Arkham Knight PC patch out. 626mb (9/3/15) [Patch 1]

Game runs really well on my GTX 960 4G, and reading the other posts I'd say the developers of this game just took a huge crap on 2GB cards, basically telling everyone to buy a 4GB or more cards.

Still stutters horrifically on my 280X.

$20 down the drain. Hell, even if it ran flawlessly, I'm busy having fun at the moment with a game that looks great and runs at a perfect framerate. I think I don't really want to play this game anymore.

2 GTX 780s in SLI here, game doesn't see my second card even though SLI is enabled. The 3GBs of the first card fill up so easy, I think it's a mistake on their end - I am sure I had cranked everything to high before the patch, and the game launched and played without issue (minus the stuttering of course).

Also it took about a minute to start.

But overall performance is better. Mostly rock solid 60fps.

Running really well on my system. I played for about 1.5 hr. No crashes.

GI6JgXX.jpg

Took 4.3GB/12GB VRAM with everything on max including NVIDIA effects @ 2560x1440

4930k @ 4.5ghz
Titan X
16GB RAM
Win 8.1
ROG Swift (GSYNC)

I had fraps running during my session:

2015-09-03 22:19:19 - BatmanAK
Frames: 216480 - Time: 3004157ms - Avg: 72.060 - Min: 37 - Max: 92

I did everything from combat missions, Batmobile driving, and Riddle missions. Averaged 72 fps as you can see above. Felt good.

First off Specs:

Intel 4790K
Nvidia GTX 980
16 GB RAM
SSD
Win 10
Gsync (so vsync not needed)

Before the patch I was generally between 30-40 FPS with everything maxed except for the nvidia smoke. I had all of the stuff reported here. Rain effects missing, bad textures, stuttering, and massive frame rate drops for no reason. If I dove as batman while gliding I would drop from 55 fps to the high 30's. I am letting the game run at 90 FPS now and it never goes below 60 FPS for me in the same spots as before with everything maxed except for no Nvidia smoke. Looks like I will be replaying this right away!

I don't have 4gb card :(

If anyone want my key, PM me an reasonable offer (like 18$, I'm only minimizing my loss).. its seem the game would go to waste for me.

Have there been any significant reports of improvement for SLI users?

From what I've read in a number of threads, it seems like progress is being made.
I have a Titan X SLI config, and this game ran like complete garbage prior to this update.

So, here's to improvements... I hope.

SLI doesn't work like that. The same assets get loaded in both cards, and they take turn rendering frames.

It doesn't add your ram together into a 6gb pool.

This is correct.

However in DX12 i believe they are moving towards combining RAM in Xfire or SLI.

Sorry, it's just that GTAV (and another game which I don't remember right now) gave me a 6GB limit once I installed the second 780. Previously I only had 3GB.

i72600k, 970sli 1080p everthing enabled the game runs terrible. Driving around the game freezes alot and always drops to 40s. This game was never stable the few minutes I just played.

I have never heard of anyone playing at 90fps. I thought it usually went 30/60/120?

It is, as well as 144. It's sort of baffling cap option. Only people that could really take advantage would probably be Gsync users.

Though not like any rigs out there really running it at 90 locked anyway it seems.

Just tried it out, definitely seemed to be running better but then crashed.

I never had trouble with crashes before :/

i7 2600k @ 4.4 Ghz
GTX 980 Ti @ 1474 Mhz core / 7604 Mhz memory
8 GB DDR3 1600 RAM
Crucial MX100 SSD 512 GB (OS)/ Crucial M500 SSD 960 GB (Where the game is installed)
Windows 10 64-bit

Playing it on my 1080p TV with everything maxed and every nVidia setting on. I don't think I have seen the game fall below 60 FPS yet and I played for an hour and a half. I am really pleased with this patch :) . Absolutely no hitching or stuttering either.

