Star Wars #14 despite a digital release on Friday and disc release coming Tuesday. Wow!
I don't know why everyone is acting so shocked. This is pretty normal fanboy behavior.
Emotions were always high surrounding this film for one reason or another. Nothing about what's happening should be surprising if you A. were active in discussions about the movie leading up to release and B. have very little faith in online communities to act in rational and healthy ways.

There are plenty of blockbusters that are panned by critics and most of the audience like BvS. Yet you dont often see black lives mattter sort of movements start to try and defend them.
I mean ASM 2 was shit on by everyone and didnt do as well as it should at boxoffice. Same situation we had here with BvS. But you didnt see those kind of insane reactions.

Street Fighter V is actually a great fighting game, just with missing modes. Fant4stic was a train-wreck.

We also didn't have three years of debate about ASM's predecessor wherein it was brought up in pretty much every discussion about the genre, endless bashing or defending of every new piece of media, petty pot shots taken at ASM and it's fans and likewise it's nearest competition depending on the person, etc. ASM 1 also had a fairly decent reception and Spider-Man as a franchise already had a few good movies under its belt, on top of the fact that general consensus was people wanting Marvel to get the rights back.
That was never as touchy and bafflingly toxic a topic as BvS and DC's film slate. If you ever thought that reaction to the film being panned critically or struggling commercially was going to be anything but a clusterfuck, you have more faith in people on the internet than I do.

To my knowledge nobody received death threats over BvS. That's a couple steps saner than Star Wars and Nintendo fandom meltdowns. Even fans of TDKRises had enough "passion" to make threats over differing opinions. These Twitter shenanigans are innocuous for fan over reactions.

Fandom is serious business for some people, especially if we are talking about social media and hobbyist discussion forums (where people go to talk about their fandom and hobbies).
For what it's worth, that movement to get people to watch The Phantom Menace in the June after its release (so that it had a shot at topping Titanic) would have blown up to these levels in the modern twitter age.
