Uncharted 4 preview thread. New footage/info

Really just loving the colors of this level. Glad they increased the saturation in the other level too.

Great GIF. Agree with you, love the lighting and colours of this segment.

So, 8/10?

To be honest:

"As a statement of intent for a new, gently retooled Uncharted it's an effective demo from Naughty Dog. As a reminder of what's great about the series - the spectacle, the drama and the set-pieces delivered with so much technical flair - it's a little less convincing. Surely that's all still yet to come, and Naughty Dog's pointedly keeping those moments close to its chest in the run-up to release. For now, it's just happy to show us that, even as Nathan Drake shuffles off into retirement, this old dog's not above learning some new tricks".

That sounds like a critic you could make if the game lacks all those details. At this point for a demo it's like they want spoilers in it.
It seems that we're all impatient here.

Something I haven't seen anyone mention is that clumps of dirt/mud get picked up and stuck to the tires of the Jeep, and the vehicle itself gets dirtier when you go through mud, and splashes on the windshield. And if you drive through water it washes off.

Yep and the harder mud clumps take time to vanish and still stick to the tyres and get wet and solid when walking onto water. I noticed clouds' reflections on water puddles too.

Nothing can beat this game, only GOW4 on PS4K.

I love the stuff they added to the game, but it looks like Naughty Dog hasn't fixed the combat, which is a huge part of the game. You don't have to play the full game to understand that the combat is still cumbersome. Besides, Uncahrted 2 the Uncharted games haven't really had good combat mechanics so it's a little disappointing that this game follows suit.

Naughty Dog really doesn't innovate they take stuff from other games and wrap it up with an amazing blockbuster story. I love that they borrowed the marking element from Metal Gear, but may be they should have borrowed some of the fluid combat. Oh well, most of us will just have to work through the cumbersome combat to see the spectacle.
I'm inclined to disagree. There is a reason why this Eurogamer guy is the odd man out. Not to imply there is anything wrong with his opinion but I do think we would have seen more complaints like that if it was a issue.

UC4 multiplayer beta is the best playing tps along with MGSV.

The speed gauge of the Jeep is working. If the odometer also works accordingly I'll build a temple of Naughty Dog.

They said it wasn't working in the E3 demo and they plan to do it. They did it now and there was even a focus on it at the beginning of this gameplay to highlight that. :D

Exchanging a copy of quantum break for uncharted 4? Not a fair trade lol, one is going to set the standard for the genre once again.

Yah, I don't get why people are calling his concerns garbage when they haven't played it. You can't really go off the multiplayer demo as you don't really get to see how the AI behaves. Also, the multiplayer demo was running at 60FPS, which naturally will make it more fluid than the single player game. Even Metal Gear ran at 60 FPS, which is why is combat mechanics rocked. I was very interested to see how the combat mechanics fared at 30 FPS. Besides Eurogamer, nobody has really talked about the combat.

Man....

I was watching the IGN video and they do a good job in making the gun combat look bad. Especially the parts with the handgun. The player seems to be better with the sniper rifle a little later but he/she sucks with the handgun, holy cow.

U4 is going to be awesome, but setting standards? In what way? And you sound disrespectful towards Remedy who did one hell of a job with the tech in QB.

I have to ask, your GAF title, what was the cause for that? lol
Some poster was talking about lighting and resolution and other stuff and referred to them as "hard graphics", and in my confusion, I asked what hard graphics were.

Then how much UI we put on the screen, because Uncharted is known for having very limited UI. We found that the AI is so sophisticated that we needed to give the player some extra help, but for hardcore gamers that don't like that, you can go into the options and turn it all off.
.

About the awareness stuff.

Looks ground-breaking .Gotta make sure I don't gorge myself too much on all this info.

Made that mistake with the past games. Will be selective by reading one preview and one gameplay video :)
