But what really is going to happen is thatMy hope is that (spoilers from ending)Superman's inevitable return in Justice League will be a rebirth for the character and they'll move away from Goyer's dour take. Superman is the worst part of the movie.
I can't express how much I think the critics were wrong on this movie I loved it.
It was like a live-action DC animated movie or a good couple three episodes of Justice League.
I even actually cared about Superman in the movie.
8.5/10 for me

I found the set-up for the Justice League hilariously laughable. It was literally just a montage of trailers inelegantly shoved in there. The film has its good moments, but the JL stuff felt like a literal last-minute addition, and I absolutely wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
I just came back with my brother. We both thought the movie was trash. I wasn't a fan of Man of Steel but Man of Steel is way better than this.
This is not a movie. This is a complete mess. I legitimately feel sorry for the DC fanboys defending this saying it is a good movie. They deserve better but since this is all they have they have to defend it.

Interview with Snyder about the "ultimate cut"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fsw42prfp8
- Deeper Dive
- Story lines fleshed out
- More Character beats
- Little bit more action (Warehouse, Doomsday)
- Extra beats from entire film, not one particular section
- Cuts made very recently
- He's unfortunately not James Cameron and can't just make a 3 hour movie for theater (lol)
- Theatrical cut is "workable" version
- Is his Director's Cut
Definitely seems like another Watchmen situation. Theatrical edit is just to fit within runtime guidelines, and the home video is the true cut.
They were? Cool. This should have the same fate as well.Looking forward to seeing the full cut. Watchman and Sucker Punch were both greatly improved in his director's cuts.
Opinions, how do they work?I just came back with my brother. We both thought the movie was trash. I wasn't a fan of Man of Steel but Man of Steel is way better than this.

I wonder why it'll be rated R? I can't wait to see that cut, the theatrical version was already really good, the Director's cut will probably be fantastic.Looking forward to seeing the full cut. Watchman and Sucker Punch were both greatly improved in his director's cuts.

This is a bad film and an even worse superhero flick, to the point where I got the grim feeling that the people making BvS hate these characters and want you to hate them too. Well mission accomplished. Cavill's take on the Superman character is even worse than he was during Meh of Steel and while Gal Gadot is fine as Wonder Woman, her appearance in this film feels like it was on some committee checklist because they need to haphazardly establish the DCCU in as rushed and as messily a manner as possible.
While I fully believe Ben Affleck could make a great Batman, this version of Batman isDon't get me started on Jessie Eisenberg's character, who was the most insufferable scene-chewing thing to appear in any modern superhero film. I say character because they sure as heck weren't Lex Luthor!the definitive take on Crazy Steve Batman from ASBAR because he murders and tortures people (at one point someone is set on fire thanks to his actions and is presumably killed), thinks he's always right in his conclusion while being a completely reckless and xenophobic gun-toting lunatic. Heck, there was a scene where Perry White refers to him as the "goddamn Batman". I bet if Robin *was* alive in this universe, he would make derogatory remarks to him before feeding him rats in the Batcave. Also, what the hell was up with the bats lifting up Bruce as a kid? That is not how physics work, no matter how good you try to make it look!Maybe that piss is just his father's: He did say he left everything in his father's room the same place as it was before so...
The film is essentially a 2 & 1/2 hour long advertisement for what a morose mess the DCCU will be in the coming years, with cameos thrown in that slow down this repugnant bile to a crawl when it isn't being incredibly obnoxious. It's poorly edited, badly written trash. To explain why it's so wretched, i've come up with a list of comic book/comic book-related things you could better spend your time with than watching this movie:
-Read Batman Hush: A great story that, among its other accomplishments, has a believable fight between Batman and Superman while showing their unique relationship.
-Watch Deadpool: Funny, crude and full of heart, something Batman V. Superman completely lacks. Speaking of...
-Read Ms. Marvel: Admittedly the last main storyline (the one about Kamala's identity being used to support a real estate takeover of her neighbourhood brought about via) felt like it rushed towards the finale and could have used more time to fully flesh out its tale, it's the small moments of each individual issue that make up for any shortcomings in the pacing and conclusion of the overall story. There are very few tiny details to appreciate about this film outside of minor aesthetic details and the ending will leave you shouting out "NO! You did not earn that ending movie, shame!". I sincerely doubt the R-rated director's cut will make any of this any more enjoyable or inspiring than a young woman punching people with expanding fists while dealing with balancing out their personal life and superhero duties. Also the latest issue was pretty great.Hydra
-Check out Ellis' run on Moon Knight: Smart and sharp-looking (Shalvey's artwork is a feast for the eyes, especially in issue 2 & 3), it's a great anthology of sorts that still manages to tell a coherent story over the course of six comics as opposed to the myriad of poorly connected scenes exemplified in this film.
- Pick up any of the DCAU series on DVD and watch them. Any of them. Even the Zeta Project was better than this because at least that series understood Batman as a character, even if it was future Batman
-Apologize to the small children no doubt crying by the scary imagery as an icon of hope that aspires humanity to be better is wailed on/cut up by a CGi monster and a psychopath in a cape. They need someone to make them feel better because this film is so thoroughly nasty and unpleasant to sit through.
-Watch Iron Giant: Because a robot designed to destroy humanity with advanced alien weaponry in a time full of paranoia with its Cold War setting and ends with the launch of a nuclear missile is more uplifting, more heartfelt and more inspiring than a film about Superman.
Short version: Batman v Superman only avoids being as bad as Fant4stic as a pretentiously stupid film that thinks it's smarter than it actually is by virtue of some well-shot scenes and for not beingboring. You have to aspire to make a film this bad. Much like Lex Luthor's piss, Batman V Superman blew up any good will the DCCU garnered up to this point.as
Saw it last night and gave my thoughts via the review thread so i'll just quote what I wrote there, albeit with one minor edit:

