Movie looks beyond overstuffed.

Isn't Doomsday the kind of character/threat that ought to have an entire film dedicated to him? Serious question.

Is tacking him on at the end of the Bat/Supes conflict not a waste?

Doomsday is a nothing character. Tying him into Zod here is probably an improvement.

That trailer deflated the hype gained from the previous trailer. They really shouldn't have veered away from the whole ... you know, Batman vs Superman thing, the thing people want to see and is the title of the fricken movie.

I knew that at some point they were going to join forces, but why show it in the trailers?

This sums up my thoughts pretty well.

Plus, more insanely ridiculous collateral damage. WW feels tacked on. Mehhhhh!

I really want to like this though

Kinda funny how the same people who pointed at the RT audience score as evidence for MoS being at least good like to pile on the hate for the Thor franchise when Dark World, arguably the most mediocre MCU entry, has both better critic AND audience scores.

To be clear, I thought dark world was incredibly uninspired. I just find this contradiction amusing.

I think you're confused here. The point of that was to show that MoS wasn't universally hated like a lot on GAF seem to push.

Doomsday probably made more sense then having Bizarro in this movie
Plus, there are better villains out there. Doomsday is... Kind of a lazily written villain in the comics. There really isn't much to him. The comics didn't focus too much on him and focused more on the deat of Supes and aftermath. Why blow your load early during the set up film?

plus he was created to delay the wedding of Lois and Clark

they aren't even romancing yet

Best to use Doomsday here, he works best for a set-up film as a villain that would require three heroes to take down? And then the next movie with Superman is Justice League and likely Darkseid

I liked Man of Steel, and this movie looks good too. I'm hoping this trailer really didn't give away everything, at least we didn't see Aquaman yet. I can see the good stuff in this trailer, but its a shame it was so awfully cut, and spoiled the existence of Doomsday.

I gave Man of Steel a 6.5/10, Winter Soldier an 8.5, but I still think both upcoming sequels have the potential to be 9/10s. Fingers crossed that this was just a weird trailer

I dunno. I loved MoS, even though it's a bit exhausting to watch. But Thor 1 was fucking terrible, it actually makes me cringe. Why is everything a dutch angle (I think that's what they are called?) just keep the fucking camera level.

Sarcasm?

He seems horribly miscast. He's a good actor, but he doesn't have the range to play a convincing villain.

If they're just going loon mad scientist, he'll be fine. He's clearly not the Clancy Brown Lex Luthor, but if he serves the purpose intended for this film, I have no qualms. Plus there's all that talk that he's Alexander Luthor and not classic Lex, which is justification enough.

As it stands, beyond the cutting of that trailer, my only real qualm is the Doomsday design. It's bad for no good reason.

Try the first post. there's a video which summarized the movie plot.
That's equal to judging a book by its cover/blurb. You can't seriously say that you can gauge the entire film based on the trailer alone. I refuse to believe it.

I woulda responded sooner but Ibwas watching the Packers game live. Wow.

Plus it's obvious this isn't a Snyder cut.

Thats not true. A book blurb usually dont spell out what the final part of the story is, in such detail.

The blurb for this movie will have inform you that there's a threat brewing in the background while they are fighting, without telling you what the threat is and how it comes about.

I see the thread has gone full-on bingo card with complaints of destruction and talk of the MARVEL-way. May as well just merge it with the community thread, barely a difference in posts at this point.

wishes it were bannable to say mean things about Marvel
Well I finally saw this, and honestly I have hugely mixed reactions to it.

Pros:

- Batman looks good, I even like Ben's Batvoice
- loved the banter between Bruce and Clark

Cons:

- Lex is a goofball, that is so not the kind of Lex I wanted to see :(
- Doomsday? DOOMSDAY??? WHHHYYYYYY?????????
- Superman is constantly scowling even more than Batman is, seems wrong
- Wonder Woman just shows up out of the blue? Feels so very forced

Yeah, I've watched it several times now, and I really don't like this trailer. Did Zack direct this one, because it doesn't feel like a Zack Snyder trailer at all...

Eh... but everything you've posted in this thread speaks as if you've seen the film. That you absolutely know it sucks based on a trailer for a movie nobody has seen is just silly.

Looks like 4 years isn't enough and they need more time to make it then.

C'mon man. You look like a fool saying that.

Well like I said. Check out the first post if you want to know what will go down in this movie.

The formula is that you need to tease Darkseid in the stingers and then bring him out in ten years or so.

I don't think Bruce Wayne's popularity and celebrity status is confined to geographical proximity.

Seeing as how LexCorp, Wayne Enterprises and StarLab pretty much make all the tech in the DC universe, you gotta be living under one hell of a rock to not know who Bruce Wayne is.

I can excuse him for not immediately recalling Bruce Wayne's face though.

And saying that, you can absolutely say they needed more time for the movie? You think the movie will be terrible? You and people like you need to see the film with everyone else begore you can say that. But I do understand thinking the trailer sucks.

Movie goers be like...
1. Going to see movie anyways.
2. Complain how bad the movie sucks
3. Repeat

Doesn't matter if movie is good. Hollywood knows people will watch this because it has Batman and Superman.

From the interviews it seems Bruce has become a recluse since he retired as Batman and that one day a year he visits his metropolis holdings Supes and Zod throw down.

I'm guessing he didn't. Other than being completely different from his usual work, he hasn't pushed this one on twitter. He was upfront with the teaser and the first trailer.

The title also has a subtitle called "dawn of justice" So... them joining forces is ALSO in the title...

Are people here surprised that Doomsday is in the movie or are you just upset that they showed him? Because I kinda just had it as a given that there would be a bigger threat, the only think I didn't like was his design, looks generic as fuck

There's complaints of both, which have been addressed by some posters in the thread.

Like you said, it's a given there's a big bad threat, but I guess some people forgot theatrical trailers in the past 15-20 years often show a lot of the movie.

As for the second issue, people need to realize Doomsday is a throwaway character. As in the comics, it seems he's just a physical threat for the eventual team up and nothing else special and to be forgotten afterwards. I'm glad he's being used here so they can get him out the way.

Seems like a mixture of both, but mostly the latter. I get it, I want the Bruce/Batman and Clark/Superman rivalry to dominate the movie without too much interference, but i'm not gonna overreact and jump to conclusions when the marketing might be purposely misleading fanboys. After all, this has probably been the most top secret production i've ever seen. And there's still some key unanswered questions like what exactly is Wonder Woman doing there? What's the deal with Robin? Who is Jena Malone playing?

Can we discuss the fact that Snyder hasn't tweeted this out nor said anything about it ?

It kinda feels like he isn't very happy about this and WB is handling this 100 % from now on for whatever reason.
