Alright Boss Doggie, how many reviewer aliases do you have
Zootopia > Inside out.
Really, its good.
That's a bold statement. Must be really really good
But...That's a bold statement. Must be really really good
INSIDE OUT is a better movie story wise, but ZOOTOPIA is more entertaining on a superficial level because of its colorful world, jokes about animals, and pop culture references. That's a bold statement. Must be really really good
Saw it earlier today. It definitely deserves it. The movie is great for children and adults, has nice humor, and great characters.
I'll say it's even better than big hero 6.
The Good Dinosaur was the first major animated film we skipped in theaters in as long as I can remember. Kid just wasn't interested in at all. Conversely, she will drag us to the theater tomorrow if she has to. She's dying to see this.
This was my takeaway. I love the character designs and interactions but I wasn't really moved by it as a whole. Not compared to Inside Out. Zootopia was entertaining and I don't really have any criticism myself but it's not the blowout some people are making it out to be, largely in part because a lot of it are things I've already seen before. It's just a megamix of old stereotypes and good ideas. Inside Out had a fairly original premise that tried to visually interpret a lot of really complicated ideas in interesting ways and an amazing ensemble of voice talent. It can be argued that a lot of it was manipulative but Inside Out really got me thinking about a lot of things about myself and my past. Zootopia is a fun experiance with likable characters and there is nothing wrong with that but I think the comparison is pretty unfair because they are both trying to accomplish completely separate things here to varying degrees of success. Although I preferred Inside Out I'm really glad with what Disney is coming out with and I can't wait to see what's next.INSIDE OUT is a better movie story wise, but ZOOTOPIA is more entertaining on a superficial level because of its colorful world, jokes about animals, and pop culture references.
I agree with it, Frozen was a far better movie but still miles behind Ratatouille.
Frozen is way more entertaining then ratatoullie. Kids movies should be entertaining
Where does this one fall on the list? Never saw itStarted from the bottom...

The comic high point is a scene at the DMV where sloths work behind the counter and talk. Very. Very. Very. Slowly. If the movie is overlong because of that one hilarious scene, it was worth it.
Its fun (love doges) but highly forgettable.Where does this one fall on the list? Never saw it

Ratatouille is the best movie Pixar has ever made. Kids love it too.

nope. It was loved by adults or teen. just like most of the pixar movie it had mature audience in mind. It does not mean it was not a good movie. It was great movie. Just not entertaining for kids. Kids 1-8 year old. Their movies are really for 10 and above imo.
you know what movie kids go nuts for. Cars. Frozen.Finding nemo. Movie that have way much kid oriented martial.
Nothing else to really compare to recently besides Frozen. Beyond that, that just leaves Tangled and Wreck it Ralph. That's a low bar
I pretty much only watch animated movies in theaters. All my friends are "too cool" for animated films. Sad that my Mom is the only one who actively wants to go to these films. My friends are in their low to mid 20's and still don't have the self confidence to watch what they want due to stigma.
My Mom is cooler than my friends... Ergo I need to find cooler friends.
Ouch. I have fond memories of Cats Don't Dance. Are they really that closely paralleled? I don't know much about Zootopia aside from animals just coexisting under the confines of being characterized into "humanesque" form with animal traits in a humanized society.
I don't think RT ever catalogs every critic for a movie. If you added up all the professional reviews of Casablanca it would probably be 1/500 or 1/1000 were negative. For old movies Metacritic and RT get a selection of prominent critics but it's never representative of what the critical response was or is.isn't 99% a bit much? i mean, come on... that's more than casablanca
They're beating out Pixar which is really wacky thinking about it.
Inside Out was a great return to form, tho.
That's a low bar
Inside Out actually bored me, it was...weird.
Like... I just don't think the concept had enough depth to float a 90 minute movie.
It didn't feel like there were really any stakes and the "big finish" of Rileywas a complete anti-climax.not getting on the bus
If it wasn't for the Cars movies it'd probably be my least favorite Pixar work.

I didn't like Inside Out much either. I didn't think it offered anything fresh or novel and all the press talk about how Pixar had invented a new language for parents to talk with their children seemed really condescending.Inside Out actually bored me, it was...weird.

Worse than Wreck it ralph and on par with the robinsons.
Everything else is bad in my book.
what is this noise
That's a great movie.
Man I feel the exact opposite. Inside Out dropped the ball on its storytelling in several areas (particularly its lackluster third act) but i looked past that because the visuals and concepts were creative. If i had to pick which of the two is more entertaining on a superficial level its Inside Out all the way.INSIDE OUT is a better movie story wise, but ZOOTOPIA is more entertaining on a superficial level because of its colorful world, jokes about animals, and pop culture references.

I'm gonna have to see this, its on pace to be the best rated movie of all time at Rotten Tomatoes right?
Am I alone in thinking the first ten minutes of Up is the best film making of the last fifty years?
