It's a possibility but in a series where even when you get burned alive but still come back to life, you really never know, lol.
If we somehow get another Venom game, one way I could see her coming would be an illusion sequence akin to the one in the film Gravity.
Getting to see V and Quiet actually have a decent conversation for the first time giving him the opportunity to thank her, but tragically realize it was just some near death fever dream.
Man, this pretty much goes to show how much I want a crazy schizophrenic V Snake.

Dear Kojima:

Being "subversive" only works when the end results surpasses the fans' spectations.

It doesn't work when the story underdelivers.

I'm not speaking about the gameplay, which is awesome, but about the plot.

I played the entire game, and not a single time I felt the same enthusiasm and hype I felt while watching all of the trailers. Some scenes weren't even there. The "taboo" themes like the training of child soldiers were either absent or fell incredibly short. Instead we got half-naked lady taking a shower and splashing around in puddles of rain.

"Men become demons".
"Kaz, I'm already a demon".

These phrases mean absolutely nothing in the actual game. They sounded cool in trailers, sure, but when did Venom Snake become a demon? Just because he has a 'horn' in his head? That's it? In fact Venom was always pretty quiet and calm, and came up as a pretty good guy more often than not.

It's amazing how Portable Ops is more of the legendary "missing link" than this game, which is supposed to be Kojima's Magnum Opus.

so if the metal gear thingie needed psycho mantis to power it, and mantis abandons volgon at okb 0 or whatever the base was called

how did skullface control metal gear the first time you meat the skulls at the ruins

With Mantis presumably.

Mantis was working for Skullface from after the prologue to "WHOOOOOOOOOO?"

Big Boss sees Mantis floating past him in that cutscene, so it's Mantis.

The most useless, annoying plot in the game was Paz. What was the point of that? I don't get what Kojima was going for, there was no pay off at the ending. First her death is retconned, then you help her remember her past.. so she claws her intestines out and dies? That made me happy more than anything. Good riddance. You can't write a sad story and expect sympathy for one of the worst characters in the Metal Gear universe.

It doesn't make a lot of sense.

But then a single medic managed to beat her too, so anything's fair game lol.

True... but then again, getting close to Big Boss and infiltrating Diamond Dogs was part of her mission, so it's not unreasonable to think that she may have thrown that fight somewhat.

MG and MG2 establish Big Boss as an asshole villain for sure. We just don't see the reason why he becomes that villain but considering what happened in Peace Walker, maybe he decided to take it to the next level as revenge for that. lol

Are you sure all the child soldiers and "hostages" in Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land weren't just telling elaborate and convincing lies as told by Hynotic Ocelot? How do we know big boss is a true villain asshole?! Did Big Boss really invade countries and steal their nukes? Or did those countries willingly donate their weapons and land to the glorious and virtuous Vic Boss?!

Also, MGSV is basically kinda like the S3 plan from MGS2, the Solid Snake Selection one, lol

They took a close friend of the boss, a guy that didn't have that much in the way combat skills and gave him Boss experiences and identity and made him into Big Boss kinda like how they made Raiden into Solid Snake, lol.

What is all this? Can I get a quick run-down?

Google Ingsoc kojima.

It's possibly connected to this channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb5x-Slr7N0 because it has featured a black dog in various videos, including that one way back in 2013.
That video has some stuff about Phantom Pain that wasn't even made public until later. It's really weird. IN THAT VIDEO IT SAYS BB IS NOT BB! When it says "Look closely!", and then it swaps BB's face for Ishmael for a split second, it shows the hair makes no shadow, that was two years ago.

It is definitly connected to the twitter account #kojimalives and at some point it had a header that said A ##### ###### Game, and had morse code sounds that said "Is there such a thing as a timeless enemy?" which is a The Boss quote.

Ingsoc is the propaganda organization in Orwell's 1984, which Kojima said had a lot of references in MGSV (especially Miller who goes all Big Brother-like at the start of chapter 2).

The strangest thing is that Ingsoc.org site was registered a few days before the Kojima/Konami split was made and has been kind of telling us that somehow, it's not quite over.

The Omega channel has been pointing at some Miller-related shenanigans, it's unclear really.