You should definitely use Nvidia DSR since you have alot of headroom, at 2880x1620 i haven't dipped below 60fps once with everything maxed :)

So, this doesn't actually fix anything. I didn't experience the game at launch, but there is enough information and video evidence available to know what many of the problems were. Just fired this up with settings set to normal and no NVIDIA effects turned on, aaaaaaaaaaaand just turning the camera at the beginning of the game drops the performance from 60 to 30. Trash

It actually fixed performance for a lot of people, it practically removed stuttering. Maybe because you haven't experience the broken mess at first?

Cross post from the PC performance thread. I'd test it out more but I already beat it on PS4 and just want to keep playing Metal Gear. I'd wait for some more thorough tests from others, might just be something on my PC being shitty.

Well initial impressions is that it's better but still pretty dogshit (for me at least). The game takes a full minute or more to start and still doesn't properly close when I quit, have to kill via task manager. With all NVIDIA stuff off but all the other settings turned up I dip down to as low as 33fps in the batmobile, which is better than the 15 before. Gliding around the city, again is much better. With the framerate capped to 90 and vsync off I get as high as 80fps and as low as mid 40's flying around. It also is seemingly pushing my RAM and CPU to near max, while only pushing my GPU to about 45% power.

I've got a 980ti, 17-2600k @ 4.4, 8GB RAM, and Windows 10.

Very curious to see how this patch is for others. It's absolutely made things better, but it's still fairly brutal to play.

Holding off for now sure there trying but goddamn still not how it should be.

If some are getting 60 with no drops maxed out on a 970 as they claim, surely I'd be able to get 60 with no issues with everything to normal. At least...you'd think

Did you try to reinstall the game? Maybe delete the configs if you messed around with them before.

I deleted the game and it's folders/files from my SSD about a week ago in frustration so I had to reinstall the entire game when the patch came out. My performance was pretty bad before the patch (frame drops to 40, stuttering) but now it's running silky smooth.

This is my very first time downloading and playing the game. Had it since launch but never bothered because of all the issues.

I patched the game and now once the game loads I just see my Batmobile frozen and my computer hard crashes or crashes to desktop with some Fatal Error shit. A work of art.

i7 4.0 GHz
8GB RAM
980 Ti
SSD with Windows 10

This game can get fucked.

The game berates me for not having the latest NVIDIA drivers, which I have. If I put Shadows on High, I get MAJOR flickering and distorted geometry all over the screen. I loaded a saved game (with Shadows on Normal) and it immediately CTDed.

Yeah, fuch this game. I don't even want to play it anymore.

Before patch, the game was broken for everyone, which was clearly WB's fault.

Now, we are going back to PC gaming safe zone. The game is running well for most gamers, except a few people. These people should investigate if the problem is now on their side.

How are you making this call after only it being out a couple hours? There are plenty of people in this and the PC Performance thread, including myself, who are worse off. The game was playable for me before this patch.

Did you tune something before ? Then, you should clean your config files as suggested.

I'm running a 970 4Gb, i5-2500k @ 4.0, 8GB RAM, and Windows 7.

Arkham Knight still runs terribly for me. Took a grand total of six minutes for the game to become unplayable with the game freezing and hitching even while just on foot. When I brought in the Batmobile it got even worse and gliding around Gotham proved to be just as troublesome.

The game does run better than before but still nowhere near being acceptable for a release from a studio like this. I don't have any of the Gameworks enabled, fps set to 60, everything else on high, motion blur turned off (I don't care for it personally), and my fps is all over the place. Anytime I do anything other than walk in a basic environment it starts to dip and will suddenly start to freeze up with the audio cutting out completely at times.

When I closed the game out my system nearly crashed entirely as my RAM usage was through the roof when I checked task manager to make sure everything was actually closed.

Glad this seems to have done the trick for others but I'm also pretty annoyed that I still can't play something Warner Bros. saw fit to release two months ago.

I only had time to do the in-game benchmark this morning.

I got minimum 32 (seemed to come once at the beginning of the benchmark), maximum 95 and average 67.

This is with all settings maxed and nvidia extra goodies enabled.

specs: 3570k@4.6, 16 gb ram, titan x, installed on ssd, 750ti as dedicated physx
