Please. Unless you've played enough Destiny like me and many others have, where at this point we play for the 'cosmetics' and not the gear(Since weapons are re-rollable), it's the only thing worth playing for.
it'd be stupid as hell for him to reply in this thread. Even worse if he rolled in defiant with maximum dick swagger engaged.I keep checking this thread to see if Luke replies.
They are going to renege everything on the next weekly update. It's been a theme with Destiny. They listen to the community they say.I read the whole thing waiting for them to defend it. They didn't even come close. That Luke guy is a prick too.
There is a locked area on earth named Kings Watch, surely it will be a new area in a exsisting destination.
This game and this interview really put a crimp in my scrotum. The interview really just reeks of arrogance and the sort of 'we know better' attitude that ended up crippling the Xbox One launch.I've never had a problem with the price tag. I'm sure it's gonna be worth the purchase. I think the one thing most have problems with is the fact that to get the collector's edition stuff, we have to rebuy the base game and the dlc. Why can't we have the option to buy the collector's edition with ONLY the Taken King content? It seems very anti-consumer and I feel betrayed for having supported it when it was first released.
Him and Deej are hilariously bad at putting their game in the best light possible. They're condescending and have a "we're better than you" attitude. It's extremely off putting.
I could not really care less about the cosmetics. I am actually surprised on the rare occasions other people notice them, because I pay almost no attention to other people's gear unless it's incredibly distinctive (Warlock goat helmet, Titan hammerhead shark helmet, Egyptian Osiris gear). Last week somebody gushingly asked where I got my Hunter's cape from and I was astounded. I don't even bother looking at other Hunter's capes.

So the only reason to play is for cosmetics? Maybe it's just me.. yeah it's gotta be me.So Lukes Eurogamer interview is getting around. Jim Sterling, Danny O' Dwyer(Gamespot), Kevin Vanord are all piling on.
Which I mean......it's deserved. The arrogance is incredible, as O' Dwyer put it.

That was part of House of Wolves.
My bad, havent played that content yet.
What could he possibly say though?
I mean, other than "we're listening"? lol
You'd be surprised. I lurk the Destiny thread more these days (Since there's nothing left for me to do in the game), right now someone is gushing over getting a Dead Orbit shader(Basically a black and white shader which makes it unique) from a package(These things have an incredibly low droprate as well. It's the only reason some people level different factions, for their shaders.)
I mean, I'm not calling you out, but some people can pretend these things don't matter(Shaders, emotes, class items), but they really do. Game is vacant as is in terms of content to do(The PvP Trials has rotated through all the armor, the PvE stuff offers nothing to those who have done it and gotten the exotics already). So people go for either the social aspect of the game, or the cosmetic stuff which people will proudly wear.
So the only reason to play is for cosmetics? Maybe it's just me.. yeah it's gotta be me.
Compare this to The Witcher 3! Practically over-packed with quests and stories and a shit ton of promised and substantial DLC to come in addition to paid expansions. So, they got non-stop complaints about the huge lack of content for the $60 base game, and decide to now sell you 1/4th of the content for almost the same price.
These guys are fucking shameless.
It's true. Once you've collected most of the things in the game, the rest is cosmetic. The faction shaders and ships are some of the most sought after things in the game. I have to admit, I care more about getting a new shader than a new gun most of the time. I like most of the guns I have already - like Fatebringer, from the very first Raid. I couldn't wait to get the 5 shaders from PoE level 3, especially that lovely green one. So what if I wanna look pretty, wanna fight about it?

That's the thing as well that I think they messed up with the expansion. Being able to reroll weapons is great in theory, but in practice it means once you have like, a Scout Rifle, you just reroll it for the perfect perks and done. You don't need another scout rifle(Unless you want to have a different set of perks for PvP than PvE). If you have Fatebringer or Vision of Confluence, than you probably didn't even take a look at other cannons or scout rifles because they're pretty much perfect already.
Is right after you go through the second half of the first TDB mission backwards. Can only get in with that mission, which is disappointing. Maybe they will open it up with a Queens Wrath enemy in there. My bad, havent played that content yet.
That was my hope too what with the tease email for the Queens Wrath event a week or two after Destiny launched. All that ended up being was bounties which would launch random heroic story missions that had fallen bosses. Was meant to be recurring like IB but they yanked it to be the Eris Morn for HoW. Disappointing.I was expecting Destiny would deliver story based mission between expansions to fill the lack of activities, I was so wrong.
Destiny taught he a very valuable 90$ lesson that I should never again pre-order a Season Pass with a game.
I had my fun with Destiny but it was very underwhelming. I never even bothered with any of their expansions, and the Season Pass was wasted on me.
Screw their expansion. And this guy knows just how to defend every questionable decision they made, lol.

Oh yes. It seemed they learned after that, but I guess not. lolI mean, in the end, people are really complaining about spending only $40. It's the missed opportunity of a Year One-ers bundle, and the messaging/"fuck you" to year one players with the $80 edition that people are understandably upset about. We'll see how they address it this weekly update. For now, it just seems like bad PR for no good reason. Reminds me of the whole Xur exotic debacle in TDB.

DeeJ's comment about "it'll probably sell for even more thank we're asking on eBay" is probably the dumbest response to this possible.
Yes, this is such a trainwreck.
I still haven't jumped in on Destiny. I'm waiting til september til the 'legendary edition' drops, but I'm more skeptical each expansion debacle.
The Taken King isn't even the last DLC for Destiny, right?

Supposed to be 2 more, one Cabal related(Because they've done fuck all with the Cabal) and another Vex one.

Destiny 2 might even end up being a $60 expansion for Destiny 1 with a lot of the language they're using of keeping your characters all the way through the 10 years of Destiny. It would be tragic to lose all that "old" content, hollow as some of it may be, when they decide to release the next "version". I'm not sure how I feel about it to be honest.
You know he has to be reading all of this. This thread isn't like all of the other threads that just turn to shit because of all the people that troll people for liking destiny. This thread is full of people that are legit fans that are expressing that this time Bungie went too far.
If he's as passionate about the game as he should be, I know it must be killing him to not reply.
Deej is the worst community manager I've ever seen. Doesn't help Bungie is pilling terrible design decision in their game and the worst DLC value I've looked into. So yeah, he got a hard job but it doesn't excuse the fact that he's bad at it
It's a little weird because "being able to reroll every weapon" wasn't even a big community demand, and yet they still did it and completely compromised the whole weapon-collection aspect of the game. Being able to re-roll only the Iron Banner weapons really drove interest in that event......why even bother playing it now? By the time the next IB rolls around, people won't even need the Etheric Light.
I tend to think that HoW was an expansion where they gave in to the fanbase a bit too much. And at the same time did stupid shit that made no sense (the dumb perks on PoE weapons).
Am I missing something? As someone who put 300 hours into the game I don't feel cheated by this release at all. 3 dance emotes aren't a huge deal, and I'm perfectly happy with dropping 40 bucks on an entire new world, several new strikes, and a new raid.
I actually think they mean to push us away from all the old weapons and gear in The Taken King. I kind of agree too, force me to use something else than Fatebringer 95% of the time. It'll also solve their Gjallahorn problem. They shouldn't be releasing a major expansion that still has all the Vanilla Destiny weapons as the best weapons in the game. That's just not fun anymore. I think the "Upgrade to max level for Year 1" bubble may not change to "Upgrade to max level for Year 2" for the old weapons/armor. It'll also solve the Vault Space problem as the old weapons won't hold much weight in the new expansion.
