It is a still a bit disappointing that NX and other big games have not made an appearance at this E3 but Zelda has been seriously impressive. Far, far better then I could ever imagine.

Uh... Am I the only one that is incredibly underwhelmed by what has been shown so far? :( not only does it look like a GameCube game, it seems to have the gameplay of a 5+ year old game to boot. Why are we supposed to be impressed by an incredibly sparse open world, ultra simplistic crafting systems that have been present in other games for literally decades, the same old combat, simplistic world interactions and a stealth meter that wouldn't have been very impressive in Wind Waker let alone a Wii U/NX game...

Technically the game also looks extremely poor with horrible low rest textures, barely any geometry, last gen animations, barely any lighting effects to speak of and what looks to be a dire frame rate... I can only hope these will massively improve over time and on the NX, although considering the amount of time this has been in gestation I find it hard to see it as anything other than a bad sign generally.

I don't doubt it will be a Good Game(tm) but I can't help but feel this is just no where near good enough for greatness and I really can't believe this is their entire E3..

*sigh*

You're not wrong.

If we saw the limit at all in the demo, I can't imagine it would be anything but annoying in the game.

Hopefully over the course of the game though, we'll get more permanent items to replace a lot of the inventory stuff.
You probably get pouch upgrades.

This Zelda game is seriously incredible. The Witcher 3 is my favorite open world game and this looks like it has the potential to overtake it. Of course, this is also maximum hype after seeing the game for the first time, but as a diehard Zelda fan I am hoping for the best.

For the framerate, you might want to switch to twitch No idea what youtube's problem is but it's much better there.

Doesn't really sound like you would have been impressed with the game no matter what they did.

From what I've seen, Link is the real monster.

Haha, honestly I agree. It's like in that Kirby 3DS game where all of the "enemies" are just casually trying to live in their own homes while minding their own business when Kirby comes by and just slaughters them all while also destroying their homes.

I'm sure when we'll be playing, we'll be a lot more discerning about what we pick up, so I doubt the inventory will be a problem

Has there been any confirmation on the function of the tablet screen during regular gameplay? Now that hearts are out as a collectible in the world it looks a bit tedious to be hopping in and out of menus to eat/regain health during combat.

I wonder if the de-emphazation of the tablet side of things is an indication that the NX won't use a second screen? All just conjecture of course, but they haven't even shown the tablet screen yet.

Seeing lots of twitter comments about how people are going to buy a NX for the new Zelda.

Nintendo's plan is working well.

Oh god, come on. You don't even know what a fucking GameCube game looks like.

The zelda gameplay is a breath of fresh air compared to:

  • cgi 'gameplay'
  • scripted banter during 'live multiplayer' demos
  • trailers with zero gameplay
  • basically every other type of live gameplay they've attempted to show off at E3
  • semi competent fumbling with the controls with godmode while ignoring prompts to jump onto Titan's arm for the sixth goddamn time.

At least these presenters are very obviously enjoying the game
.
at least someone is.
This thing is putting me to sleep.

I'm sure the game will be fun to play, and i'm still excited to play this (though not as i was before today) but this demo is utterly boring.
Running around in an empty plain with very dated looking environments, doing essentially the same thing for 90 minutes.

I think a short but well edited demo would've worked better.
And also, show more varied thing than this boring plain.

I don't believe you're the only one, we are talking about the demo a some people here think the same as you, however, expecting similar responses to your opinion from a forum in which clearly the 99% of the comments are praise to the game is kinda naive
