You could always develop the
Sneaking Suit which muffles your footsteps.

Is that why it is so easy to approach soldiers in GZ?
He was wearing that?
They still reacted when I got close though that could be "sense of presence" that people have. (We have more that five senses if you didn't know. Others include the sense of temperature changes.)

I don't understand 'capturing outposts'. I've done it randomly a few times now and still don't know what the benefit is, enemies end up returning anyway

Also is getting Quiet as a buddy obvious enough? I keep hearing stuff in game about her, not sure if I need to follow something up

That sucks, D-Horse and the jeep aren't really fun ways of getting around these giant zones, does a vehicle later on have actual off-road capabilities?

I heard you had to collect something for that?

You have to grab the sheet of paper posted at the orange delivery points to be able to travel to that location.

Was I the only one who wasn't very impressed with the Prologue? It felt like KojiPro's take on the Naughty Dog school of cinematic action/adventure game design, but it lacked the flow and polish of those great ND games like Uncharted 2 and TLoU.

It just felt a little too on-rails, drawn-out, and awkwardly paced for me. I also didn't like how everyone just acted like all that crazy shit that went down was par for the course afterward.

Looking very good during evenings and nights.

So did they only have money to pay Kiefer for a weekend or something? Mute Snake is my biggest pet peeve with the game so far.

It seems like they didn't have him for enough time to explain what the plot actually is or how to inflect his lines. He sounds like he doesn't know the context of anything he says.

Getting the Mission 12 S rank was exhilarating.

Getting in and out without being seen or killing anyone, the end section being tense as fuck.

So, in my iDroid menu, I have 11 over the Staff Management bit, how do I clear that?
I cant seem to get rid of it telling me there are 11 new members regardless of how many times I go into the section.

Does anyone else thinks that the sound work for this game is like... cheap? the sound of choppers or footsteps or specially D.Horse... I literally hate D.Horse when he starts running, makes me love Roach when I never loved him.

Other than that the game is awesome, spent like two hours planning/executing mission 3 and it payed off.

I LOVE the iDroid sounds. The iDroid woman does a perfect job.

And when you scan blueprints with it that little BZZzzzzz is so damn cool. All the beeps and boops.

I can't see or feel the difference between stealth prone and prone.

I didn't try this, but can we still shoot the guards radios so they can't communicate?

You mean holding triangle/Y when prone? That is the stealth mode where you further lower your stance and hold your breath, if you have good camo the enemies won't even notice you in plain sight.

Yeah that's the one.
Maybe I just didn't see those details. I'm gonna try it out again.

I actually never change my camo from the one we start out going with.

Yeah I think so, although I couldn't say for sure that's why (they might have just tweaked the guards' reactions since GZ). It isn't perfect in TPP though, and basically doesn't work if you're stood up.

In other news, I developed
the first prototype of the stealth camo
last night, a lot earlier than I thought it would be available. Haven't given it a whirl yet.

I accidently kicked him when I was messing with the guards. He just laid there long enough for me to panic before he got up.

I'm traumatized.

Like that first time you bump a baby /toddler into something and just freak outout.

You monster lol, although I can't help to think that snake would be saying this http://youtube.com/watch?v=xIwps1P3ZIs

Seriously... Roach from TW3 has nothing on this guy.

Well humanity, we had a nice run, but horses figured out how to use tanks. Lol, i accidentally called in when i was stealthing around a camp and it was just weird cause none of the guards noticed this big horse with armor but I was laughing. I also found him inside a building once, I was not even mad, i was impressed

Is that camo where you're
invisible to enemies?

Is there a way to slow the horse down from a sprint without stopping completely?

So far I've been pulling back on the control stick and I come to a complete stop, it's a bit jarring.

I think my GZ save is busted. It seems I got three or four troops, with the KojiPro logo on their face, but nothing else. My mate got Kojima, but he's not present in my file. Cannot be arsed running GZ to fix it.

I wasn't floored by it or anything, but I shouted "WHAT?!" at my TV a few times.

(prologue spoilers)
Particularly at the fucking fire whale and the flaming winged unicorn, but I also was borderline annoyed with it after the fourth time we had "random soldiers shoot at man on fire, and he kills them!" like, we get it, he's powerful.

That said, everything since has been fantastic. The organic gameplay moments I've gotten out of it after just one night has justified the wait.

Yup, although this
first prototype apparently only lasts a few moments before it runs out of battery, according to the description. Using it also limits your mission ranking to an A or lower.

Construct Platform development time: 143 minutes. It's going to get even worse, isn't it? :(

I had a quick look. Some of the online Combat Deployment missions last around 2000 minutes, or around 33 hours.

I really need to put more time into this but I can not stop playing Gears of War. It is 2006 all over again.

Ah, makes sense I guess. Wonder if theres a version with no battery

Do different playable soldiers have different voices?

I have one female soldier and the sound she makes after sprinting makes me think she's gonna die of a heart attack.

I tried importing & nothing happened

I'm on PS3 tho

Really enjoying the game so far except for the story. My god it's dumb. I guess that's MGS for you but even knowing that it bothers me.

Oh I also dislike the credits stuff. Ugh.

Listen to the tapes, he talks a lot

I know about the tapes, I listen to every one I get. I'm talking in-game. Like,
he escapes from the hospital overrun with commandos murdering everyone, a kid in a gas mask with super-powers and a fire monster, gets into a car accident, runs into Ocelot, gets chased by the fire monster who's now riding a unicorn that's on fire, nearly gets hit by a bolt of lightening, and the only thing he says is "Afghanistan?".

Yeah, the tapes flesh out the story and there are conversations there but in-game he feels like a dis-interested shell of a character.

GZ's enemy AI isn't as good as this one and yes, sneaking suit and the storm weather in GZ help.
