I thought the Heroic can be done 3 times on the same character, same as dailies.

Well they weren't kiddin when they said all the new gear in TKK would be better then what you currently have. Even green items are at the same stats as my old legendary gear. Guess I'll just keep my exotics and roll with the new gear. Might salvage the old stuff.

Like Bungie said, people who have finished the campaign have now said they unlocked lots and lots of "The Taken War" quests and such,which all feature their own missions, etc..

That's the end game.

Also,this is a loot game, come oooooon, the game is about playing it over and over for fun and loots :D
 
Wow, so the terrible PSN speeds and downtime pushed me to XB1 a few months ago, but I'm back on my PS4 for Destiny.

I have had this update (not the 18gb one) "preparing" for over a half hour. Multiple restarts, hasn't helped

Stay classy PSN.

Are you guys new to Destiny because Dgaf has been chipping away at "end game" for months now

Well I got Thorn for free, that's cool I guess. More so since I'm leveling up a Warlock and not boosting him so it'll be nice once I hit the level to use all this free gear I'm getting lol
 
There are a buuuuuunch of missions after you finish the main story. Strikes open up as well, just did my first and it is sooo mcuh better than what was in the base game. Dreadnaught patrol with the Court of Oryx. More things I probably haven't discovered yet.
 
Saying "oh the campaign stuff is only 3-4 hours", while factually accurate, is kind of misleading considering there are a lot of quest lines that don't really open up until after you finish the main missions.
 
Those 16 completed bounties boosted me to 38 with a bunch of new loot to equip was nice. I just got to 40 but now its time for bed. The SP campaing so far has been a marked improvement over vanilla so that's a plus.
 
I saved a bunch of engrams from the last week or so and I'm getting a lot of Taken King blue weapons from them. Weird as I thought you only got older drops from pre dlc engrams.

New.... more like newly out of retirement maybe? lol I haven't touched Destiny before this week since leveling two 30s right as the VoG opened.

Was just curious because i kept hearing that there is so much to do after completing the super short (2-3hr) story portion of TTK.
 
loving Stormcaller so far.

my Titan finally got his first New Monarchy shader at lvl 24, on more rep up and i will be ready for the New Monarchy quest line.

my free exptic was Mida.... i was hoping for 4th horseman

The content is locked in at drop time so they will be older gear. Did you really think you could get away with not grinding?
 
The new story quests are by far the best battles and settings in the game. They definitely stepped it up a bit.

I still...hate. Nolan...North. As...Ghost!

Maybe I wasn't clear. I'm getting taken king blue weapons from pre taken king engrams. I expected to just use these engrams to level my cryptarch and receive old weapons. Instead I'm getting new ones.

It has never been locked in before decrypting. This was always apparent just by the fact that what you got scaled with the character that decrypted the item. You could save an engam from level 10 and get level 20 gear at launch by holding out on decrypting it.

Now, it would have made sense to have the old engrams and new engrams be fundamentally different in what they can roll, but they've always been decided at decryption.

This is why any online heavy game, I get in Xbox now, regardless of any exclusive dlc or resolution. The overall experience on PSN just doesnt feel superior to the PS3 days, even when I am paying for PSN.

On point, I hope I can get TTK tomorrow from Best Buy. Will be reading thoughts and opinions today. If the story is only 4 hours long, thats extremely disapointing and if getting to lvl40 is to rushed and doesn't actually matter, that really damages the game for me.

It's part of the VIP Veteran Tour questline, so unless someone qualified for the VIP stuff, they don't get it. So either level 30 or owned both "expansions" before August 31st and pre-ordered TTK.

Edit: Not 100% certain on the pre-order requirement, but definitely the first part and have to buy TTK either way.
 
Damn this is some good content. Only done the first story mission and the stormcaller quests and those missions were already better than every other Destiny story mission to date. Bungie has put in some work.

If it's preparing for download, it's not a server side thing. It's PS4 verifying the hash for what percentage of the 18gb patch you already have before downloading the remainder added today (which is like a 2 minute download).
 
How big is the Taken King Download? I already have the other two expansions and I'm already upgraded to 2.0. Did the 2.0/18GB download already include most of the new TTK content or is it another 20GB download on top of that when I purchase TTK?

2.0 was the big DL. There is another minor one, a few megs.
