There is a dimension where Unreal was used instead of spending money developing Fox Engine which allocated more funds and time to the singleplayer.

We External Gazer now.

In that dimension the funds actually just went to pachinko machines and cramming more microtransactions into the FOB system (and MGO shipping day one of course, with microtransactions)

they infect Eli so that they can drive all the adults off the island either through killing them or simply fear/knowledge that the parasite is there.. that's how they get control of it to do their lord of the flies schtick

Ah I see, so they really wanted to start their own little kingdom. Didn't quite understand that, only watched it once. I guess that means it was supposed to be a few months between the real end of the game and that one.

So they really are buddies on an adventure uh. I wonder how Kojima was planning to have Eli eventually join SAS and then him and Mantis join FOXHOUND.

Also, Eli already has a SAS beret, which is kind of weird.

That's one thing I never understood. Mantis infected Liquid? Why did he steal the vial? All he does is cure Liquid with his own power later, what's the vial for?

The way I understood it originally was that Eli didn't "escape" but was infected with the parasite and released, so that MB would pick him up and it would eventually kill them, something like that, and indeed as insurance in case V killed Quiet, cause he wouldn't kill Liquid, presumably.

At the end, Mantis suddenly decides to remove the parasite. Why now and not earlier (one would presume because he's not going back to MB), and why have the vial?

In the cut Mission 51 Eli escapes with the vial to an island near Africa, and then uses the parasite to clear out all the other adult inhabitants. He and his group of child soldiers are immune because they're too young. They have the island to themselves.

When Diamond Dogs and XOF are attacking the island, however, Eli is reaching puberty, which means he can become symptomatic. He is starting to die from the parasite.

It's okay though because right at the end Psycho Ex Machina cures him of the parasite and takes him off the island before Diamond Dogs can burn the place to the ground.

The cutscene at the end makes me almost glad it wasn't kept in the final game. Venom shoots Eli, dramatic "NOOOOOOOO", turns out he's ok because kevlarvestlol.

Wait, at the end of quiets plotline, if she could see pequod through the sandstorm, why didn't she just superjump onto the helicopter and point the pilot where to land?

After they burn everything on that island to the ground the real big boss shows up and it turns out the island is the same one 200 kilometers north of Galzburg, South Africa mentioned in MG1.

Yes, the end of Mission 51 is when the Snakes found their country of Outer Heaven

WOOOOAHHHHH HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

"NOOOOOO I SHOT A KID"

"Boss he's infected"

"Well on that note here is a pistol with a single bullet, go kill yourself or get napalm'd you little brat"

That would be really cool actually. From the ashes of that they build Zanzibarland.

Isn't Outer Heaven just a fortress though. Zanzibar Land is the nation.

Also, I was disappointed that they essentially just rehashed Mother Base's design from Peace Walker, now with longer roads. A completely new style would've been a lot more interesting than just another shitty oil rig in the middle of the ocean.

Well, after being forced to kill The Boss, and seeing how she was used and thrown away by the government she devoted her entire life away, disillusioned him. He broke away from the United States and formed his own military nation, to create a place where soldiers would always have a place. In time this desire devolved, as being surrounded by constant conflict and strife turned him into the warmonger he'd become.

From Metal Gear 2:

I never really felt like there was a need for Kojima to explain what happened between MGS3 and MG1, it always seemed like a natural enough route, but I did think maybe there was room to tell a story of its own in that time period, one that could be interesting for its own reasons.

Instead all we get is a bunch of dumb junk about mammal pods and wolbachia.

I couldn't agree more and its why I think the series should have ended with the third game. The best villains origins are usually left untold and this game is a perfect example of why.

I don't think she could see pequod. I think it was a demonstration of her spacial awareness.

edit: I don't think she sees him through the sandstorm, she is using Snake's iDroid.

The concept of a "fort" was already fairly obsolete by World War 2. You can just bomb that shit from the air.

Technically it makes the most sense, harder to attack and completely separate from other countries.
Basically it is it's own country if its out of territorial waters.

1024

PW's was much better.

which they ended up doing to Outer Heaven. They just needed to send Snake in to recover the scientist cuz he was important.

This game doesn't really say anything about what happened to the current MB does it? It's strictly in the middle of the sea. :|

NUCLEAR DETERRENCE BRO.

They did have a Metal Gear after all, the fortress was to stop land invasions by the local PF's and roaming African warlord bands.

Nope. The timeline specifically refers to MG1 Outer Heaven as "a military nation". I know people don't want to accept it because it makes things more confusing, but that's that.

Left to fall into ruin when Diamond Dogs abandoned it to take command of the newly formed fortress of outer heaven before ultimately being dismantled and used in the construction of Big Shell.

Vatican City is a nation. So... basically, a large base can be referred to as a military nation in this context. OH is basically still just a large base.

Those of us in this thread who feel empty after MGSV should band together and stage an invasion of Sealand and make our own Outer Heaven, with blackjack, and hookers.

because she was weak during a sandstorm there is no light, its hard to breath, and there is no water.
