Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

I have 150 marks. I'm at 291 light level.

What should I buy? All of the legendary stuff would lower my level. I already have the vanguard ghost she'll.

That leaves only an exotic weapon. I'm already rocking the Jade Rabbit. Also have three Telestros. Any other exotic that I can buy from my exotic collection?

You can always just raise the level of any legendary you get if you enjoy using it and it has great perks.

Nice I got the blighted worlds or whatever quest AFTER I completed the sub quests. Don't tell me I have to do that shit again. I did that Venus mission like 4 times because of disconnects

Wait, prison of elders only has matchmaking for the first section? Jesus H Christ Destiny, I understand the lack of MM for raids but come on.

For someone who just likes to play solo and occasionally do strikes with random, this is really annoying.

I continue to really really wish you could view Grimores from in game. There are a bunch you get from dead ghosts that have amazing story stuff on them and even relate very closely to the thing you are doing at the time you get them/to the quests you can be on when you get them. So much that is missed by not reading them in the moment.

For instance. If you have done the quest in Taken King where you go though the Cr
ota's End raid
alone for something, read the first Grimore card for "The Hellmouth". It is one you can collect while you are there and was newly added.

Another good one is for if you have done the after the main story quest where you go into the V
ault of Glass
alone looking for someone, read the "Mystery: Praedyth's Door" Grimore. Don't think anyone has actually found the dead ghost that goes with that, or the other few that seem like they are in that area though, but it's still good.

I'm no good player just barely averaging 1.0 K/D but fuck this shit. Bungie's new matchmaking is worst thing to happen in the crucible. All the fucking damn time I'm paired up with people can't shoot for their damn life because the other team wipes the floor every single damn time. And why? Because of the daily legendary marks which is one of the worst decision bungie ever made. Forcing PvE only /new/noob players to play crucible dragging other players down. I'm struggling to complete my faction win 10 crucible matches quest.

Take example....todays daily is rift and I'm having a loooooong time finding players for control and clash because everybody is doing rift for the marks, I joined rift and guess what? I'm paired up with a bunch of feeders and the opposing team slam dunks and slaughters everybody.

I never have this problem before TTK finding matches for control and clash easily but now 1/12 searching for guardians for 10 to 15 fucking mins.

Old system did that to me all the time. Not noticing any difference.

Blueberries suck.

The heroic playlist is the most terrible experience in Destiny ever. Wasted 40 minutes without finishing a single Strike. Leaving, AFK, all kinds of 1.0 shit. They think Heroics can be one manned or something?

Cross post since the other thread is all raid discussion

Anyone who knows their way around the Dreadnaught want to show me around? I keep getting lost and stumbling upon chests I have no idea how to reach.

I was also disappointed, then I looked into the strats for the boss in the last one. Stuff that needs to really have communication for. Still wish I could go back and do these things as I want to get the reps I missed up, but oh well for now.

Anyone know a good place to do the Cabal majors/ultras bounty? I thought I could knock it out in the Mausoleum but for some reason the kills aren't counting towards the bounty.

Nice to know it has some raid-like elements but what about the first two that prove cores? I just want to buy the items from the Fallen vendor. How annoying.

I'm sorry. I had multiple matches last night where I didn't kill anyone. I am so bad that I don't understand how someone can be good.

It used to be the first mission on Mars in heroic mode when they all fall out of the ship. You get 9 there, then suicide and run it again for the tenth. About 10 min.

The Heroics I've done have been pretty good so far, aside from one on Fallen Saber where none of us knew how to do the boss fight so we wiped several times. None of us quit though and it was a really awesome feeling when we finally got it.
But yeah I read that drop-in players are less common in Heroics so if someone leaves midway through the strike... yeah, I can understand your frustration.

Legitimate question:

What is mote of light used for since Xur no longer accepts them for exotics???

I got over 150 of them, just sitting there, collecting dust.

anyone as a hunter kill the asylum knights and get the door open? says to do it in one super, i whittled them down, went blade dancer and killed them quick but the door didnt open. seems impossible as a nightstalker, even bond of blood, the knights never get close

want that exotic sword!

Is a relative newcomer to Destiny able to compete in the Crucible? It says level advantages are disabled or something but am I still getting beat down with superior weapons and armor, etc?

Yes, I've seen people with gray/green level weapons come out on top. That said, a completely new character won't have their subclasses/supers unlocked so they are at a disadvantage there. And higher level weapons/exotics/armor have certain perks that can help by extending super time or keeping radar up while aiming, etc. The damage/armor is completely even but the perks still matter. But that stuff only goes so far. Basic multiplayer things still apply, so a good low level player with crap gear who knows the maps can still kick ass.

Posted in the community thread, but figured I'd post here as well. Looking for people to play with in general, up for pretty much anything. Started a new character two days ago after having not played since last year. I'm on PS4, PSN is AstroTesla and I have a mic. Will be on after 11PM EDT Sunday through Thursday and any time on all other days. Level 34 warlock, if that matters. Also willing to start new characters.

So I beat Oryx, is that it? I never got the sense he was any kind of threat.

I kept waiting for the second act. Like maybe I'm Taken. Or he shows up to the moon and an huge battle breaks out.

It was just missions to scout his ship and then fight him.

Am I missing something?

ah did it: quiver

My thoughts on the exploit and those coins..

Don't nerf them, all this exploit showed is I get an exotic every 15 coins

If I was doing this regular, one coin per boss, I would probably never gotten an exotic.

If anything, they should trigger it to only work on enemies that have X amount of health and up.
What exploit are we talking about here? Been gone for a few days and people are banking...

I'm pretty sure the last fight with him is the raid.

Otherwise, there are a few quests that open up after you beat him. I don't think any has anything to do with him though.

You're at a disadvantage, but not a stastical one. Do you have, for example, your full subclass perks unlocked?

I've been doing this "exploit" since Xur popped up.

- Purchase "Three of Coins" from Xur
- Run the Story mission "Scorge of Winter" where you are tasked with killing Draksis at the end.
- Consume a "Three of Coins" prior to fighting Draksis.
- When Draksis has a sliver of health left, hit him with a rocket at point blank range, killing you both.
- Draksis will potentially drop an Exotic Engram, and you will respawn at the start of the encounter.
- Rinse/Repeat.

I'm averaging 2 exotics per 10 Three of Coins. Basically paying 14 Strange Coins for 2 Exotic Engrams.

Keep going. You should have some quest indicators to try out strikes - as you do those, more single-player missions open up, and you'll also get quite a few more bounties and quests to explore the Dreadnaught and go back to areas of the other planets for weapon quests and others. It all builds to the raid, which in itself has some quests as I understand (haven't hit that part yet myself).

But yeah, the Regicide mission is really just the end of an Act 1 thing: consider that a late title card.

he's the last boss in the raid, hence the name of the raid "The King's Fall"

That's only act 1. There's so many quests that open up after that. There's the whole Taken War now, more quests across all the planets, quests from Petra for the Queen's faction, quests to do strikes and the strikes actually fit into context, the raid, etc. I'm still unlocking new quests and entirely new missions across all planets fighting shades of Oryx and stuff (just got one on Phobos) and I've been playing for hours and hours every day. The amount of content is crazy compared to vanilla and year one DLC.
