I'll be honest I'm a bit surprised it's scoring as high as it is since watching gameplay it seems to be so similar to 3 and NV and the new additions (voice acting, dialog wheel) are listed as "unobtrusive" at best. I'm sure I'll enjoy the game, just maybe not as much as I did the first time playing 3 even if 4 is the better game, and certainly not as much as NV.

dude.... the only defense for that image is if he just came back from fast traveling and the texture was still loading or it was on the very edge of the map and it was a wall that the player wasn't supposed to go past/get to anyway.

Yup, it's sad. I thought Unity last year would have been a break-out moment for the industry but I guess not. Jeff talking about it so candidly is nice to hear but he needs to tell that to Bethesda, not us.

I've never understood why Metacritic filter reviews like that, wouldn't it be better to combined everything and let people filter by platform if they want.

Yeah, loved his review. Turned me onto a lot of things I wasn't aware of in the game like diagonal walking.

The reviews are fantastic and I cannot wait to play. Question for you Bethesda fans out there - how long do you think it will take to get the first patch? I am thinking about playing Tomb Raider or Syndicate while we wait for the first patch. Do you think we are weeks away or months away?

First Bethesda game this generation so it's hard to tell.
Patches took much longer for consoles in general last gen. They have typically been a good bit quicker in coming out on these current consoles.
It is a little funny that the strongest review whining so far is along the lines of "why is it so high with all these bugs?"

No point to the original chart. If folks thought reviews were going to be bad, then they were crazy even if they had valid complaints.

Meh, there were a lot of people who simply stated the graphics weren't too pretty to begin with. Most admitted the game was going to sell well. Most admitted they were going to buy. Then you had the folks talking about witcher 3 and fallout 3. Somehow all of those folks got folded into the "circle jerk" (because there's no such thing as middle ground)and we're left with talks of salt, crow, and silly lists by people who are entirely too invested into the whole situation anyhow. It is what it is I guess, but it's all gotten rather old.

Right that was what was driving that original chart: valid complaints. They are valid complaints, but the shit show of bile and hatred was allowed to supercede them.

True that, but each extreme can both be just as obnoxious as the other. Sadly neither side realizes that.
Worst part is, most of the reviews confirm people's initial concerns, framerate and console graphics. They simply did not knock the game harshly over that, which is fine if that doesn't bother that particular person. It doesn't negate that those issues genuinely matter to others though.

I think that chart was dumb. I thought posting it was a terrible idea as well. Don't get me wrong by any means. I also think the opposing chart is just as silly though. In any case, I agree with everything you said.
I don't find the constant "salt" posts are any better. They're obviously there to get a rise from others. It may sound corny, but even though we all disagree on a lot of shit, we're a community, yet here we are trying to one up each other over silly shit like a difference of opinion and rub it in each other's faces.

Thanks and yep, the opposing chart is just as dumb, I wish we could just have a civil review thread where we all unite in equal harmony to discuss the lovely review scores and whether a game deserves them or not.
Instead we always get shit-shows that lead to arguing and dumb salty comments.
