Move a little further away it doesn't work sometimes if you're right on top of him.
yeah, its frustrating during a mission when you are presented with the opportunity to do something risky that could 1) be totally badass and play out perfectly, or 2) total FUBAR you stealth run and jeopardize a plan you've sent significant time executing.....The game desperately needs a manual save option
This game.... like, genuinely, this. Game.
Absolutely fantastic work.

They've drove off with the prisoner, should I give chase or clear this place out first?

How do you pass time in the game? eg; wait till its night time if its morning or vice versa.
Now that's how you do a prologue. Beautiful.

On mission 17. The latest tape I found wasIn the same mission, I overheard two guards talking and I think of them said heSpandau Ballet - True.. This is dark.was going to give his own child to a trafficker (to become a child soldier?)
Just hold L1 when near him.
best tapes
Ah goddamit, they killed one of them
How could I have avoided that? Been faster?

In those scenarios I end up playing it safe (not taking big risks) because I don't want to start from square one if the mission goes to hell.
It would be ideal to be able to save so that you can take chances, and then simply reload if it doesn't play out as you hoped... Sure, penalize me in the ranking for loading a quick save, but whatever... the option should be there.
Is this a story mission? I heardI loved the fight with Quiet
I just dropped suppy boxes on her
noob question. How do you design your motherbase?
Quick question, it's not at all a story spoiler but I'll tag it just in case...
Story Mission 4 (or 3?):The one where I have to destroy communications equipment. I went with what was probably the intended method of C4 on 3 white satellite dishes, but I also saw a bigger black satellite in the middle of the camp. Could I have blown that one up to take out all of the others? Are there any other way to finish this mission than C4? Kaz keeps saying do it however you want so I'm curious what the other possibilities are.
I also interrogated some dudes, one told me about a special soldier but I couldn't find him. Does anyone know where that guy was?
So I didn't get too far past the (amazing!) prologue last night, but I'm already getting that anxiousness that I also got with Ground Zeroes. I just have such a hard time spotting enemies, and always end up walking out right in front of one. I think my problem is that I am always trying to rush through zones for some reason, instead of taking it safe and slow. I totally forgot about playing music though. That's exactly how I got through GZ. I just put Love Deterrence acoustic on repeat and it really helped. I really would love to be able to beat a mission with no sightings though. Maybe I need to play like some of you and just reload last checkpoint if I'm sighted.
Also, I really don't enjoy going house to house picking up materials. I assume they're important later though, so I'm doing it. I look forward tolater tonight when I get home.rescuing Kaz
The bigger satellites are anti-air radars. Destroying themopens up more landing zones for the helicopter.

40 hour mid game report. I am at mission 20 so still have a long way to go. I enjoy replaying missions for ranks and stuff so that is why I am so slow.
Doesn't need to be said again but in terms of gameplay this is a monumental game for stealth games. I have never experienced such gameplay freedom. Never played a game where both stealth and action are equally as fun and unpredictable. This is one of the most fun games to play that I have ever experienced. The missions keep getting more and more elaborate. The way enemies develop new tactics is super impressive. This is almost the game of my dreams.
But it is not quite there because this game seems to be missing an important ingredient of MGS games and what I expect of my favorite games. I want my games to break up the normal flow with exciting moments, usually boss fights handle this. In MGS games of the past the story served as a hype machine for those awesome boss and scripted action moments. It was the perfect blend of the stealth gameplay with the unpredictable bosses and situations that made this my second favorite franchise.
MGSV is lacking in that area. The story is mostly in the background with almost no interesting characters. The unique cast is support team members or bosses is missing. I have fought two bosses in 40 hours, not exactly the ratio I was looking for. Yes there was an incredible moment mid game, and I am sure there will be more but it's spread out too far.
That's all that is missing, a sense of energy pushing you forward. Unique surprising moments that break the flow of the normal gameplay. I am not saying this game doesn't have those, I feel it could use more. It's a shame cause with this gameplay the level of creativity in boss design should have been taken to a new level.
I enjoy the base management, it gives a nice steady flow of progress. I have never once felt the need to grind, though I do fulton everything. In terms of replayability this game is off the charts, finding alternate ways to finish missions is a blast, also trying to get high on those leaderboards as well. I have yet to even unlock FOB which will consume my soul I assume.
So as of now it's a flawed masterpiece. Maybe it ends in the most spectacular way possible, who knows. Either way this is easily my GOTY.

you can set custom soundtrack stuff for the idroid right? I need to be able to play darude - sandstorm during sandstorms.
also how long do people stay down after being held up? I held up a guy and I swear he stayed on the ground for like 20 minutes, and only got back up because I triggered an alert.
