And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.
You know how in MGS2 Raiden was supposed to represent the player?
Well if these theories hold true then I think WE the player represent "Venom Snake" We've been loyal to Big Boss since MGS 3. We even sympathize with his character.
So we the player think we are playing as Big Boss only to have those thoughts betrayed only to be used by the very "hero" we've built up in our heads.
Man, you guys have done the impossible. You've somehow made the initially dumb "Big Boss double" theory sound legitimately cool and relevant. Well done.I say that because if I'm playing the game as Big Boss. It's easy for me to sympathize with the character. Kojima wants us to HATE Big Boss after this game. It's hard to hate a man if you're in direct control of everything especially when they give you reasons to be sympathetic towards his character.
Now imagine Big Boss using his most trust man. Whether that's The Player, The Medic or whoever. Implants false memories. (Kojima sold us GZ giving us what we believe to be accurate events.), and uses this person to build a military base and army to lure his two enemies out. Cipher and Skullface.
Only for it to be revealed that we aren't Big Boss and he in turn kills us and uses what we did to establish Outer Heaven.
We would view him as nothing more than a monster. Just like Kaz did in MG2
