For some reason the writing becomes completely risible when juxtaposed with real actors. Like I certainly wouldn't find that trailer to be well written regardless but real actors exacerbates the problem majorly.

I'm just re-iterating that its writing is fucking trash anyway and not even the fun kind because it's taking itself seriously. At least the game should be fun to play.

It was the same way with the HR live action stuff. You can practically feel the editorial decisions shining through in a lot of the marketing. They brainstormed mechanical apartheid and then it got pushed out onto everything. In HR they had the whole icarus motif in the early CGI trailer (which was awesome) but then it didn't actually have tons to do with the finished game. The game equivalent of "this line is for the trailer" in movies.
