Konami retweeted that. Talk about desperate.

Well i wasn't expecting this.. but at the same time I can imagine that this title was probably the last piece of game Kojima worked on and the remnant of his team finished the title before being shifted onto something else.

If this means anything... it should be a sign that although console titles are no longer the main focus of Konami... they will release titles for it to ensure that their fan base remains intact... MGS V might as well be their last "insane budget" title and whatever reboot they have in store with Metal Gear... i can't imagine it will be on the level of MGS V.

Yeah. This isn't a sixty dollar game. They're scammin'!

you guys

mgs is a single player story driven franchise, this contains nothing that people like about mgs and with their mastermind gone it is clear that they have nothing left and try to cash in one last time.

like activision did with the latest tony hawk, release it just before the license ran out even though it's shit, there will be suckers who fall for it based on the name alone.

I'm sure this has been brought up already, but this is a spin-off. Sure adding Metal Gear to the title is a dumb marketing tool, but it isn't really being sold as "Metal Gear Solid", it's riding on MGSV's gameplay to be something different.

I'm not 100% on it, but I sure as shit prefer it to a "real MGS game" whicg can't really exist in my mind without Kojima.

I thought they'd have played it a bit slower on the descent, but I see they're opting for a swan dive off the deep end. Admirable approach.

I really can't even be mad. It's just so stupid. How can a company be so clueless?

I can actually see survival gameplay working very well in the FOX engine, it's just weird that this is being forced into the Metal Gear franchise by way of retconning in a random Mother Base grunt getting pulled into a wormhole and teleported wherever. It also doesn't appear like there are real characters since the people we saw in the trailer all look like people you could create in Metal Gear Online 3.

At least we know what's up with the Wandering Mother Base Soldiers now, I guess.

What a load of fucking garbage.
I wasn't expecting much from the series with Kojima gone, but co-op zombie survival thing is worse than anything I might have expected.
A
metal gear
solid pass on this one.

I need some gameplay footage and more info.

Konami better have low sales expectations because I think it's going to be a flop.

Its not looking like something I want to play but man the social media regarding this is embarrassing. As embarrassing as death threats to NMS developers.

Damn if I had seen that trailer live and saw the first few seconds I would've lost my shit thinking it was chapter 3 or some shit, but this...
???
tf did I just watch?
You already have a multiplayer MGS game (im willing to bet a better game too) Konami. Its called Metal Gear Online 3 that you left to die. Fuck you.

Though if this plays like MGSV... damn i might not be able to resist tbh and it probably wont be too bad

That's what I'm saying a co op mgs with the gameplay of 5 on the fox engine for only $30 I might dive in if it's good

Really appalled at the humorlessness Metal Gear fans are displaying today

Zero difference between this and any other MG spin off

You don't need to virtue signal. Kojima is making something else like he wanted to do. Konami isn't doing anything wrong here

I like how this game give us look into the state of mind of the remaining Konami-developers.

Their legendary hero and leader, their Big Boss, is forced to leave them behind on a sinking ship. But they are not allowed to die. They are behing held captured by an powerful force in another dimension where they have to fight for their life by recycling the tools and assets that were left behind with them.

;-)

(Someone has RobertPeeler((A community manager?)) on Steam, and RP has been playing Ground Zeroes alot, 45 hours clocked in or so recently..)

RP has been playing GZ a lot lately because he's been streaming it on the Konami twitch. The r/metalgearsolid reddit subreddit and Konami PR have a good relationship, and recently the subreddit had a "Return to Zero" event where there was speed running challenges for each mission, and RP took the initiative to replay GZ on stream as well.

That entire post has been speculation with no substantial evidence except "B-Believe me!!"

Let it go man.

You've got a point there tbh

>>Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements
>>Nothing remotely classifiable as stealth in trailer, save for maybe trying to hold onto something as you're being sucked into a portal in the sky

Lets look at it from an objective angle then. 4P coop? Done to death. Zombies? Done to redeath. Ignore everything surrounding Konami, it still looks like a shitty cash grab, if Kojima and Konami hadn't split I'd still be rolling my eyes in disinterest.

It looks fun. Peace Walker was great with 2+ player co-op. Zombies remove the boring (and overpowered) tranq gameplay

Edit: it was actually a huge disappointment to me when Phantom Pain dropped co-op