I haven't completed the Quiet storyline till the end but why can't they cure her using the parasite used to cure everybody else? Also doesn't removing the larynx apparently also act as a cure? Doesn't Ocelot mention in one of the tapes that the language parasite would be relatively easy to deal with for advanced nations once the cause is known hence why he speculates that Cipher originally intended to use it more for smaller less developed groups? In which case how would Skullface's plan to eradicate English succeed?

Big Boss' final speech in peace walker was more of a sign that he was going evil than anything that happened in MGSV if you ask me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMilA34KGXw

They should retcon that speech.

"They're going to try to kill me, and all of you.

I fucked up guys, I built a nuke, they want me dead.

If I'm honest I'm getting tired of this shit, I need a vacation...

but I won't abandon you... for about another year.

Please sent me a cool leather jacket with a logo on it when I'm gone

Peace, I'm out"

What is all this? Can I get a quick run-down?

It's nothing. A fake thing made by some guy. Ignore it.

Or fall down the Metal Gear conspiracy hole if now that MGSV is out and all the conspiracy theories with Quiet and Hayter have been debunked you need something to do.

Her death wasn't retconned, Venom was hallucinating and trying to cope with his guilt about her death in failing to prevent it.

Don't say it's fake when you have no facts. That youtube channel was ahead of everyone with the whole Ishmael/BB thing, and even more with the 1984/Ingsoc connections. And Ingsoc being registered a few days before the Kojima/Konami split. We'll see soon.

Heck, a year ago, look at the youtube video descriptions. It said "The Truth Is Lying"

Definitely.

In fact, a HUGE issue with this, is that in the PW speech Big Boss sounds like a commander who will face the entire world alongside his brothers-in-arms. He won't run away, he will stay with them, fighting.

And then after the events in Ground Zeroes one year later, Big Boss simply decides that his speech means jack fuck. He goes into hiding abandoning his men to become targets, including his "best soldier".

They should retcon that speech.

"They're going to try to kill me, and all of you.

Pretty much this.

Ishmael/BB stuff was speculated since we first knew about the game. People noticed that Ishmael sounded a looooot like Kiefer and then speculated from that. Then did even more regarding the medic when his voice was Kiefers pitched down and we never see his face.

The whole 1984 stuff could be because it takes place in 1984, something we've also known for a while. Registering stuff a few days before the split is coincidence. Why not on the same day it was announced? Or the day after? Or a few months before?

Oh, and I don't subscribe to the "she went off to die" theory. Quiet was already chock-full of parasites, there's no guarantee the vocal chord parasites would have even harmed her. I mean, don't they attack a person's lungs? As far as I remember, Quiet's lungs aren't really there anymore, at least in terms of critical life function.

Quoting for a new page and something else I just thought of. Her message at the end about becoming quiet could also mean she chose to remove her larynx, as that was another listed cure, and she wouldn't have much use for it anyway.

This will get a little pretentious but it is genuinely how I feel.

There is a difference between playing an established character and an avatar character. It's the difference between Witcher and Skyrim. In the first example I take on the persona and ambitions of someone else. It's as if I am watching someone else's story and helping along the way. In the later example I am making my own story and my actions are my own.

While playing the game I was building Diamond Dogs as Big Boss. It never felt like it belonged to me as a player. I was building it as Big boss would but inevitably I did get attached to all the NPCs I hand-picked from the battlefield. It absolutely crushed me when they started dying from the parasite and made the missions leading to code-talker much more intense. And of course having to personally kill them later made me feel horrible. However, there was always a buffer because I thought this was Big Boss's story. The twist where it turns out you were playing as an avater of yourself got rid of that buffer. It was now my story and those were my men that died. Diamond Dogs isn't the PF Big Boss made, it was my PF that I made. It made those previous feelings much more strong. Now when Miller calls me Boss he is referring to me and not Big Boss. My attitude towards the game changed drastically. It's a shame that there isn't much game left after the twist however.

If removed she would die. The parasites are what healed her skin after she got burned in the hospital. Basically they are keeping her alive by letting her breathe through her skin. Apparently her innards are all charred on the inside.

I completely agree with this. Playing TW3 i know i was playing as Geralt. It was great, because the game never pretended to be something its not just to surprise me. Way more effective imo.

