Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

Weird question, my brother and I both own a disc copy of Destiny. He has preordered The Taken King. If I play my account on his Primary Console, do I have access to Taken King content or no?

I don't think it is true. I believe if the account with the game and DLC is set as the primary account for that PS4 system, then any other accounts on that PS4 get access to it.
 
JStein, if you are wondering how to share DLC content between you and your brother:

Set your account on his PS4 as the primary account.

Set his account on your PS4 as the primary account.

Log in to both PS4's with the persons account who purchased the content and download the DLC. This can be done for full games as well.

You'll both have access now.

Yep. And he could use the one time item from TKK to jump right to level 25 if he wanted to breeze through the old story missions and get leveled up for the new content quickly.
 
So I already had the base game digitally on PS4 and I just preordered the collection digitally and there were no downloads, so do I have the older two DLCs now?
 
So there's no way for me to *just* buy all three expansions? I have the base game only, and the only option I'm seeing to get them all at once is via the $60 legendary edition (which includes the base game also). Is that right?

Yes. You now have access to those activities.

You could, but it would cost more than $60.
 
Just got back into destiny over the last couple weeks so I have a couple year one options to use an etheric light on. What gun would you guys use it on?

Word
Hopscotch
Fate
Oversoul Edict
Swordbreaker
Praetorian Foil

I play much more PvE than PvP but I do dabble in PvP from time to time.
 
OK, help, I haven't been following this thread.

Is there a seperate trophy list for the $60 version of this? Like, I have the original Destiny, with, about half of the trophies. If I buy TTK on Tuesday, does it have it's own list? Or is it just like 6 or so trophies added to the main list?
 
Is there still no other way to get Etheric Light other than LFG night falls and LFG PoE? What a pain...

I just need one more light for my Fatebringer.
 
Took a few months off when I wrapped up everything HoW had to offer, but I jumped back in on Tuesday. Soloed the NF last night since most of my old Destiny PS4 crew has not yet returned (and may not at all). Felt SOOOOOOO good to be back.

Even got around to finally leveling up my first ever Gjally that I finally had an opportunity to buy a few weeks back. 1300+ hours in the game across 5 characters, and I finally got a chance to unleash my first ever Gjally rocket. Shed a man tear.

Hit light level 170 before I logged off for the night. Got a number of the new quests near completion, though I'm holding off until TTK next week.

Edit: PSN is Mejilan if anyone would like to team up. Used to be a fairly hardcore mostly (but not exclusively) PVE player. Raids, Nightfalls, Skolas. You name it, I would religiously do almost all of it on a weekly basis across 3 toons, though I deleted my 2 alt Warlocks in anticipation of eventually rolling a new Titan and Hunter. Even managed to get the platinum trophy back in the day.

It doesn't have a separate trophy list.
 
Not to say that waving a sword at Oryx won't be a death wish, but they DID add sword clashing mechanics with 2.0. Saw a vid on YT of a clash against a Gatekeeper in the Bridge segment of Crota's End...

Gatekeeper got staggered and the sword wielding Guardian went in for the kill...

Considering we get swords as heavy weapons I think bullshit super AoE's of bosses are rare sight.

I bought the Legendary edition on a secondary account on my ps4 (made a US one in order to buy a bit cheaper), but it seems that my other accounts on the system do not have access to the DLC? I thought that accounts on the same system shared purchases provided the PS4 in question was set as the 'primary' system (which they are).

Am I doing something wrong?

Only if you set that PS4 as the accounts primary PS4.

There has been other reports TTK [its different editions] not registering to primary account when used secondary, e.g. US one, to purchase it. May be by design like that.

That would be atrocious if true. No other PS4 software I know of does that. Does anyone have experience of sharing DLC across multiple accounts on the same system?
 
Finally broke down and bought the Legendary edition due to all the hype.

Recommendations to level/gear up my level 29 Hunter for TTK? Typically like to stick to PvE.

I haven't played either of the DLC's and of course I would like to be ready for the Taken King expansion.

Going to give Destiny another try now shortly. That was the problem I had with the game. You can solo everything, or play with randoms for bits of it, so for someone like me who doesn't know a lot of online gamers I never get to build up that group. Can I still just have a good enough time flying through the rest of the content and tune out of the endgame stuff that requires much more dedication/planning/online-friends?

I've been wanting this since month one. Real shame the potential is huge. Hell... add a SMG class... dual weilding of certain pistol weapons etc. How about a few more elemental classes... add some more mele-based weaponry (like the upcoming sword that fills a heavy spot).
 
That rocket launcher they added which leaves behind a fire grenade was a good start, more weapons need to have more unique damage dealing methods attached to them.

like really the thorn is the only poison weapon still? I would have expected another gun to get DoT propaties even if it was only for PvE.
