Are "reviews in progress" scores used on MC, or does MC waits for full score?

They wait, have them at the bottom of the page under In "Progress & Unscored"

This metacritic score basically confirms UC4 as the big GOTY winner this year. I really cant think of another game that could top it. Maybe Persona 5, but that one is too niche for the media. It will be UC4 all over.

I wonder how much money ND has spent on trophy cabinets.

If Zelda really is the big evolution from OoT that Aonuma claims it is, I could see it scoring an average of 95 or above. That's going to be a very tough feat to pull off though.

True, and I love an EAD game, but even Zelda the great Zelda games after OoT - Skyward Sword for example, were torn apart because reviewer slant has become increasingly frustrating in the modern era.

Many games have already evolved past elements OOT introduced that the series itself is still stagnating under. Game will probably be great, but it'll have to catch up in many ways before it can be seen as breaking new ground. So I doubt it.

Replaying Uncharted 3 for the Nathan Drake Collection showed me that it wasn't a bad game at all. It just wasn't as good as 2. Combat was much improved and it's goddamn pretty on PS4. UC2 is a high bar. UC3 missed it, but it's a great game.

Have the same experience as you. Only con was the worse hit detection/reaction (or the complete lack of it). That seems to be pretty good in UC4 (from the gifs).

Uncharted 3 had some dumb design choices but was still a great game. Will never get the hatred it brings out of people.

This. I'm biased towards it because it was my first experience with the Uncharted series as a late PS3 adopter. However it is personally probably my favourite of the first 3.

I'm sure GTA6 will reach it but Rockstar are not going to see that 98 MC ever again.

Somethign tells me not even GTA is gonna reach 98 ever again too. Than again I'm one of the few that feels like GTA in general is a jack of all trades, master of none, kitchen sink experience.

This kind of hyperbole doesn't help.

I don't think it's out of the question to say Naughty Dog has innovated in the story telling, acting, and narrative based gaming side of the industry. They are literally unmatched when it comes to character expression and attention to detail. I don't think they innovated the third person shooter/adventure game- but they definetely had a hand in shaping the way we tell stories, capture performances, and convey emotions in games.

I honestly doubt it as well, but the game is such an unknown right now. It's really the only game I can think of that has a shot at crossing 95.

Edit - Oh yeah, maybe something from Rockstar could (GTA VI or the next Red Dead game).

Don't forget to add some quotes from here':

Ars Technica:
While Uncharted 4 is a beautiful and thrilling way to pass the time, it feels like an insubstantial experience in the end. What will probably be Nathan Drake's final tale feels mostly slick and forgettable, lacking the strong character drama or plotting that can make other cinematic games stick with you long after they're completed. I doubt I'll be spending much time working over the events of Uncharted 4 in my head the way I have for games like Dishonored, Bioshock Infinite, or even Naughty Dog's own The Last of Us. That doesn't matter when you're in the middle of a thrilling firefight, but it becomes apparent quickly once those credits begin to roll.

I loved Uncharted 3. The people that didn't are just MUCH more vocal about it.

While personally I did find U3 disappointing (especially with the aiming fuckup), that is true. Case in point: MGS 4 was beloved by MGS fans and got GAF GOTY that year. Yet if you look at how GAF seemingly talks about it now, it must have been a hugely disappointing travesty. Why? Because the majority who loves it is tired of having to fight the fight: criticism is always much easier than praise. The critic can easily make the enthusiastic fan look like an uncultured, undiscerning fool. The more linear and story-heavy a game is, the more this is so (the critic can always rely on the go-tos: video game writing sucks; games are meant to be played, not watched, etc.).

P.S. With the aiming fixed and a lot of distance from the far superior 2, 3 was still an excellent game and among the best in the genre.

Seriously, as an older FF fan, there are too many yellow lights on the internet on XV to score even close to 9 (saying that it won't be the return to form many of us are expecting).
Hopefully the final game will be legit.

Yea that's what I said, Rockstar can say goodbye to the 98 MC days, but you said they won't reach 95 and I disagree, GTA6 can get to 95-96 if it's good enough.

Don't see a game on the horizon this year to challenge Uncharted 4 as an overall GOTY package. No Bloodborne or Witcher 3 level stuff in sight. Stuff like Overwatch will be great but it's only 'half' a package. The Last Guardian will probably be super interesting but with mechanics a bit all over the place. Horizon and Zelda are now 2017.

Persona 5.

Great Reviews as expected.
Can't wait :D

Just slightly dissapointed I'll have to go digital because the physical version over here won't include the english voices

So if we're solely looking at the few complaints.... it doesn't do a whole lot of new things, bit predictable and we've all played it before. Hey I expected all of that, so no surprises, but all these 10s? Personally I find that hard to believe and I would say that about any game. Don't even get me started on MGS5. I'm sure U4 is more deserving of 10s though,
