I used to think like that, then I discovered this mind-blowing cool new feature called...

Sensitivity... in the options.

Lol this reminds me every time someone says controllers don't have enough buttons for a game, even in the steam descriptions it states this for games like for elite dangerous....

like how many combinations are there on a controller anyway ? must be 30 or more.

The only data that is shared between players, so far as I understand it, is the galaxy seed itself.

If you and someone else is on the same planet at the same time, and they start blasting rocks and terrain, you won't see the craters they make or the rocks being blown apart- you'll only see the other player making the animation to shoot at stuff.

I don't even think you'll see animals or plants in the same places at the same time because you are each in your own procedurally generated bubbles. You might even have different sunrises/sunsets, different weather, etc...

Not 100% positive on that, but I think that's how it works. You'll see each other, but you won't be seeing the same environmental changes.

As of now that is the biggest unknown for how "multiplayer" works. They've said all along that you will be able to see other players if they happen to get close enough. But the amount of interactivity we'll have, including animals, destruction, Sentinels, weather, etc., we just don't know. Trees should be in the same place though, in the same way that every other geographic features are the same for every player. Can't predict where animals will be though, because they will be AI controlled once they spawn in.

The game looks like "crafting: the game" to me. I don't know how I feel about this...

Crafting the game! Its all the same! Just crafting the same thing in my little crafting space game!

Don't know how I feeeeeeel! This really can't be real! Its just a crafting game with nothing to build!

Does anyone have a link to that little teddy bear green monster that was found the other day? It was running away from the player. Or a gif.

There is also space combat and exploration.

I'd say there is just as much menu interaction in NMS equally as something like the The Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 needing to manage your equipment and items, or comparably Minecraft which you also look for resources and need to manage them in the crafting windows.

Since you can type Planets names it would be nice to be able to write a description too, althought it could be somehow spoilery I think...

However, carving cave's walls would be awesome too.

I love your idea of writing brief descriptions for each place you've visited, like a guest book of sorts that everybody could read and then sign.

I am definitely going to start carving hieroglyphics into the caves of places I visit. It would be great if we could get some confirmation on the scope of our changes and how much others would see if they happened upon a planet.

If you're in your own instance then I don't think they'd see anything you did on that planet.

I'm pretty sure carving something into caves isn't going to be stored server-wide.

You would need to carve gigantic hieroglyphs on the surface of the planet, and even then I'm not sure.

Only drastic changes to environment/resources are stored for everyone to see.

Pretty sure they've already said that the changes you make will stay forever for you to see but if another person visited that planet they would see it as untouched.

Ugh, my Amazon LE is still listed as Shipping Soon. it's been that way since Friday. Getting a bit worried now.

It's a bit irritating that the patch went up Day -1 instead of Day 1, so digital purchasers basically get the game a full day early. To be clear I'm not being salty, I'm happy for everyone that can play it early, but it's really frustrating that the release date for digital is effectively the 8th instead of the 9th. If I'd known that I probably would've bought digital, especially now that the Day 1 patch takes away the physical advantage by making the physical disc a pre-release build. :/

If you live close to one of their warehouses, that's why you don't usually see your copy of a game ship out when some other people's do. They usually ship it overnight, as far as I know. That's how it was for me, for Uncharted 4.
