So, I have a feeling about Miller (just finished mission 12)

He's fucking paranoid about everything, and he doesn't approve some things BB does. I think we will come to a breakdown sometime in the future.

Well in one cassette tape he basically says
that he thinks Big Boss is part of the problem
so even if he doesn't split from BB by the end of the game it's pretty obvious how they could split in the future etc.

My thoughts:
Considering the push-back he had for Quiet (Which included two kill-copters ready to fire as soon as she arrived), I think it's safe to say that he's more venemous than Big Boss at this point.

So did Kojima forget or drop the serious injury treatment thing from prologue I even seen a tips screen for it but never once had to do it in game. I been prattling around past hour or so jumping from heights explosions and stuff and nothing.

When you begin except the first 2 that you refer to, there are also 3 targets below you, 2 of them hiding behind poles or something like that i think and there is also one just below the ledge where you begin. Press triangle on the ledge drop down and shoot those 3 targets, then go back up and take the stairs to the left :P.
Sorry it is indeed complicated and it needs a lot of practice.

Btw one thing that also annoyed me was that when you die, because you fell from a platfom for example all the side ops that you did on Mother base are not saved so you have to do them again.Fuuuu....

Jesus christ, man. What a horribly designed challenge.

I really enjoyed all the Target Practices but that one is a fucking nightmare.

Thanks for the tips anyway. And you can shoot while hanging from a ledge?!

It's there but you have to get damaged a lot for it to happen.

Nope, it's still in there. It has only been triggered one time for me though.

It's there but seems to take a lot to actually kick in. Like being mauled by a bear.

Well I had to use First aid 3 time and had to put my arm back in place once.

where's the best place to hide bodies other than dumpsters and running to the edge of the map?

Behind buildings or inside buildings with doors is cool. Plus in/behind grass seems okay.

Or just fulton them when everyone is looking the other way and more than 20 feet away :)

I'm up to Mission 7 and
still no sign of Quiet. I've heard that one conversation about her being near the power plant like a million times and Ocelot started talking about her over the radio at one point but he got cut off. I went up to the power plant and no sign. Am I jumping the gun or am I missing something?

Oh and yeah, greatest game ever.

edit: Oh, I don't want to know exactly what to do, just whether or not I need to wait.

Okay, I was wrong about Quiet, she's basically too good. The covering fire she supplies, especially once you are able to control it with the "cover me" command, is insane. On most ordinary outposts, small to medium, I can just start tranqing people from afar, once someone becomes alarmed, hit cover me and go in and mop up. Within moments the entire base is snoozing/dead. Even somewhat large bases.

You have a while I think. I don't know if the game sends you, I honestly just looked it up for the hell of it.

Big hint
it's in a place with ruins in the name. I don't remember the exact title but I'm pretty sure only one area has the name "ruins" in it.

I'm pretty torn on her. While her design is lolworthy, she's actually pretty bad ass.

I really, really think that instead of using easy mode and shit like that, Kojima thought it best to use it as a gameplay choice through the buddy system (besides the horse) and some overpowered weapons.

thanks, oh and i forgot to ask if people eventually wake up from being unconscious.

Yes they do, but depends what you did to them.

> CQC throw = 1-2 minutes KOd
> choked unconscious = 5 minutes KOd (same as Tranq Dart)
> 5 hit combo = 10+ minutes KOd
> CQC combo (throw a guy then throw another and another etc) = more KO time for each guy thrown (first thrown guy will still be up in one or two minutes)

You can't have missed her if you got to the power plant. When you enter the ruins west of the power plant (on the way to them, you can't land nearer till you've beaten her) you trigger Main Op 11.

what the hell, no wonder i'm fucking up. i know it was like this in the previous games, but i'm pretty sure it was indefinite in Ground Zeroes.

Yeah, that's where I've landed. I love what I've seen of the character in action so far, but that fucking outfit...ugh.

What's this I head about throwing a smoke grenade over the cage on the medical platform & then calling the chopper? Is that bullshit or does it do something?

MGS spoiler
that's right he pulls off his mask in the codec right? ( sorry haven't played it in AGES.

*Sunglasses*

D-D never stays put. Some areas I want to scout myself or take out guards but D-D will follow me regardless of telling hin to stay.

I fought a bear and it rekt my arm. The serious injury treatment pop up.

No unfortunately you can't shoot while hanging from a ledge, it would be very helpful though.

Some of the shotgun weapons aren't what you'd think from typical games. The effective range is pretty far. You can one hit kill (or knock down armored people) from a pretty good distance without needing a headshot. Shotgun is definitely a good option for going loud.

Better than the absolutely beastly grenade launcher, though? Probably not, but sometimes you can't use the grenade launcher, like if you don't want to kill everyone nearby (prisoners, desirable guards, etc)

What about the stun arm???

Is this game OK to jump right in if you know nothing about the MGS series? The stealth aspect interests me and I'm tempted to buy it, however, the last one I played was Snake Eater back in the day!

It's also worth pointing out that if a soldier finds a stunned / unconscious comrade, they will wake them.

Haha, good luck! The best way is to hold them up, and tell them to 'Get down'. They will stay face-down forever, until a base alert or somebody finds them.

Best strategy is tranq or strangle a guy, carry him somewhere quiet/secret, kick him to wake him up, and point your gun at him immediately. You'll immediately say 'Freeze' and the guy will turn onto his front. Then he'll stay there forever until alert etc. You can also interrogate him once he's there.

Edit: also as danowat says above, if an enemy finds any KOd/sleeping guard, they will wake them up. If you're clever you can place KOd guards and use them as a distraction to get even more guards :)

And remember if there are two guys within a few feet of each other, you can throw one and CQC-chain-throw the other one immediately, no alert if you do it right.

anyone know how to use the stun upgrade for the bionic arm? I strangely can't figure it out.

Press down like to choose you Tranq Gun/Secondary Weapon, then press it again to swap to Bionic Arm. Bionic Arm is like your other Secondary Weapon. Or hold down to bring both up as an option.

With the Bionic Arm equipped, aim it like a gun and hold the 'Fire' button.

Deffo jump in man. Especially if you played Snake Eater. Read a synopsis of Peace Walker, it's the only link you're missing.
