your people clothed, fed and able to survive the winters.

I was thinking about getting the Lucasarts Adventure pack before the sale ended, but looking at isthereanydeal it was $10 until earlier this year when it got bumped up to $15 for some reason. Might just hold off on it for now.

Talos Principle is an unmitigated delight in so many ways. Darling of the sale.

Definitely. It was kind of easy at first but now I've got about 5 tools at my disposal and the puzzles are getting crazy. Does a good job of making you feel like a genius whenever you crack one of the red piece rooms.

The underlying story has been very intriguing so far as well.

I'm still waiting for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Freedom Planet to reach the 75% sale...If they don't, I will just get one of them on the last day.

Overall my interest on sales keeps dwindling year after year, even with a clean backlog. Every time I see something mildly interesting, I can only say "but are you going to finish it?"

I've picked up Valkyrie Chronicles, J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars, MGR Revengeance, State of Decay, Memoria and The Fall for €27. Really hoping Saint's Row 4 gets a -75% discount by the time the sale is done.

Freedom Planet is one of the milestones of the steam mini-game. I was waiting for it too :D
