Lol yeah this game was explosive (booo)
Btw I'm probably dumb for asking but I can't understand who I still have to play vs or if I'm done.
Six grenade launchers in that second match, haha.
Six grenade launchers in that second match, haha.
You could have gone bit easy on my poor soul on those matches.Holy hell what a massacres those games were. Where's the 'I've Made a Huge Mistake.gif' when you need it.
Edit: Started second matches with TheDanimal and archnemesis too.
Another new feature that will particularly change the multiplayer is what theyre calling advanced tactics, a new set of orders that can be programmed into troops to tell them how to react to changing events as they occur: if X happens, switch to plan Y. Thats a big change, but smaller ones are in the works as well. Were just trying to deal with a few of the problems people have with the first game, says Hardingham. We had a problem with people abandoning games, were gonna be working really hard to fix that. There was a specific ploy in multiplayer called the distraction ploy¹ that Im not a particular fan of, were getting rid of that.
That just seems more complicated than it should be. The if/else should just be "if under fire->get to cover as fast as possible... else->move freely" or something.
Well, the problem (IMO) is the combat rules aren't intuitive. Crouching has no purpose for most people unless going into cover to have better concealment and the like. Aiming in the original was hard to "see" where the unit would engage.
The aiming is one of the things that Double 11 fixed in the console port IMO. But the rules of engagement was still hard to understand. It's why I'm hoping for the sequel they'll actually make the combat more understanding instead of these (IMO pointless) over complications in the planning. That's not going to retain players or bring new players in. People have to understand why they lost instead of "oh well I guess I didn't aim correctly????" on plans.

Unfortunate suicide by Instro's rocketeer at the end. BTW I figured that you'd kill my top most rocketeer right away, so I didn't even think of moving him.
Still 2 games in progress. I'm in the process of getting wrecked by Jazzerman. Game vs titch can go either way.

Oh, god. Probably gonna be a quick one, huh.Well, sent off my two game invites already. One of them has us both starting with three rocket launchers and a machinegunner... should be interesting.
Oh, god. Probably gonna be a quick one, huh.
True.Either that, or it's just going to become an empty void after a couple turns, the machinegunners will be dead, and we'll just be left flinging useless rockets at each other.
Man I don't know how to feel about all the changes for the sequel...seven or eight new units (!!!), unit stats, that advanced programming thing...I loved the first game for its chess-like predictability and simplicity. It was already a niche affair and I feel all this stuff is going to make the barrier of entry and overall skill ceiling so high that there will be even less players around after a couple months. It will just be the handful of hardcore obsessed guys playing amongst themselves.
