I mean the gun. I read that you can have him unlock the Cryo locker. Is that not true?

If you give Dogmeat the command to 'unlock cryolator case' he'll just look at you and turn his head sideways. You have to tell him to fetch then pick 'items' and it'll say "Dogmeat found something" and he'll just grab the gun and drop it on the floor. You might have to lock yourself and Dogmeat in that closet where the gun is to make sure he doesn't wander off and fetch some other items.

My new favorite legendary item, VATS-enhanced combat armor arm. 10% savings on action points in VATS. Even without that perk, it has better stats than regular combat armor. Pretty sweet.

It's so tough when you level up and go into that menu and have 15 attractive options staring at me.

question: can you still do faction sidequests (those endless ones) after you finish the game, or choose a final faction?

All of the thumbnails for my save files are showing wrong and it makes it hard to know which file I want to reload. Known glitch or what?

Is there any way to cancel a trade route other than to wait for the settler to arrive at either end of the destination? Accidentally sent a settler from Hangman's Alley to the outpost all the way to the north! Can't find the route he's taking and he never seems to show up at either the alley or the outpost.

Same thing for me. I honestly can't stand the save system on PS4, I barely manually save anymore and that's a big deal for me since I like to have two saves going at once. Just incase anything goes wrong.

Wow, Legendary Deathclaw at the hospital in Cambridge fucked me up. Glad I quicksaved just before.

At level 22ish(?) I basically had to just spam Jet nonstop and I had the time to dump all of my combat shotgun ammo into him. Managed to take him down without *toooo* much trouble.

Does anyone have information on just how much weight is too much weight for sneaking?

I rank up sneaking every chance I get and will get it to max, but I'm curious how much armor is too much.

i.e. I'll be getting the sturdy and heavy variation of leather armor later on with ultra-light weight mods for each of them. But I'm curious if the game expects you to never get the other version of armor if you expect to be able to stealth.

In order to hunt for my perfect gun I've taken to patrolling the glowing sea every few days.

I hunt legendary albino scorpions for kicks. It's kind of relaxing.

It's not fun, it doesn't test any skills. it's just mindless busywork

I think it's kind of the opposite, it requires a lot of thought and that's why I like it. Trying to figure out which word to select first, then which to choose next to eliminate the most potential candidates... It's more of a cerebral test than I expected from the game.

goddamn, a bunch of raiders tricked me into following them into a house thinking there was a dying person I needed to help inside.

They then proceeded to destroy me

Crawl Out Through The Fallout, Baby.

I like Travis, but I can't listen to those songs anymore. If I hear Civilization one more time I might snap.

Ha, I know the event. I fell for it as well, although I was successful. Turns out they weren't prepared for a Serrated Chinese Sword.

I'm sure it has been posted before, but it doesn't hurt for a reminder.

Always remove the fusion core from the power armor when you leave it, npc's will steal your power armor. Also you can steal power armor from raiders if you pickpocket the core from their armor, they will exit it.

If you "give" your power armor to an npc to use, place a weak fusion core in it. The npc wont wear it out.

Knew something was up you can go around a side entrance and listen in on them wondering where you are.

is there a good list of all the quests yet? Want to see if I missed any notable sidequest. Would be pissed if I finishd the game and had missed stuff like USS Constitution or Cabot House

Come on, you shoulda seen that one coming ;)

I had dogmeat follow them and a molotov cocktail waiting when they realized I wasn't coming in. \o/

about Silver Shroud quest - "listen to Silver Shroud radio east of Diamond City to get the quest."

east where, exactly?
I think it popped up for me to the northeast while doing the BOS
"The Lost Patrol"
quest. Didn't realize I even found the signal until I saw "Silver Shroud signal lost" when I warped back to base

Whoops, looking at the map it's straight east, or even a bit south

Anybody come across the NPC (I can't remember his name) who says
he's trying to get all the vendors in the Commonwealth to get rid of caps as currency and use a 'charge card' instead
.
Honestly I thought that it was a pretty good idea for a split second then he asked me for caps to get a card and I promptly shot him in the head haha.
I love how Bethesda puts npcs like that for people to run into randomly.

Hit level 40. Finally complete the Devil's Due side quest. I dunno how you are supposed to complete 50 misc. objectives for the trophy. I have only completed 25 0.0.

Hope non-mainline faction quests count.

Had a great series of events just now:
- Met Magnolia in The Third Rail in Goodneighbor
-
Took her on a 'date'
- Upon immediately exiting the room, I meet
the Vault-Tec guy from the beginning, now a ghoul
- Convince this person to go to Sanctuary
- Piper likes this so much that she idolizes me, Romance option pops up
- Profit

put a second story floor on top of some walls?

Yea think I didn't try? I made a floro with walls than stairs. There is a HUGE gap between the floor on second floor and the walls on first. I used wood/metal and same issue. I tried deleting the floor.

That gap persists.

Do the NPCs / quests get better? I'm contemplating going full genocide pretty soon, they're all so boring.

The new dialogue system doesn't help, either. Every conversation starts like NPCs with no actual text dumps in the old game, but transition into a "conversation" after you mean mug them for five seconds afterwards? So awkward.

Some quests get better but the Writting and Coversations still are mediocre.

Got a couple of questions, if anyone can assist?

1.) Do Preston Garveys "Raider/Ghoul Trouble at X" and "Clear Out Settlement X" missions ever end? Every time I finish one he gives me a new one to do. Which is fine, but I'm keen to know if there's an end game with his missions or if they're on an infinite regen loop?

2.) I thought there was a perk to allow resources to be shared between all your settlements, so you still had access to all your stored equipment and resources regardless of which settlement you're at. Is this a thing, and if so how do you access it? I've checked the perk chart but I can't see anything that relates to that. I'm already Local Leader 2.

My install is taking a loooong time, it's been a half hour to download about 8% :/ Should I quit out and install again? I'm hearing it has to do with the internet speed.

The stairs screw it up for some reason. Try putting down the first floor, then walls, then the second floor. Don't put in the stair piece in until you have upper floor pieces for it to snap on to.

That sounds like it should work! Can you make a high ceiling? Like second floor actually starts on third?

No they do not although they do open up new places if you havent been to them. All the factions have endleslly repeating quests, you will learn to identify them soon enough
