Fuck, the game just hardlocked my PS4. Was coming around a cliff corner with D-Horse a and everything crashed, had to unplug. Hopefully not the first of many :(

I thought I did that. Does any sort of cutscene need to happen before?

I'm not sure. There might be a waiting period, actually, after you
rescue him.

I only had one hardlock in 60 hours of play, so hopefully it's the last.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

Aw man that sucks.

My total play time is around 34 hours and i didn't had a single crash so far. Better not say it too loud lol.

Just accidentally figured out that while on the map you can use the dpad to quickly call for supplies, extraction chopper, putting quiet at a certain place, etc.

I'm happy that Kojima himself was the architect of such a drastic change for the series.

Think of how the fanbase would react if MGS6 sans-Kojima was the first open world MGS? Would not be pretty.

Wow really? so many options.

I destroyed the water tower with C4.

I didn't even know you could do this till my friend told me.

I ran around for a while getting hurt constantly until I slammed into him with a jeep, whilst on fire, screaming.

He poofed and the end mission cutscene had snake covered in blood and dirt with charred arms

I felt so fucking badass

There seems to be a lot of spoilers in the last 2 pages. At least one location and one boss fight spoiled. Spoilertag that type of discussion people.
I
Side Ops are padded like a motherfucker. More than 10 missions that consist of extracting a prisoner/extracting a soldier/taking out some heavy guards. The general mission and base design is incredibly well done, as expected from KP, but the Ubisoft-style bland open world with repetitive tasks kinda sours it.
The beauty is in how many different ways you can accomplish the tasks imo. I guess almost every mission I've played so far, both main and side, has been about extracting somone/something or taking someone out. But they've all played out in wildly different ways.

So uh Mission 11.
Went exploring and triggered this during free roam. Holy crap. Anyway, I am having a bad time of it! No tranq rifle, oh em gee. Tips...!?
The hard way?
snipe her

The easy way?

drop supplies on her after spotting her with your scope

So what are the odds we get a patch that allows us to disable the intro credits? I really don't want to know who is going to be in which "episode" - it really spoils it.

What a fantastic game. I would generally sneak past things in previous mgs', but it's just so exhilarating to destroy everyone. I planted a C4 on the back of a car and as it drove off I triggered the explosion, and started a shooting spree. Running in and out of buildings as bullets wizz by me.

Also, nothing greater than listening to Rebel Yell while doing all of the above.

The performances are all great so far.

Have I encountered a bug?

Quiet became usable as a buddy after a cut-scene where it was made clear that she couldn't yet be my buddy. Also, I've never used Quiet, yet my "affinity" score is a B.

There is a super easy way
to beat her- mark her and then call in a supply drop right on top of her. do this twice and it completely depletes her stamina and you win without having to fire a shot.

The way I did it was
flank her by stealthing around to her sides and shooting her with the tranq gun from a reasonable distance. Alternatively you can just shoot her because the boss battle ends with you either saving her or killing her.

Thanks!
But if I don't knock her out it's an auto-death for her, right? I definitely want her on my side.

Beat the game today, now it's off to the achievements checklist :D

This is easily the best stealth I've played in a game There's so many variables and ways to approach missions, but it's not broken or stupidly difficult. It's about knowing your surroundings, being patient and agile.

I'm really looking forward to exploring the game some more, not just listening to tapes again, just trying different things in the world and seeing what happens. I've only been using the WU silenced pistol, and a tranq sniper, but most of my neutralisation have been CQC and that's a lot more fun.

So I failed
emergency mission 22, with the hostages on the R&D platform.
Will I never get a shot at that again, and if I don't, is there story stuff I missed.

After
Mission 31. You'll know when, because the credits will roll. Replay missions will be marked, and completing a good number of them is necessary for seeing the remainder of the story content. There are also new missions after Mission 31, though.
Thanks for that, one more thing.
Can I play all the new missions after 31 without having to do the replay ones?

I failed it as well. You can attempt the mission again. However
I don't know what impact that has on mother base, like whether you lose hostages for each attempt or something. I don't imagine it's that unfair...

Hey Guys, no character or story spoilers just gameplay ones with your Mother Base Building, I'm really early on like Mission 4 or 5?

So I just unlocked being able to build extra struts but I don't have enough Metal or Fuel things to do it. I have bucketloads of GMP, is there a reliable way of farming up the materials needed to build the extra parts? I've just taken to assaulting random guard towers and villages but I feel like eventually this will run out quickly?

I will say I suck at stealth in this game. But when it becomes a shit show it can be hilarious.

Sneak all around. Mark tons of guys and make one false move. Then its go time. I dove into two guys, swept them off their feet from the prone position, and kicked them both in the balls.

Only time the game crashed on me was yesterday I wanted to show my friend the intro so I changed to a different profile on the PS4 and started a new game and it crashes every time the screen comes up to put in your name and birthday. Might be a weird bug or they purposely made it so you can only have one save data on the PS4

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Just when you thought the game was over...You see
Coming in Chapter 2
. I knew there had to be more LOL! I should've used another vacation day for tomorrow. DAMN THIS GAME!

So Side Op 144 where the hell is
body
?
Searched for over an hour in the zone.
Is this the man on fire's body? If so it's around the middle of the base surrounded by walls. It's just lying on the floor looking burned. You need to get rid of all enemies before you can interact with it though.

I was in the same situation, doesn't seem to be any need to farm (yet at least). I did one side op and maybe one main OP and that gave me enough to build one extra platform. I went with the one that increases your material gains (can't remember the name), and not 1 full main mission later I've been able to add 2 extra platforms.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
After I've gotten buddies at the motherbase, are you actually able to visit the!? I can never find anything around that place.
