I was kind of worried about everything but Deadpool himself, but the movie delivered big time.I still have a hard time visualizing this movie being a decent film. Hopefully I can check it out today to remedy.

It's like, what, 30-40M above estimates?
I hope Ryan Renolds didn't have plans for the rest of his career. And I hope Blur Studios is looking for a new director.
Wow, that's great!Deadline has it making 151M for the 4 day. WTF?!
I'm fucking dying at a Deadpool movie getting a 150 million dollar opening
Like, what the fuck
They basically doubled estimates

It isn't decent and wasn't funny either.

And that's the magic trick. Look at the most successful comic films and this is usually a key factor.More like "adapt the characters honestly and the things that make them appealing will shine through."
If only.WB fast tracking that Plastic Man film...
Was it 70M for the weekend or 4 day? Either way it's mind blowing.
Probably 70 for the weekend, 90 for the 4 day
Probably 70 for the weekend, 90 for the 4 day
Damn! Absurd!
I think tracking was 65-70 for the entire 4-day. Boxoffice.com pegged the 4-day at $93M but they were at the high end. Mojo guessed $73M
My god.....Deadline has it making 151M for the 4 day. WTF?!
Pretty damn likely.So... what are the chances that this becomes Fox' best performing comic book movie?
To be fair, Deadpool isn't as obscure as the Guardians were. But then you could factor in the R rating of his film as a reason for analysts being skeptical. I'm glad that Deadpool's movie ended up being awesome enough to bring people into the theaters in droves.I still can't believe we live in an era where Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool movies exist, let alone be successful.
Lol, fucking hell
Saves his bullets, gets all the money
Pretty damn likely.

I hope that's the lesson learned from this and Marvel's success, but we know it won't be.

Anyway, apparently Fox's biggest opening weekend before Deadpool for a Marvel property was X-Men: The Last Stand with $102 million (not sure if this is adjusted for inflation).
Mah gawd. 151M?
~6th best opening for a comic movie?
Incredible success.
Watched this last night on a whim even though the trailers had me worried. Fun film, but what surprised me is that we went to our local shitty cinema (the nicer ones weren't showing Deadpool) and it was almost sold out apart from the nosebleed seats. I can't remember the last time I saw the cinema like this, not even The Winter Soldier or Spectre's opening weekend was this busy. This is in London, so I'm really interested in what Deadpool's international numbers are like.
Official 3-day estimate is $135M
I'm pretty sure Reynolds is dancing in the street right now. Either him or Miller leaked that damn footage and it paid off for them in the best way.
Miller was gone the second he got a shot at a big movie.
