Is this a common bug?

I finally reached an extremely hot planet that had occasional firestorms, and I spent one Sol on it. However, the milestone didn't pop. On the milestone stat screen it just shows that I've survived for one Sol, and underneath that it says "Next milestone in 0.0 Sols". I hung around for a while longer to try and make something happen, but nothing did. Even when I moved on to another system and a couple of new planets, it didn't pop.

Is this a common issue and if so, is that milestone screwed for me?

This game is everything I'd hoped it would be so far.

Right now I'm mining gold for trade. I plan to buy a Firefly* class ship from the Va'keen. They are around 1.8 million for a 25 slot. I'm currently at 1.3 million.

*not their actual name... They're shaped like Serenity from Firefly, though.

Btw i want to mark my first system but i can't find it. I'm just one jump away, I don't get it.
Any way to highlight systems you've visited?

You have to go into space and then go to the star map. Search for discoveries. Problem is you have to online (shown in the options menu if on PS4) Half the time its not online for me.

Anyway, I went to a previous star system to mine Heridium on a particular planet. Crafting some warp drives. Luckily I have the blueprints to go > Suspension fluid > etc.

Will probably go back to my starter planet, it was actually quite nice, I didn't spend enough time there.

Where are you getting these? I've played for 8 hours and I haven't found a single ship part blueprint. I've found plenty of other blueprints, but nothing for my ship...

They've been playing for a long time.

I'm 30+ hours in now and only have two of four good ship drive upgrades.

Had a couple of people message me over PSN who've stumbled upon one of my discovered planets and asking whether I'm still around.

I'm hundreds of light years away now. I would've thought with a game this big it would've taken longer to come across other peoples discoveries!

Do crashed ships always have more slots than your current one? I find them and some are as tiny and cheap looking as the starter ship, but they all seem to have 30 slots. One more than my current ship.

not always, but usually

I'm easily entertained.

The Rock is a rocky barren planet with a highly aggressive sentinel force

Leaving Las Vegas is a poisonous planet with acid rain constantly.

Bad Lieutenant is a tropical stormy/murky place

it all fits

fucking pld, Oz

Inventory is drag and drop (or rather triangle to transfer)
You cannot transfer the upgrades, you can dismantle them and rebuild them using a blueprint.
I held off until I found the ship with better upgrades, though.

Also, when you dismantle you don't receive back the full amount of resources. I did it but I needed like 20 zinc to setup the pulse drive, ended up walking for 30 minutes till I found a floating trade shop.

Just came across a couple of abandoned outposts with weird red plants and tentacles inside and some omnious music started playing...this game man...

I guess I have been lucky with Zinc so far. Every planet I was on had tons of it, it is in a yellow flower waiting to be picked up.

All non-barren planets have Zinc, but if you've changed ships on that planet, you're stuck until you get some Zinc. Which can be really hard.

Thanks. I was doing that but it only loaded nearesr discoveries from other players plus my current system.
Seems after a while it loaded then finally my starting system in as i could suddenly cycle to it via the right direction button.

Btw you can have only 3 way points and you wärs override the older ones if you want more so be careful...
Oh and i just realized you can hide the black bars in the star view via the options button and R2/L2 allow you to move up and down.

Yeah last time I did a ship repair Zinc was the last thing I needed. Luckily it wasn't a huge trek to find it though. Zinc is also used for the protection systems, running from Zinc flower to Zinc flower during an extreme heat storm was a lot of fun.

If you have a blueprint, you can craft a shield for 50(?) iron and use that instead of zinc.

Has anyone else found an interesting multi tool?

My current one is

made out of rocks and crystals

and I've never seen anything like it. Don't really want to trade it in for those last few extra multi tool slots. Especially if I'm unlikely to see something similar again.

Any tips on finding copper? Is it present in every system?

I've been searching for some for literally hours, blasting the large potato asteroids in space but not found a single copper one, plenty of every other neutral element though...

Haven't found any in the inventory of a single trader, and haven't seen any of those floating surface rocks that apparently contain it either.

Does it appear on certain types of planets?

Ive found Copper in those floating rocks on some planets.

Same here. I've found copper on four planets with those floating rocks. Typically a planet usually has two different ores, so if you can't find copper just move on to the next one.

Kind of frustrating that you can't disassemble multitool parts while in the comparison screen like you can for ships. Making me keep reloading to a previous save every time an alien offers me a new multitool and if I decline to go back and disassemble parts, he won't offer it to me again.

Ah that's interesting, so say if I find gold and heridium deposits on a planet, it's probably worth ditching cause I won't be likely to find copper there?

I guess I'm one of the lucky few who had zero problems with crashes. Had a slowdown or two when going full speed on a new planet but that's it. Hope it gets better for the folks affected.

I do wish more resources showed up for trading. I feel like I should be able to sell a bunch of one thing to buy a bunch of another, even with unfavourable prices. The markets have very little of what's available in game. I suppose I might not bother exploring though if that was the case...... Hard to know the balance.

Did a quick test to see if user terrain deformations stick around. Blew a small tunnel through a mountain. Fell through a small hole that revealed an underwater blood red lake. Explored for a bit, flew back out and left for space. Came back to the spot... The tunnel was still there and the game had integrated theming to my man made tunnel. Really impressive!

Okay, I haven't been able to blast through terrain with my laser...I'm missing something.

Just followed a distress call and found like 10 ships battling. No idea what I'm supposed to do there, as there is no indicator on whether any of them is friendly or hostile. None of them appear to be targeting me, if anything it seems like they deliberately try not to hit me.

He was asked a long time ago and avoided it, said something like "oh god, I knew it ..." but changed the subject. It's coming, it's his game to publish, but I guess he has to deal with both Sony and MS policies, whatever they are?

Probably similar to the MS ROTR deal which MS and Crystal Dynamics were hesitant to talk about.

The one thing I do like is that they managed to avoid duplicate resources if you transfer them between your exosuit and ship.

50 Copper in your suit and 50 Copper in your ship, transfer them and you get 100. Avoids having to sell constantly.

Yup, that's been my experience so far.

You need plasma grenades for terrain deformation.

You can choose to join the smaller ships (pirates) or defend the bigger ones.

Multitool can shoot plasma grenades if you create that upgrade.

Plasma grenades destroy terrain.

They also one-shot Sentinels. Careful though, because while they destroy resources, they drop little to no resources compared to just mining them.

I do wonder if there's anything to do with ships within a planet's atmosphere. Last night I found a pretty big settlement on a planet (had an Operations Centre, Observatory and a Transmissions Tower) and there was about 5 ships circling it.

May be some kind of random event, or could just be set dressing.

Oh wow, a friend just found out that when you decode a trasmission relay that finds crashed ships you can infinitely find more and more at the same one. He is at 6 signals at the moment and his Korvax relations keep increasing.

You can make Suspension Fluid (out of Carbon) > Electron Vapour > Antimatter. Not sure if you need recipes for these though, I have them in my menu.

Only if he has the recipe for it. Before I had the recipe, I had to buy Suspension Fluid to build the Electron Vapour.
