I'm ready to pull the trigger.

New the big question is, considering it's gonna be in a case, should I get it in gold so I can get the 64gb version for $500?

How does black look in person? Amazon has same day delivery on it.
I would personally get the gold 64GB. You want to make sure you have sufficient storage space. I have aluminum so I can't comment on how graphite looks in person.

I'm really tempted to get this phone today, but I'm not sure the finger print scanner is worth the extra $150 over getting a regular nexus 6 or Moto pure.

Thoughts?

The phone's CPU is much better than the one in the Moto X Pure. Its display is AMOLED, it has bigger battery, and will get updates faster and for longer.

I'm ready to order now. Big question though, go with a color I dislike to get an extra 32gb, or get the color I like and also get same day delivery.

I hate making these types of decisions : /

Anyone here having WIFI/Bluetooth issues?

I've looked around online but nothing suggested helped.

My phone drops or doesn't use the WIFI connection rather frequently. I have to go back and disconnect/reconnect to get it running smoothly again quite often.

My phone also restarted by itself the other day and when it rebooted it had forgotten all my bluetooth devices. Not a big deal, everything was easy to reconnect (besides the Microsoft Band which took a few more steps). I'm just hoping it was a weird one time glitch and not a sign of something more serious.

These issues aren't enough to sour me on the phone, just something I'm wondering Google is aware of/will possibly be fixed in future updates.

I mean, beyond the finger print scanner and camera, how much better are the specs really? It's like a $200 difference after tax. And that's only for the 32gb : (

I have a N5 N6 N5x and 2 N6p...get the 6p..the gold is pretty

Ok, order is locked in.

Someone please recommend a case that doesn't make the phone to thick.

THANKS!

Using a Spigen Thin case but thinking about getting Dbrandz skin to put on it

Speaking of picking colors, I originally bought a black 6p from google but the $50 off for gold at best buy when stacked with 10% CB using a Discover IT card (+$25 gc) was too go to pass up. Ended up returning my black one to google and am now using the gold 6p.

I got that case, and decided to spend the extra $50 to get the 64GB in the color I want.

SOOOOOOO EXCITED! I haven't got a best in class phone since the iPhone 4!!!

Was marshmallow enough of an improvement for you?

I think I may have passed the new-device-itch stage and I'm curious what the next nexus phone will look like.

The worst. Especially when you thought this type of thing was going to be fun.

Got mine delivered today! Now I just gotta hook it up to the Verizon network and I'll be rolling

I'm having terrible battery problems this last few days. I went from awesome battery life.. Like nearly a day and a half to more reporting 8 or so hours on a full charge.

I took off Facebook, disabled location but it persists. Is there an issue with Bluetooth as I use that with wireless headphones a lot.

I'm currently on 45% and its reporting 3 hours left. I'm a medium load user.

Frost stays winning. It's easily the most exclusive color with all the sales on the gold lately.

I just got mine. I can't even understand how nice it is. The screen is gorgeous and the finger print scanner is great. I'm really impressed by the speakers too.

Still massively in love with this phone but I've discovered my first gripe. I really do not like the button placement, specifically the volume rocker being in the middle of the phone. I was trying to use my MOGA controller with 6P and the arm kept mashing the buttons no matter how I set it. I had to set the phone off center to avoid it,but it looks weird that way.

Is there any way to shut off the hardware buttons with certain apps?

So, is there anything cool that can be done with the fingerprint scanner? Stuff like "whenever I scan my right pinkie, start playing music" or "let me swipe the scanner to scroll whatever app I'm using"?

Mine has gotten hitchy. Anything I can do? Sometimes out of sleep it's very slow, and I get a lot of keyboard hitches where I'll be typing and it will freeze on a letter and mess up my sentences.

Any ideas?>

Yassss. I hate cases and I'm glad my 6P looks good as new. I also have Nexus Protect and I love the peace of mind.

The metal side edges of my frost N6 are scuffed up p good and I've never damaged the phone. It's just the reality of the material, I think.

Finally got to unbox this thing. It sure is a beast. Really impressed with the fingerprint sensor so far

Best fingerprint sensor I've ever used. It's failed to read my finger exactly once since I got it at launch, and it works form any orientation - instantly. It's a lot better than the 'swipe down the home button in just the right way and the right speed' way that my Samsung tablet works.

This is my biggest gripe with the 6p so far. The buttons are placed where I naturally pick the phone up so it took me awhile to adjust. Even more annoying is how sensitive the volume/power buttons are. I still occasionally power off my phone accidentally when I'm holding a bunch of things or when I put it in the cup holder in my car.

Does anyone know the settings I need to modify in order to enable tethering & portable hotspot on ATT? I have a Nexus 5X but I figure the same would apply to a 6P.

There's a pretty amazing deal on the 5X at Elgiganten here in Sweden right now (link for any Swedes in here), which makes the 32GB model literally half the price of the 32GB 6P. Is the 6P enough of a step up for me not to jump on the 5X deal? 5.2" is easily enough for me, and I don't particularly think I need higher than 1080p resolution either (at least at that size). I'm coming from the N5, FYI.

The 5X is rubbish if you plan to use it for more than a year.

Hmm, because...? The plan would probably be to use it until the 2017 Nexus is released. My N5 has been great for over two years now, still performs like a champ. The only real problem I have with it is that the battery has gone to shit, but that's to be expected (especially as it wasn't that great to begin with).

Runs like rubbish and I own one. It's tolerable, sort of. But a year later with 2GB ram, no.

