Haha, I think I fell inside the animal containing facility for carnivores and literally can't climb out of it. I can't find any ladders. I know I'm probably just blind and am just missing something obvious but holy shit haha. Just gonna use the checkpoint thing, feeling kinda sick so I don't trust my ladder-finding skills.

Rising is a FANTASTIC game. I agree.

Ah, ok. Being completely ignorant to non-MGR Raiden I was worried there.

You can climb up some vents or cracks in stone walls, so keep an eye out for them. The vents are definitely around Mother Base.

I haven't been to that area though so maybe you're right.

I don't get it. What the hell at Medical Platform?! Is Snake Hallucinating? Is Kojima retconning again?

Seriously. How is she alive? Can someone explain to me please...

Yeah I finally got this cutscene in the medical bay place.

why does kojima keep forcing paz onto us? Is it for some loli lovers? she just looks stupid and out of place in this game which is more serious and less clowny than peace walker.

She is just an annoying character and keeping her dead in the chopper explosion wouldve sufficed.

Ahh I'm an idiot I got things mixed up dude my b..

Wat, it was ridiculous, but that's fine because opinions and all

Well, I don't know... I think Raiden finally returning to his family, meeting his son for the first time and deciding to be a father and a husband to his family was endearing.

"I'm done running".

The last shot with the family hugging is, in my opinion, one of the best shots in the franchise. :)

Quiet's mid air grenade feature is fucking bad ass. I chucked a stun towards a group of 3 soldiers and ordered her to shoot it. It propelled at them and blasted them all down.

S ranked mission 23 by doing only 2 objectives. It seems its either doing everything, or do the main thing fast and silent.

Given the amount of dialogue each character has, I actually think that replacing Zimmerman as Ocelot is an even bigger loss than Hayter. He talks constantly and all I can think about is how much cooler it would be to have Zimmerman giving me directions over the radio.

(Very minor, early game Ocelot scene spoilers)
There's a scene on Mother Base where they do a call back to that 'The engraving offers you no tactical advantage whatsoever' scene from Snake Eater, and Troy Baker's delivery of "You're pretty good!" is the single most disappointing thing in the game so far.

What are the rewards for completing sub missions? They're not necessary for S rank, do you get something else?

Is there one? A lot of them seem like the reward itself, making sure you extract special individuals or get that hidden GNP.

S ranks are based primarily on time, and the GNP you get for attaining those scales to the rank.

I'm actually quite disappointed. I remember that I was mighty impresse with Baker as Ocelot during the Afghanistan trailer, when he shouts "Now go, let the legend come back to life!". During this scene, Baker was CLEARLY imitating Pat Zimmerman's Ocelot accent.

But throughout the game this is not consistent. Not only does Ocelot NOT look like Ocelot, he also doesn't sound like him.....

You know you're right. I do remember him saying that line in a more rough manner like Zimmerman would do in the trailer. In the game that line was so underwhelming to me. Just seemed like some goofy dude yelling it at me.

As a big Hayter fan I thought that Snake's changes would dissapoint me the most. But while I don't think Keifer is going to win any awards, the biggest dissapointment has actually easilly been Ocelot. It's not all because of Troy, but because of his change in design and personality. He barley resembles the Ocelot I know at all. Like the arguably most important character in the entire series has been reduced to a pat-you-on-the-back buddy in voice and looks.

A shame too, because seeing Ocelot's development in each MGS is one of the prime reasons why I play them.

Troy Baker's "You are pretty good" and Sutherland's "Kept you waiting huh" were both fucking terrible.

Really don't like not being able to do anything when spotted in a car.

Ive never bothered with vehicles in this game.
They are just not fun to drive.

I just prefer the horse. Heck BB is more mobile and fun to traverse with so sometimes I just dash from helicopter out towards my marker (even if it takes longer).

it's the worst voice acting in the series imo. when they're not busy phoning it in like kiefer did we got ocelot and kaz sounding almost exactly the same. i can rarely tell who's addressing me on the radio without context. a good thing the new mechanics make this game so addicting to play, it's the best MGS game on the gameplay side imo. so I can forgive it's story presentation shortcomings

It's funny how she's a decade older, and still looks like a teenager in underwear. Oh Kojima...

I know it's been discussed already, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT that
hidden door in the medbay!
How is something so huge was hidden like that?

Anybody else feel that non-lethal is not really viable way? At least for me, so far.

Tranq pistol only keeps them asleep for what it seems to be like 10 minutes, afterwards.. they wake up and I think they alert somebody? In any case, they're back and returning to their patrols. Same goes for knocking them out. It doesn't leave you very long to get in and do what you have to do.

I did hit L1 on a flying bird (a Raven) and Ocelot brought up how he has heard about Shamen up in the artic viewing those as God's or Totems. Just a tiny bit of MGS1 foreshadowing.

It was hidden for me until you mentioned it :(((

I'm stuck on something after mission 20:
The Man on Fire.
Any tips?
I tried c4'ing the water towers but only one got him.
Does anyone remember Kaz saying something about the relationship between
Zero and Skullface
? I can't remember what was said, something along the lines of
Skullface has gone rogue as Zero has gone into hiding.
Anyone have a clearer idea.

Took me awhile to figure this out. Use the explosive containers. I tried using the
water gun, and failed miserably.

It got me quite a few times before I realized that it's just a straight up miss on the voice acting in this bit. It's supposed to be like "You're going to extract him?!" but it just doesn't come out that way. He doesn't emphasize the "Him" strongly enough, so it just comes out confusing.
I must be crazy then, because I thought it was very clear what he meant the first time he said it.

How do I invade someone else's FOB? I've looked on google and can't find any info on how to actually initiate the invasion process. No spoilers please.

Wish there was a way to do FOB without losing resources or men. Right now I'm too damn scared to use it when the opportunity will arise.

Me too. I was so disappointed in Kojima when it didn't work. I took it into the mission as a goof and I was so happy that it seemed like the perfect moment to have it.

I don't even know how I beat
him. I think he tripped into the resevoir and evaporated.

I have a bionics, cybernetics, huey emmerich and the most advanced bionic prosthetic sonar/stun/rocketu punchu arm.

...And kaz is still without an arm and has a walking stick. Talk about having to live under the shadow of big boss lol. Why no love for kaz, R & D division?

There's a tape about how Kaz
chooses to go limbless to remember his fallen comrades. Talk about hyper dramatic!

They explain it, somewhere.

He likes the hurt.