I was more excited for TPP to be about BB and his road to be a villain. To have all of this messed up nightmares and delusions. To make us go through the game feeling proud of what we did, only to show us what a villain we became. I dunno... the game didn't deliver in that front. Not even close.

But i guess my expectations should not ruin the experience of the game. So at least for now. I am enjoying it.

What happened to this? Where the fuck is Solid Snake in this game??

It sucks because there are actually flashes where Kiefer nails it (mainly in tapes) but for the most part it just feels like he doesn't know what he is reading or like he doesn't want to be there. Hard to know if its on him or vocal direction or just the script being hard for anyone to make sound good.

I gotta say this game kinda confused the future story more than it cleared it up. So I get that Venom was the Big Boss from MG1...but was the real Big Boss the codec or was it venom too? Which one rejoined FOXHOUND?

Things change and dont make it into the final product. It is common and it has happened to every other MGS.

But in this case it seems like a quarter of the game did not make it into the final product ayyy lmao.

Kojima wanted a good voice actor this time.

Well, they would spoil that Solid Snake is not in the game ;)

"We have not yet finished with Solid Snake"

THE FUCK KOJIMA???

:)

You know i am working on a big thread for Team A. :D Please be excite!

I hate you :(

But at the same time you and Team B lost too :P

Exactly why should he talk about such a major character if it wasn't hammered in stone that he's in the game.

Some serious shit happened during this game's development.

Hell ? Brau goes even deeper.

Maybe there was a scene planned were the real Big Boss pays Solid Snake a visit to kill him but he decides not to, just like Venom did with Liquid.

Well, when Kojima was asked why GZ is titled "Ground Zeroes" , Kojima said: "There is more than one of them."

Now we have this site with a 9/11 counter, and we saw NYC in the cut episode 51.

!

Zero made a phantom of himself! From FOX, TWO phantoms were born! Why would Zero NOT get his own phantom? Ground Zeroes

As a long time fan of the series I can't help but be disappointed in the story wrap up. I don't know how to express my frustration in how the story developed fully.

A big part of the problem, i think, is the issue of pacing. Cassettes fully ruined pacing imo. In the past, comms links or Codecs (depending on your version) would serve as a method where Snake could communicate, which helped with pacing and tension. Conversations such as the DARPA chief dieing, snake during his interrogation (MGS1), provided tension after the cutscene. Imagine instead now instead of snake using a codec we get a cassette tape with some dialogue that has been cut from the game... after beating the mission. The feeling of tension is almost gone after the mission. The dialogue which explains important facets of the game are given at the wrong moments ruining any tension.

Code talker is a prime example. His dialogue actually is interesting, I think the parasite as a vehicle for impending disaster is just fine.... but when you get this dialogue its after the mission, after the tension has ended. So instead of relegating to a cutscene, or a commslink conversation, instead we get around 30 minutes in exposition where you have to sit and listen to it when the moment is longer tense. Its not the volume of the cassettes or having to listen to them to truly understand the story but the fact that the game fails to hold tension at all due to the cassettes being used.

The game play is fantastic and fun. its enjoy to roam around and take down enemy bases. As an open world stealth game its quite fun. But to me (Bias: I feel MGS3 is the peak of the series) it fails to provide the enjoyable story that I expect from a MGS title. Personally, i think it comes down to the open world. The transition to the open world is not compatible with mantaining the suspense and tension that it should desire to hold up to.

Gameplay 9.5/10
Story 3/10

As an aside... the story was so bad that when the revealed occurred with Quiet I just didn't care. As in I gave no fucks. I am a person loves cutscenes, loves the story and lore. I care more about the story than about whether the gameplay is amazing, I am the same person who pokes fun at people who skip cutscenes. The game was fun from a gameplay perspective but the mess of MGSV was the story leaves me with little motivation to continue on with anything after beating missions 1-47.

We'll never know but I really wanna lean towards the direction or the script when everybody sounds so strange.

Shamelessly quoting myself here:

Metal Gear Solid 6 is a game set between MGS and MGS2.

It explains that the Solid Snake we played as during MGS actually DID die of FOXDIE at the end, and the one we play as in MGS2 is some random soldier who somehow was just as good as the original, and carries on his legacy.

"It's good because it's meta!", a bunch of people would say.
