What do I do with my old class armor materials(Sapphire Wire)?
Go to the Vanguard quarter master in the hanger and convert them to Armor Materials. They can now be shared among your Alt Characters.

You're focusing on just one comment. The OT has been positive through out, let's keep it that way.
he said so I did not nit-pick, I told him it is not on the disc. we had a lot of people who got angry because they did not know that in advance.
but sorry that I did want to help prevent him from buying something he maybe regret in the end -_-
the weekly heroic it isn't available this week. That's a fact. It won't be available at least half of the time. And Nightfalls will always be beyond vanilla players even if they are old strikesWhy on earth wouldn't they be when they're on Vanilla missions? That's how it's worked for vanilla owners when each DLC came out, for owners of the first DLC when the second came out, people who only owned the second DLC, etc.
That's a completely different point, and now we're just talking about acquisition rates. It's genuine misinformation to say something "isn't available" if it actually is, even if you don't think it's worthwhile to play the game with options locked out.
I'm enjoying the content greatly, and don't mean to bring down the party... but it's frustrating to ask questions (or see people ask questions) and get non-answers... been happening over and over in this thread.
Sorry I meant the mission Cayde's stash. Damn auto correct.Dreadnaught is part of Taken King. I'm not sure what the other thing is.
If I'm starting solo and having never played Destiny, should I go straight to level 25?
No, I would play through it once normally and then use the boost on your second character to skip the grindIf I'm starting solo and having never played Destiny, should I go straight to level 25?
Lol you can't tell me you took Econ and bring up "inherent value" when that's the first thing you'd have learned doesn't exist.Digital things do not have the same inherent value as physical. I don't need a lesson on supply and demand and markets, thanks. I took Econ too.
You can't resell digital, and it costs nothing to duplicate.
When is it OK to shard old gear? Other than nostalgia, is there any reason to keep old raid weapons and armor or other purple gear?

Awesome! See you there.Lé Blade Runner;178908320 said:I'm really liking the changes and the new presentation. The graphics do look a bit better, too. I'm mostly in for the PVP, though, so I don't mind if the new 'campaign' is short, or the strikes lacking. Anyway, I'm back in! Would be great to play with GAF-guys ( and girls ), so maybe I'll head to the community thread.

Alright hopefully a non broken link: These came in the mail today just in time for launch

Well it appears I may have gotten free access to The Taken King, lol. I have no idea what's going on but I haven't even bought the game yet and I have access to these missions. I've played through to the second mission on the Dreadnaught.
Oh, I see what you're saying, I think- the Vanguard Heroic Playlist is probably too high level? What level are Nightfalls at?the weekly heroic it isn't available this week. That's a fact. Daily Crucible (unless a TTK playslit) and Daily Heroic Story missions when they are vanilla missions should still be accessible and award legendary marks though.
Hm, right. I wonder what the maximum Light you can hit as a level 34 is.Vanguard heroic is 260 and Nightfall is 280
yeah, were using old terminology. I forgot they axed Weekly Heroic strikesOh, I see what you're saying, I think- the Vanguard Heroic Playlist is probably too high level? What level are Nightfalls at?

Here you go

It's public events.
Well, I'm miffed. I only own the base game right now, and I booted up Destiny a few minutes ago to find some unwelcome changes. So, firstly, all the original crucible game modes have been locked out, like control and relic, because they now require the Taken King to play. This would make sense to me if it was just the new game modes introduced with the latest update, but to lock all of the game modes behind the expansion seems shifty as hell. Of course, that's not to say I can't play the crucible at all, since there are three legacy playlists (6v6, 3v3 and free-for-all) but this still means that I cannot progress with Lord Shaxx's crucible questline because it requires me to play a game of control, which I can no longer access.
The vanguard playlists seem to have been affected similarly - the only one available to me right now is a level 20 legacy playlist, which is useless to me at level 34, and especially annoying because the higher level vanguard playlists from before no longer exist - or at least can no longer be accessed without the expansion. Legendary Marks are a problem for me as well, because from what I gather they can only be gained via non-legacy vanguard playlists or the daily heroic missions, which today is a Taken King mission, and will presumably be missions from the expansion for the near future. This means I can't buy vendor gear anymore because I can't get the currency, so I can't make any meaningful improvements to my character.
There doesn't seem to be much of a reason to play right now unless you've bought the expansion. I get that there needs to be an incentive for existing players to purchase it, but gating off modes and content that I used to be able to access is just making me less inclined to do so - what if the same thing happens in a year's time? At the moment it feels like you either need to cough up £80 for all the expansions, buy the legendary edition, or just stop playing.
Right so in lieu of a montly subscription typical for these sorts of games, Activision have designed something that will eventually make them money on the back end of things and this design that you're seeing is a direct result of that. Whereas before, you could easily engage in a weekly or daily, you are now locked out because you refused to opt in to the new annual subscription, which is exactly what this is (rather than monthly).
Guys, is the Veteran's Tour available to all three characters?
I caved and fired it up sans expansion.
Can't really do much huh? Tons of bounties but I can't level past 34. Crappy level 20 strikes. Crappy crucible.
Guess I'll use this time to play MGS.
Do you mean required level 26, or something? What kind of attack/defense values are you seeing?Heh seems like I'm not getting rare gear over level 26.
You cut me off not only from legendaries but also that? Well played bungie...
Do you mean required level 26, or something? What kind of attack/defense values are you seeing?
Control is really locked? That's straight up bizarre, especially if the other 3 original modes aren't...? It's like the most basic newbie mode, lol...
I haven't had the chance to login but maybe he's confusing the new control mode in TTK with the old control.
There are now two control variants, possibility the old variant is turned off for now.
It seems as though, that despite there not being a 'cap' on marks per week. It looks like there is a finite amount of activites you can do to earn said marks... So there is still a cap. :/
so bungie is essentially taking content out of the vanilla game? why am i not surprised.
Ah like 170, right? So that sounds about right. I think 34 and 170 Light are the pre-TTK maxes, and TTK rares being at that level is about what I've heard (the required level isn't really as much of an indicator of what it's good for as the Defense value). 34 obviously is 4 levels higher than the cap actually was at vanilla.I'm a Vanilla peasant mind you.
Yep required level 26 max, from any gear or emblems I get from Crucible or missions.
Defense values max out at around Year 1 legendaries funnily enough.
I'm level 34.