Haha, okay. Opinions and all but I don't see people defending it. Most have given it a 7/8 out of 10, and noted that the reviewers are completely wrong in terms of it being absolute trash.
Its a comic book movie, I just don't understand what people expected from it.
Also, Syndercan fuck off with that dreams shit, or dreams within dreams nonsense. This is not fucking sucker punch.
The things with the bats was because it was a dream
This is exactly how I described it too! I didn't watch any trailers (which I think is where I differ from the vast majority of people who built expectations, I'm sure) and kept thinking, "This feels just like a DC animated movie." I really enjoyed it lol, although that's not to say I didn't have some issues with it, but I do believe people are blowing this up.I can't express how much I think the critics were wrong on this movie I loved it.

Ok, that makes sense but it was pretty difficult to tell given how stylized the other dream sequences were in comparison to that one, namely the Dark Superman one.
Well, if they use theAlso, Syndercan fuck off with that dreams shit, or dreams within dreams nonsense. This is not fucking sucker punch.
Wellyou could tell the thing with the bats was a dream when they started carrying him up. Or at least a vision or some shit
Idk for this specific sequence I thought they made it pretty clear it was a dream. My mind isn't as fresh but I thought he woke up directly after or something

This might be the moment in my life that triggers me to stop listening to critics all together.
ProfessionalsYou're a critic now.
I just got back from watching it. I thought Man of Steel was mediocre but Batman vs Superman was decent.
I really, really liked that scene whereBruce thinks Clark is mentioning his mother, but in fact, he is referring to his own mother
Regarding the other JL member cameos.
Flash,Aquaman, looked silly. But not enough of him to have an opinion. i honestly have no idea what he was wearing, and the gas station scene was whateverCyborg, looked bad ass, but his scene was pretty disappointing.Wonder Woman, most interesting cameo out of all of them imo. I'm actually excited for a cyborg movie more than I thought I would be.Green Lantern, stole the show. Gal Gatdamn. That fight intro music. Same with cyborg, looking forward to her movie.where were you? I only saw reference to his love interest.
The complaints about the universe building are ridiculous. I barely noticed it at all. I could have taken more. I feel like the universe building complaint will become the destruction complaint of MoS. Both are baseless IMO
...aren't the identification OF the cameos kind of spoilery?![]()
