10 years wasn't enough?
The mentality is right, but not for a game like Final Fantasy XV.
You act like the game was in active developement for 10 years.

Anyway, the game won't be delayed IMO. Square is heavily marketing the 30th September date and it's really the perfect month for the game.

The mentality is right for any project. AAA games development (espesh on the scale of FFXV) is messy business. So many noticeable game releases this gen launch with a problem (or 6) that could have been addressed with a bit more time in the oven.
It seems those abilities were given to the party members to not make them feel worthless. Although, I wonder if abilities like drain that were in duscae will be tied to a specific weapon.
Exactly because of its long development it must have a higher level of polish lest you get the "10 years in the making and still a mess!" comments. The last thing it needs is an AC: Unity situation.
In the end it doesn't matter if release dates were already marketed. As I said before Uncharted 4 had 3 (!) delays with concrete release dates. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, too. Basically every delayed game once had a known, marketed release date. That alone is not a guarantee that something won't be delayed. If the reputation and brand is on the line, especially in the case of FFXV, a delay could be possible and I feel there could really be one. In the end people always forget about the delays if the game is out and good, see Uncharted 4 - I mean, who even remembers or talks about its delays anymore? Mark my words.
Noctis can't use Tempest and Dragon Jump anymore?![]()
The game as we see it now hasn't been in development for 10 years, probably 3-4 in its current state.
But a lot of people have this perception that it has been in development those past 10 years and as a result they shouldn't release an unfinished product at this point. Many people here, including myself, are willing to wait a little longer if it means a polished product.

You seem to know whats up. Was that rumor about there never being a team when it was nomura's project true?

1080p or dynamic 1080p 30fps with maybe some drops here or there when it gets hectic mark my words they got this.

The good thing is I don't care about 1080p since my TV from 2009 still is 720/766pAlso it's only 32" and I sit pretty far away, so for me everything looks like it has 16xAA naturally, lol. Even sub-30fps doesn't bother me at all. And I really love my TV's image quality and colors. Bring on the 900p with more stable framerate!
Agreed! I'm not really a graphics man nor am I good at noticing frame drops unless its really really bad so IDC either way.The good thing is I don't care about 1080p since my TV from 2009 still is 720/766pAlso it's only 32" and I sit pretty far away, so for me everything looks like it has 16xAA naturally, lol. My only fear is that critics will go extra hard and nitpicky on this game. They will want nothing less than perfection from a title "10 years in development".
I'm betting that lots of them will be harsher on this than most other games in the market, and A LOT of reviews will end with the phrase "so, was the 10 year wait worth it? No, it wasn't."
Hope I'm wrong.
Go buy a new TV lol.

I never look at reviews... especially for games I really care about. As long as you like what you're experiencing... that's what matters. I feel like the only guy who loved Drakengard 3 and that game got ripped in reviews. Same for Killer is Dead. I hear people say Titus is horrible but he's my favorite FF star so far.

But first let's wait and see how the game looks at E3. Only ~3 weeks to go.
Squall is my favorite *shrugs loluntil Noctis unleashes
You really need to ckeck out your auto-correction. An FF game set in ancient Rome would be awesome.
I should be dropping LTTP threads for FF8 and FF 10 in June and July. Lol and Noctis does really seem like a cool guy.
??? Isn't the name of FF X main guy... Titus? Lol or am I wrong?

Let's not kid ourselves, FFXV metacritic will only be in the lower-half 80 range, but it will be considered an important and ambitious first step into the "modern era" for FF with a lot of room for improvement.
Prediction: 82-86

It's Tidus.
Higher than 90, GOTY contender, you heard it from here first.

My predictions this year have been only 1 point off, so you can take this as pretty much fact because of my track record.

Sounds about right, yeah.I live in Tokyo. Every electronics/game store has a huge XV display advertising the September release. I feel like it would be marketing suicide to go back on that.
Release date isn't changing. We're getting what we're getting and my guess is: a battle system that lacks response but still pretty fun, lots of graphical issues but nowhere near AC:U levels and a subpar to decent story with cringey dialogue and horrendous English voice acting.
Bookmarked, just in case![]()
Why do you fear that unless you're a S-E employee or stockholder? It should only matter to you what you think of the game.
Does anybody remember when I said I would eat my hand if my prediction about Noctis and Luna would turn out wrong? And where's MultiJhonny??? He's another well known person on the FFXV hype train.
