Aye, good luck! How long do you have? I should be able to play every evening unless something comes up, but not particularly late. Taken first and second turns for those games now btw.
 
I recorded my whole match with Cosmic Schwung and talked through (almost) the whole thing. If listening to me ramble on at length, talk through my thoughts and make a few good plays along with a HUGE mistake
along with appropriate live reaction (at the 1:09.20 mark)
sounds like fun, have a look.

I think the real value here is seeing what I do in between turns, playing around with different scenarios etc. It is quite lengthy, but the match ended up being very interesting.

Yes, really poor starting positions for Accent unfortunately for them! The second game was extremely close.

I had the upper hand the first couple of rounds, but I needed vision badly. My first guy died due to a stupid move to get vision. It went downhill from there.

Yeah, vision is pretty much what saved me, knew where you were most of the time.
I decided to keep my grounds and take out your cornered shotty with my machinegunner, so I could move more freely without getting killed from behind.
Also, incredibly stupid of me to not move the shotty you killed first, didn't die in my simulation but better safe than sorry.

(I mean, we're supposed to play a thrid game in case of a draw right?)

The final match was a bloodbath, soldiers got killed left to right and I got so scared I had to hide and shake in fear the final two rounds to win.
Brilliant games OmegaDragon, this could have ended in any way.

Yeah, you play a match on that Calliope map as a tiebreaker. Having played it myself this round, it really makes me hope for lots of symmetrical setups in FS2. It was rather novel to actually be in the same position as my opponent, and that map has the added bonus of the grenades not being able to reach the other team on the first turn, so you've got at least one turn where you can move around in relative peace.

Yeah, I find it strange you can't generate symmetrical maps in FS1 since it actually do that sometimes.
Since Jazzerman and Najaf already started and we're against each other, I'm sending you a challenge, if you don't mind.

And Steam apparently decided to flag every completed game that I've done in FS since turning on turn notifications as active, so I log in to "42 new turns waiting". Is there any way to just bulk clear all of these?

You can generate symmetrical layouts in FS1. Its in create game, advanced setup, generate symmetrical.

So, what should be the call if a player wins an Extermination match via getting a unit to the opposing player's corner, but the other player didn't even know that was an option for victory? Rematch or no?
 
Okay, Vlad just captured my red square and I had absolutely no idea that was even part of the game.
I guess it's really my fault, but would I be out of my way to request a rematch?

Yeah, since I had the upper hand and could easily capture your base too, this miss on my side hurts even more :/

I am leaning towards no tbh. People not knowing or forgetting about rules... is not really a good reason after several weeks of training time :/

Fail on my side for not mentioning it in the rules as well though, but still. Win for Vlad I'd say.

Yeah, only got myself to blame, always thought it was just the starting area in maps where you start in each corner, since nobody have went for those before.
Capture the base doesn't even make any sense in extermination mode, dont understand why it's in there.
Oh well, guess I'll have to aim for a tie-off.

Since I've kept on playing with randoms it's been quite the experience whenever a new game mode pops up. The other players must wonder what the hell I'm doing. I really should check the tutorial for the different game modes at some point.

Yeah, I thought on that last turn as I entered the box that you must not have known/remembered about the red box victory. If you watched my commentary, you would see I was thinking you were counting on me to go for that victory and I was trying to plan on you rocketing the inner wall with the box to get me before I got in the zone.

Oof, so when I had the idea of "hey, let's try something stupid and risky" in the tiebreaker, I underestimated how stupid and risky it would be. Dead in two turns :(

Got a crazy lucky grenade here.
Vlad took a huge risk and it would have been interesting to see how that could have played out if I didn't get catch them sneaking around.
 
Well, I went bold on both matches after having the initial stale mate. I've lost one to Jazzerman already and the other is going to end with me hiding behind a box trapped by his MG for the second loss... Should have played Toma style and gone defense.
