He didn't even acknowledge that his views were racist in the past. Please read what I said again. I said he should acknowledge his past views were wrong, not just his words. I never said he needed to announce his change whenever it happened in the past. Acknowledge it now in your apology.
 
I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but how about Sting? I can't think of any dirt on him. Outside of him and Macho Man, I can't think of anyone else who weren't assholes.

Hogan has managed to break everyone's heart TWICE in a lifetime.

You mean he was using the pipe, it slipped out of his hand when he broke the first window, he couldn't find it so he carried on to avoid breaking character, and ended up fucking up his arm when he punched the other window with his fist.

I think WWE has a fairly love/hate sort of thing going for it; it has a sizable following as well as a sizable amount of people who think it's a bit of a trashy joke. But some of those people still might have nostalgia for Hogan.

I watch shoot videos online and everybody seems to like Sting. Maybe because he's super Christian and doesn't really party like the rest of them?

I highly doubt Hogan's presence had much of an impact on WM30 buy rates. He was attached as a host because it was a big 30th anniversary event. It should also be noted that his entire presence on that show was an opening segment where he forgot what stadium he was in.
 
With Hogan gone, Cena can finally etch his name in the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling with Rock, Austin, and Bruno.

what part of my comments are bothering you? I'm not defending what he's said, it's absolutely deplorable, just pointing out that it's been 8 years and he's stated that this video isn't representative of who he is today. what problems are you finding in my comments?

The idea that you can actually be so naive to suggest that Hulk Hogan had some deep transformation in his personal beliefs in those 8 years from the making of that tape to now when it was leaked and he's forced to respond to these revelations. Why exactly would you give him the benefit of the doubt? And do you actually think that most people change?
 
Yeah Sting seems like a nice guy, probably a bit too trusting of wrestling people (WCW, TNA, WWE if you watched Wrestlemania) but he seems like a nice chap. To be honest I don't think Goldberg is that bad, it's just the people he hates happen to be Vince McMahon and Triple H. I'd expect way a far worse human being to have come out of the WCW Power Plant.

Is that when he's like on the Christian tv shows? I don't really watch him outside of WCW/WWE but from listening to the way Hall, Nash, the Shiek, and everybody talk about him I don't get that. Do you have any links? He was my favourite wrestler so I'm interested in it.

His apology is a boilerplate 'I misspoke' statement, as if he meant to say snickers. It's horseshit and doesn't make anyone look good when they do this, I don't know why they continue to do it. I imagine they are advised it is a better PR move than 'I'd like to apologise, I have held racist views in my life and am committed to working on them now.', but I don't think it is.
 
I remember hearing about Hogan's leaked sex tape years ago, so why is this story only now blowing up? Or is it another tape that just got leaked recently?

I think he's not broke and doesn't really care about his legacy in the business. I still hope he gets to win a match in WWE. That will suck if he doesn't.

I think it's equally as troubling that you assume that people aren't capable of changing. Are you the same person you were nearly a decade ago?

I'm not saying that he's a different person, i just find it troubling to hold someone to something they said or did that long ago and to sit here and assume that theyve been acting in that same manner, in that same spirit, since then.

So yes, i do think that someone can change in that span of time. Now, whether Hogan has or hasn't neither you nor I have the capacity to know that. Maybe he's just as much of a scumbag now as he was then. But I give people the benefit of the doubt until they give me reasons not to.

According to data from last year, he still moved the 6th most amount of merch behind John Cena, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Batista, and Sheamus.

He moved the 4th most on the online shop behind Cena, Punk and Bryan.

I'm speaking more to him not wanting to join WWE(F) after WCW folded using the content of the Attitude Era as the reason. He's now since said it was because of contract reasons, but I distinctly remember the content clashing with his (new found) beliefs being said years ago.

Sting will, he'll probably come in as Roman and Dean's mate for a six man with Bray, Harper and some other dude. WWE will make some shirts for him, he'll be in in all the video games, they'll make some WWE Network specials and DVDs, he'll do alright. Way better than TNA anyway.
 
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but I can't find it anywhere: why did he sue Gawker if he knew this was in the tape and why didn't Gawker say anything about it in their original article on the tape?

People past their 50's rarely ever change their beliefs and 8 years ago isn't that long ago. When your throwing out deep seething racial hatred and epithets and saying explicitly "I am a racist," I'm not going to exactly buy that you've had a sudden change right after it's discovered you harbor said feelings.
