Heh I like this playthough.
Crazy how much ND has actually expanded the franchise with this release. It's certainly not just more of exactly the same. Vehicle segments integral to the gameplay itself, rope swing and mobility mechanics, improved stealth, completely redesigned open sandbox esque level design, re-worked combat and gunplay and so on. They could have just made their lives easier and essentially replicated the exact design of past games in the franchise, but I feel they've done a huge amount to push the franchise forward in new ways. With that said, I hope the core linear set piece experiences do still exist, and are fairly plentiful.

Probably so lol.Watch and weep as they make people who restart encounters ineligible for related trophies![]()
This will backfire if it's not like 10 times better than the boss fights of Uncharted 1-3. They were ridiculously bad and boring.
Mannnnn I hope ND just releases this demo same way the released the one for TLOU
Correct me if I'm wrong but the playable snippet that was released to the public was the same one from the preview event
Someone tell me I can hope, I can dream
Developer saying his game has the best boss fight is not big news.

Shirtless fist fight atop a burning pirate ship with flashbacks, callbacks and music interludes from Uncharted 1,2 & 3.
You mean like Uncharted 3That wouldn't be ND though. And the game would be crucified by critics.

Uncharted 3 was hardly crucified by critics, but yea, it essentially was more of the same, only very slightly tweaked, with the emphasis on the melee and more dynamic encounters. But that is generally the case with sequels. Uncharted 4 seems like more of an expansion and evolution than normal.
hmm, watched the IGN preview and some other jeep driving footage. not impressed at all.. art style puts me right off and i'm not seeing anything amazing about the visuals, am i crazy..? i was far more impressed when i saw and played UC2, UC3 and TLoU on PS3.
also doesn't look very interesting gameplay wise.
maybe i just haven't seen enough, can anyone link me some really incredible footage if it exists?
New hardware will allow that .
ND did say this is the UC they always want to make .
Dude you watching it on a IGN player!hmm, watched the IGN preview and some other jeep driving footage. not impressed at all.. art style puts me right off and i'm not seeing anything amazing about the visuals, am i crazy..? i was far more impressed when i saw and played UC2, UC3 and TLoU on PS3.

I'm fine if the game doesn't have a final boss battle at all, especially if they try to force it in there just to make things even more climactic. I'm more than fine with something similar to the ending of Halo 1 with you on the jeep trying to escape a collapsing ancient city maybe while being attacked by the human goons and mercenaries or perhaps some supernatural threat.
I do think we will have at least one "boss" fight when we take on the mercenary woman which should be interesting if they try to go with a protracted intense one on one fight. Depends on if the mechanics can keep it interesting and varied over a longer period than just punching a random enemy, maybe dodging a telegraphed counter attack, then finishing them off which is what a lot of the fist fights in UC have been like. They could make it more an environmental puzzle where you have to use elements of the surroundings during the battle to advance and win or if the mechanics are deep enough it could be more of a typical chip away at the health boss fight.
I would love if they keep evolving their boss fights after what TLoU gave us and make them "cinematic" in a way but keeping the actual fight interesting and eventful while also making it feel like you are in control of your actions.

Do we get an hour long epilogue after the fight? Will Sully die on a field littered with white lilies as Nate shares one last smoke with him?![]()
Oh, yay, someone got the joke. The less ND looks to MGS4 for inspiration, the better.
Pls
That was the only part of MGS4 I liked. The boss battle. Cause it reminded me of other (better) MGS games.
Shirtless fist fight atop a burning pirate ship with flashbacks, callbacks and music interludes from Uncharted 1,2 & 3.
Well, MGS2 and MGS3 were on the same hardware, MGS4 and MGS V were on the same hardware and those games are completely different from each other. Hardware limitation definitely has some impact but ND played it safe game with Uncharted 3
I love bosses, I feel it should have if but like you said they should use what they learned with TLOU. The winter boss battle was fantastic, fit the game perfectly and had all the elements of a good boss battle. They need that.
You mean like Uncharted 3
2's final boss fight was decent as it puts the core game mechanics front and center
1 and 3 had pitiful final bosses and made use of out-of-nowhere and/or unpolished game mechanics.
4's had to be better, regardless. There's no way they allow it to be worse... Right?
Yeah I don't understand why everyone hate's 2's final boss. It's not amazing, but at least it's not a QTE (UC1) or a glorified QTE (UC3). I kinda hope they just do it like TLOU, just have a really intense final stage.
Oh, yay, someone got the joke. And don't worry, I loved MGS4, but I don't want Uncharted 4 to take inspiration from it either. Just made a joke as a response to Nightengale's post. I don't know if he meant it on purpose, but it felt way too similar.
How would you feel if they showed a flashback of Nate and Elena getting married while shooting bad guys?![]()
Every time I see the jeep and the winch mechanic I can't help but worry it will be this game's equivalent to TLOU's water and pallet sequences. I trust ND to do a lot of things right, but they've clearly shown questionable judgment about certain things in the past. Please don't make this vehicle/open world/"puzzle" solving stuff so frequent that it turns repeat playthroughs into a chore.

Just because he wasn't impressed doesn't make him a fanboy.I bet you think QB looks amazing
