I write this again, Huey is the most despicable character in gaming. Still respect to Venom Snake !
Blaustein localized the script and accordin to him was the assistant voice director. He was fired because kojima's translator, Scott Dolphins, did not like his work.More love for Fukushima is a good thing. We'll open a thread about him when the hype is lower. I need your support soldiers because I can already feel the MGS community breathing down my neck.
That said, what's the deal with Blaustein?
, Scott Dolphins
Side Mission where you get Quiet after she escapes MB.Where's this from?

The transactions between Snake and Hal are tight, amazing, and well done in the Tanker mission. MGS3 is campy but it's a lot of fun and the voice acting compliments what they were going for... But MGS had everything, nothing was wasted. Those codec conversations set a high bar.
Why? I see this everywhere. What exactly does he do to make him so disgusting... aside from trying to drown his step-daughter... Not defending him at all, I just really want a detailed reason why.
I really don't want to remember what he did to his sonand his wife Strangelove.

So he does that on purpose to Strangelove huh? Can we kill him? That torture scene sounds sweet now...
What does he do to Hal?
He just got a son from Strangelove just to force him to pilot Sahlenthropus and while his mum Strangelove disapproved, he locked her up in a metallic coffin until she suffocated and died. The tapes prove that and her spirit haunted that metallic coffin. And he is always denying that and lie. Everyone in the base wnated him dead, but Venom Snake spared his life.
holy shit
After MGS3 is when it went from "A little Anime with your Hollywood" to "A little Hollywood with your anime." MGS4 was the point where you knew whatever force was keeping MGS from being contaminated by the worst parts of Japanese Otaku culture had been crushed under the series' weight.Any idea why Fukushima left? I never paid attention to screenwriters in this series until they were mentioned in this thread, but when you think about it, after MGS3 is really when the series went off the deep end...
Oh my god... Like I needed to cry for Hal even more... Now I know why him and David get along so well. At least we know Hal ends up nothing like his scum father and even ends up an awesome dad himself. Why doesn't Venom have him tossed overboard?
no worries mate, much appreciatedLol
Edit: fuck this is the spoiler thread! I'm always doing this. I'll be on my way now.
More proof that Hideo Kojima is a hack... ugh. Anyways, I just try to enjoy it for what it is. Some insane ridiculous - over dramatized anime fans rendition of a war story.
It's like a bad 80's anime/movie from one of those weird directors like the one who made Big Trouble in Little China.

"I am Quiet.
I am...the absence of words."
Truly this is the magnum opus.
Man, I dont want to discredit Fukushima but I really dont get this weird narrative thats being painted to heavily imply that he was the gel that held the writing of this series together.
MGS has always been riddled with bad pacing, shoddy writing, and several outright horrible moments. Its part of the charm. Lets not pretend like it started after Fukushima left.

A LIVING LEGEND
There's just something about V's attempts at being serious that are falling flat in a way that didn't really affect MGS1, 2, or 3 that much. Still looking forward to seeing more.