Does it run worse than the two-year-old N5? Because mine still runs great, and there doesn't seem to be any logical reason for the 5X to run worse. I'm also not really one to fill my phone up with RAM-hungry background apps, I keep it down to what I actually need and use, so 2GB is generally just fine (not that it never becomes noticeable). I also have an OCD-ish habit of doing a clean install of every major new Android version, so any old junk gets cleaned out every now and then. My N5 has never gone a year without being completely wiped.

If your N5 is fine, don't upgrade for performance reasons. Upgrade for battery, camera, fingerprint. It runs the same performance wise.

The battery in my N5 is half-dead, the screen is semi-cracked, fingerprint sensor would be nice to have, as would a better camera, twice the storage, etc. I'm still perfectly happy with it performance-wise in most situations, but it simply won't last me much longer, and this 5X offer is very tempting. Like I said, it's half the price of the 6P (which is ridiculously expensive here in Europe).

Get the 6P. I bought the Nexus 6 in Europe and it was even more money than the 6P currently is. The 6P will last a couple of years for sure. I was always iffy about the 6, though, but eh.

By the way, I just bought a second 5X. Wife lost the first one yesterday and it's ok enough to rebuy. Oh well.

My Nexus 6p has shipped (ordered it last night, Alum - 32GB), my Nexus 5's battery was basically dead and we're heading to Japan next month so I need a reliable phone that won't die so quickly and figured I might as well upgrade to the 6p. (was hard deciding between 5X and 6P).

How is the camera compared to the Nexus 5 anyway? I'll be using it a lot for pics as well during the holiday so just wondering how it compares to my old phone.

The Nexus 5 wasn't bad, I also went from that to the 6P. The only areas the 5 still has an edge is the OIS - the DIS in the 6P leads to some weird judder depending on the moving subject (to be specific I took a video of a passing train, the digital stabilisation couldn't decide wether to track the platform or the train and this lead to a juddery image - this is a specific case though and other than that it hasn't been an issue for me). The focal distance is not as near as the 5, which took fantastic macro shots. Other than that the 6P camera is leaps ahead, low light is great, focus is quick and the overall speed of the 6P means you will be able to capture a shot more quickly, just what you need for a trip.

Hmm, yeah, I've been reading a bit more about people's experience with the 5X, and it does indeed sound like it's somehow just a laggy phone in general. Many say the N5 performs noticeably better, which of course does not sound good at all. I definitely do not want to "upgrade" to a phone that's less smooth than the two-year-old one I have now, that's just unacceptable. So I guess I'll just have to keep dealing with my rapidly draining N5 battery (that's really all that's truly wrong with it, except for a crack in the screen that just goes across part of the status bar) until the 6P drops to a reasonable pricepoint (I'm not paying €610 for that phone - and that's just for the 32GB model).

Lol, why though? You seem to really not like it?

Buy a new battery. It's like $10 and some charge for a replacement

6P is the best bang for your buck. If you can't afford that kind of phone and have to keep waiting for price drops then you might as well buy a 6 now

Hmm. How difficult is it to actually replace it? This stuff makes you miss the old good days of removable back covers, even though that generally meant less solid phone builds.

Nvm just get a new phone

Haha. Really, it doesn't bother me much anymore, and the display is 100% functional.

I can afford it, I just think we're being robbed here in Europe with those prices. It will go down in price eventually.

So I've had my 6P for about 3 weeks now and I must say it's probably the best phone experience I've ever had. Having earlier access to system updates and little to no bloatware is pretty great as an AT&T sub. This was a huge breath of fresh air coming from an Galaxy S5.

This phone also has the best implementation of a finger scanner I've ever used. It makes locking and unlocking such a hassle-free experience. The worst thing about locking cell phones is having to either A: input a code to unlock your phone on the regular or B: having your phone unlock in your pocket and hit random apps/butt dial people. Both are a real pain in the ass when you're working out.

Overall, I'm really diggin this phone. Battery life is stellar, camera takes awesome pics, and it's aesthetically pleasing. 5/5

How soon can we expect a successor to the 6P? I originally planned to purchase a phone back when it launched but it would have been too expensive to purchase this phone and pay all the fees for terminating my Verizon service. My plan will be up in August so I wanted to know if anyone knew if there'd be a new Nexus out by then.

The next successor will probably be available in November. I'm stuck with Tmobile until early next year, but I really want the 6P and Google Fi. I'm going to try to stick it out until the fall so my equipment fee (gs6) won't be so damaging.

Picked up a 128GB 6P

Should be here by Wednesday.

For whatever stupid reason, I didn't realize that the 128GB option was only available with certain colors. Ended up going with the white and a silly looking case.

Were you planning on getting the gold? That's the only one not available in 128GB.

I can't stand the OS of this phone. Everything is wrong and messed up. First of all, when I have missed phone calls or messages, it doesn't have the number show up on the app like it did on my S3. Second, I had to download an app to get a basic ass feature like notification lights (seriously wtf?) and I can't get it to work with Outlook (which completely shit the bed recently, btw). Third, I can't reorder my apps. It's forced into alphabetical order which is the dumbest thing ever. Even if I get used to it, downloading an app that starts with A will mess everything up. Finally, having the back button on the left side makes no sense, especially when the phone is so damn huge. I looked this one up and I would have to root my phone and maintain it through updates. Screw that. I can't wait for Samsung to come to their senses and make a non-shitty phone that doesn't have a lazy OS.

Yeah, the keyboard spacing and the placement of the back button threw me off a while. I still didn't get a new app for notification lights. The first one I tried didn't seem to work. Seems like a standard feature to have. I miss having a menu button as well. A dedicated one at least. There doesn't seem to be an option to restart that I have noticed. Liked being able to restart after holding the power button.
