False. I don't care if someone hates it... as long as they understand it. We literally just had people saying they didn't get the parasite stuff and it was worthless. So, if you didn't get the stuff, you missed out and shouldn't judge.
Now, if this was phrased as "I understand the parasite stuff was a precursor to nanomachines, but that whole thing was unnecessary," I wouldn't have made my initial post on the topic, explaining how the parasites tied in.
You're completely missing the point here in terms of the issues most people have with the game.
Kojima's explanations have always been bullshit, from the first game till now. However, the presentation of that bullshit has always been so magnificent and endearing that you can't help but love it.
MGSV on the other hand has all the same bullshit, but relegates the explanations to flat and boring 3 minute optional tapes.
Take for example the revelation that fortune wasn't magical in MGS2; the sheer glee ocelot has in telling her she wasn't 'lady luck' followed by proving it by shooting her in the heart. Her reaction when she realises she could have died at any time she wanted, and that her melodrama all fell right into the patriot plans of recreating the lunacy of MGS1 villains to aid their simulation.
It's a brilliant moment that i still remember vividly today, now contrast that with Code Talker's babbling on the tapes about how he stole The End's corpse and that's how the skulls have magical powers....
In MGS2 it's a magical magnet maguffin box, In MGSV it's parasites, in MGS4 it's Nano Machines.
All equally stupid deus ex machinas, HOWEVER there's a reason people were willing to accept the nonsense in the previous games, but not this time.
This goes for a lot of the 'reveals' - they're not presented in a interesting or cool way that ties in with the integral themes of the franchise that causes you to rethink your perspective on the entire franchise.
MGSV could have not existed and it would have zero bearing on metal gear in general, and that's a damn shame.
